    Spot on.

....is Ayling and Dallas any better? or a few other players in the Prem.

West Ham signed Dawson, who we would have baulked at.

I feel we need some functional signings and I think Calum is one.

Why would we have baulked at us signing Dawson? He’s a very solid centre back

In fairness, its not unreasonable to expect more than one game in his first season. I don't blame the player, nor am I writing him off ..... I'm merely responding to the assertion that he would destroy Leeds if he played. I just don't get what that could be based on !

He’s quick, has good skills and an end product, he has shown potential in his brief appearances for us and he looks great on YouTube. He’s played for Bayer Leverkusen who are a top German team and internationally for Jamaica, he has pedigree. I think we should be patient with him, he has a lot of talent. He has had quite a few injuries since he joined us, I think we should be patient with him

  3. I remember him when he first came through at Southampton, he was terrific. He’s had a lot of injuries since then, he’s always had a lot of talent and is someone that I’ve kept an eye on from afar. He’s played for England 3 times, he’s no mug, Arsenal signed him from Southampton for £16m when he was 19 years old, Arsene Wenger was manager at the time, he could always spot a player.

    LOL !

What, based on a few minutes in a substitute performance ? He is injury prone and woefully short of fitness (understandably) if he ever does get back. If he is going to rip anything, it will be his thigh / groin / hamstring / calf or whatever !

Anyone can see even during his brief appearances in a Villa shirt that he has talent. He’s very quick and has a trick or two but as usual as Villa fans we expect miracles from our big money signings and then when the player fails to meet our unrealistic demands, us as fans vent our frustrations at the player and then the player moves on, it always happens. Fans expectations of players these days are way too high, they are just normal people like you and I

Why we worrying about Bamford?  If we find him that difficult to deal with then we're not progressing at the rate we hope.

Because he’s an excellent centre forward and he has a knack of scoring against us

Whatever happens today it's Tyrone's fault, idiot.

Comments like this don’t help, if he makes a mistake, we need to get behind him. For me, he is a great player, the players aren’t superhuman, they will make mistakes

To be fair, Martinez is undroppable even if he makes a Man Utd size mistake in each of the next 3 games in row.  He's got enough credit in the bank that Steer or Olsen isn't going to become the no1 keeper, even for a few games.

Past performances count for nothing, last season he was outstanding but that was last season. In my opinion, this season he has been poor. If Olsen isn’t going to come here to challenge for the no.1 spot, I would question his motivation. Don’t get me wrong, I still think Martinez is a great keeper but he isn’t undroppable, no-one is

If true, Nathaniel Phillips might be worth a punt? Will push Konsa but not immediately upset the apple cart?

Why am I putting questions marks after everything? Maybe I'm worried about the response? Maybe I can't get excited by this link?

I think he’d be great for us, he won’t be getting in at Liverpool any time soon. Whenever I’ve seen him, he’s impressed me greatly, he’s young, eager, tough and good on the ball. This potential move just makes sense to me

Maybe he's happy that club want to keep him around, he's happy at the 'workplace' and he's settled. He's obviously been given some guarantees regarding games (i.e. cup, sub, 1st choice for injury cover) which he's happy with - so I wouldn't jump to worry about his ambition just yet. Moving away from a good club you have a good relationship with isn't always the best choice - no guarantees the grass is greener etc...

I agree, every transfer move is a risk, there’s never a 100% guarantee of first team football at a new club for any player. Back to Hause, I think you seem to be saying that he is happy to be back up at our club, I don’t think that is a good mindset of any player. Every player in the squad should be fighting for first team football and be capable of performing at a certain standard

  10. He’s great cover but we can’t rely on him as a starter. I’m surprised that he hasn’t gone to The Championship or a lower Premier League team. He’s great in the air, not so good on the deck but what do you expect for £3m? He’s been a great purchase I think but I’d worry about his ambition if he was happy sitting on our bench and just picking up his wage packet

Only 2 players are undropable from this team. Martinez and Buendia

No player is undroppable, that would send a bad message to the rest of the squad. Every player has to fight for their place or squad and earn it

Is it at The Hawthorns? Edit- it’s at the New Buck’s Head stadium, Telford’s ground for anyone else

  13. Everton fans can boo and abuse him now, for me, he is a good player. Good value for the £9m we paid, I don’t want him to go edit- it’s with an option to buy, that’s a shame :(

Amazing that Clark is still a PL footballer.

He’s had a good career, I remember first seeing him when he was 17 years old, Feeney is on another level

Of what? Certainly not the first team. He may be very talented, he may be exceptional for his age, but he is not currently a star for Aston Villa

I think he could be, I’ve seen him quite a few times for us, this lad is exceptional, make no mistake. Some are ready at 16 years old, I think he could be, there’s a reason why he was linked with Man United and other big clubs. This lad is the future of Aston Villa and England

I'm supporting your comments....its great to get such plaudits.

I haven't seen him play....just enjoying the comments made by you and others.

He’s 16 years old and he plays like he’s 30 years old. He’s going to be a top player, I’d put my house on it, he just makes the game look so early (I am talking about Feeney here)
