  1. A letter :winkold: Dear Father, An update for you on my activities over the past fortnight. I have had the great pleasure of posting on a forum entitled VillaTalk. Literally, it means house of Aston (or east town) but don't ask me what it is really about - they sound like some sort of weird cult to me. One of them said it was to do with 'soccer' - one of those heathen sports things. Well, we've tried, Lord - but they won't accept the word of Messiah into their hearts. We gave them everything: The Formula 1 parable - how can they not see that an F1 car is like the world and the the bible is the world's Haynes manual (if Haynes were to produce a manual about F1 cars, that is). The logic of DNA/language/'a mind far greater than we could imagine'. We tried to get on side by agreeing with majority opinion on Iraq. We tried to sound reasonable by allowing for the existence of dinosaurs and tried to not sound like bible-belt creationist loons. It didn't work, though. All they have done is not believed and mocked. Yes, mocked. But of course we are not worried as this is just further proof of the Truth. Were not Noah, Moses and Jesus mocked? And as we have seen, possessing one or more similar traits means that two things are the same (see DNA/Language for clarification of the PROOF). I expect to see you soon, father, or in a while or just sometime down the road, really - just before the fire and brimstone consume the earth. One thing about which I am slightly concerned - do you have enough room for all 48 of us up there? I remain your servant, One of the (self-)chosen. or perhaps that's how it might go.
  2. Any good? The dream not the cheese.
  3. Leviramsey, very sorry about my accusing post. I think you can count yourself as thankful that that your ancestor moved from Kiddy, too. :winkold:
  4. Worcester - town? FFS, man, I know it's not a great place nor even a good one but it's a f***ing city. It is an integral part in British/English history - look to the civil war: battle/skirmish of Powick bridge and the 1651 battle of Worcester. Sort yourself out, please!!!!!!
  5. Also on the topic of the children. What is the case with Steven's daughter? In the rather confusing allegory he relates concerning his wife's 'consummation' with Mr Bent, he talks of a daughter just entering her 5th year. But there are no dates with which to corroborate her age. wayne's friend tosses his mix into the fire
  6. I think you've been a tad harsh on the ratings. I can't see how any of our guys got under 7 let alone under 6. We played really well and, though we failed to put Citeh away, I don't think it is a case for marking everyone down. I think the game was an example of when we play well, don't have a few things go our way and then, infuriatingly, draw. Gabby is not Terry Henry so shouldn't be expected to put away every chance - not that Mr Henry did BTW. Coker was an arse with the through ball to Gabby but otherwise had an excellent game; Young plays so much better on the left it is unbeleivable - though he was again very close to diving/hurdling/high jumping and I'd like to see him cut that crap out.
  7. The context in all entries remained identical or The context of all but one entry remained identical? You spoke too hastily and all contexts were identical? Jesus, Tel, you're struggling now, me old china.
  8. Sorry, Terry, you do talk crap. You stated that your edits changed the context of all but one post and then that 'in the light of your clarification' your edit did not even change the context of that post in the slightest. You need to sort yourself out if you are going to try and pass off guff like that, really!! Your style is as much to do with truth as Alastair Campbell, David Frum et al. only not as good, sorry.
  9. Thank you for an honest response. I wonder whether you could answer the two ensuing questions: How did the context change? And why did it change?
  10. It is true that I did go and proof read and edit most of my posts, but except for adding one line to one post as well as the song link, I only changed typos and bad grammar. The context of all but one entry remained identical as was posted. Isn’t that what the “edit” option is for? T.C. Which post's context did not remain 'identical' according to you? I'd say that the edit option is so that one can remove something which one realises should not be there, one can edit typos and grammar errors and one can clarify obvious mistakes. I would be worried that it seemed to have been an obsession rather than a hobby for you, Terry. Also, to have done it several times over a 5 period might imply something more calculating? Anyway, I thought you had retired?
  11. Well, Terry, so long, chum. I would countenance against comebacks after retirement - they rarely work out well. I'm afraid that, to my mind, the last few pages of posts from you and your fellow farmers have started to show your true colours. By their fruits and all that. I don't hate you, I hope I have not mocked you (too much) but I do definitely pity you. Having reread this whole thread, I find it very interesting that you have edited a large number of your posts over several days. A number of them do not bear a great resemblance to the original posts that I read and I don't think that goes, in any way, to your credit, I'm afraid. One last thing - having clicked on the youtube link to your song, I am genuinely moved. I could be facetious about the lyrics and the song but I recognize an impassioned plea when I see one. I'm genuinely sorry that there seems to be such a hole in your life left by your split from your wife and, seeing the vid, I hope it works out for you. You're obviously hurting and another's hurt gives me no enjoyment whatsoever. Bon chance, Snowdon.
  12. Snowy, as with a few other issues, you have no idea of what you are talking about. I have known Prudence for better than 17 years. She did not just stumble onto this site. Following/smearing us is a good part of her life. Yes, she googled as I did, but we are here for different purposes. Thanks for your attempt at an arrogant put down, Terry. Glad to see that you have not completely thrown off the shackles of your earthly nature. Sorry, I forgot. There is only goodness in your heart so if you say anything in an unpleasant way it is the target of your disparaging remarks who is unpleasant. Yada yada yada ....... ad infinitum. If god brought you here then I can certainly entertain the possibility that he brought her here too. As far as the how did he hurt you bit goes, how about the 'putting her on his lap and smothering her with kisses until she got over it'.
  13. Terry, as I said before you are putting someone down for doing what you have done. Perhaps she went to the search engine Google and typed Strong City and hit search? Somebody else did that, didn't they? Now let me think who it was - it was .... er ....... um ....... ah, that's it, it was Terry.
  14. I assume you mean the Messiah bit. Some time in 2000, I think.
  15. I'm glad to have been of some assistance to you. Two possibilities here : You are being honest, open and upfront and therefore you have a need for others to discern (and by implication help you discern) your true motives which would in turn imply that your motives are not honest, open and upfront, or You are being sarcastic in which case you were not being honest, open or upfront as you would not be thankful to me for providing a service of which you have no need.
  16. To paraphrase Terry, I would imagine that she believed she was striking down a lie with the truth. As I said above, she addressed the people on the thread. You addressed her and let us in on your 'letter'. If you had addressed us, as she had done, I would have had no problem with it.
  17. Nothing wrong with using the same venue, Terry, it was the method that was cheap. The technique she used was not at all genuine. In order to set the world straight, she should have talked to the world. Rather, she decided to write to her 'little Prudence' and make sure that she was overheard by the world. Prudence came on to the thread and addressed the thread/ the readers of the thread. Frankly, I think Joy's method was jolly undignified and an abuse of any relationship she has or had with her child.
  18. According to some I'm an MI5 agent so it would be fairly obvious which confessions were mine in said thread You're not doing very well at keeping quiet about it if you are. Or perhaps it's the double bluff - 'if I'm that open about it, they'll never believe it's true' sort of thing?
  19. Yes, we have email. But we also believe it striking down a lie by telling the truth. This was why I came to your thread. If Prudence would not spend her time stalking us, you would not have heard from her mother. If Ben would have told our story instead of fabricating his own, we would not be conversing rihgt now. So the letter was for the benefit of the thread and not for the benefit of Prudence? Cheap.
  20. So you see yourself as assisting in firing the bullet of practicality from the vet's gun. Generally, putting down an injured animal has little to do with the perceived idea of it being worse to let it suffer or being in the best interests of the animal: it is about the inconvenience to the humans of attempting to help the animal get better. It is on the whole down to practicality and cost. I find it a weird choice of analogy on your part to compare the washing away of the evil and misery on this planet with the most human (and not humane) of practices in weighing up the value of another creature's life. I think it is an apt analogy but obviously for different reasons than you. I think your position is more an abnegation of responsibility than an acceptance.
  21. Terry, pehaps you have empathy as well as sympathy because are you not also dedicating your life to following something around and putting across your view, i.e. the tv prog and the ensuing debate? I suppose it is the part of your message about which I most despair - that, apart from your group, we are all abusers, etc. That we are all responsible for the worst wrongdoings of those in our society. I would say that just because you choose to live in 'the wilderness' in New Mexico does not mean that you do not exist in our society. In fact your interactions on this forum and on the others would suggest that you actively take a bigger part in 'our' society than a great many others. And so I would put it to you that if I am responsible for all of the abuse that happens then you, too, are equally as responsible. I feel very ill at ease that anyone would be so vain and proud as to constantly proclaim their own perfection.
  22. Guilt issues with this dilemma? Or is it something that you should be visiting the anonymous confessions thread for? :winkold:
  23. Actually, Terry. It is a very good example of what goes on in all of the threads on the VillaTalk forum, i.e. banter and tongue in cheek responses. I very much doubt that anyone is on the 'phone to the local travel agents, booking tickets as we speak. Perhaps, it is a good thing that your children are exposed to many different forms of expression so that they can learn what is meant in jest and what is meant seriously.
  24. Yes, insurance companies do it every day, so do the NHS. If the drug is too expensive it doesn't get rolled out despite life saving potential. I wouldn't want to be the bean counter who makes that call. Ok. Sorry, I should have chosen my words slightly more carefully. Should you value human life in monetary terms? 'Ere - be careful about being disparaging about accountants, will you (the bean counter remark). I used to be one. Actually, no, scratch that. Be as disparaging as you wish - from a former accountant (part-qualified and saw the light before it was too late).
