  1. 186 votes and a 90% approval rating.

There's not a politician in the free world who has ever received 90%

I really don't understand the relevance of that considering he's not a politician in the free world. :?

Also politicians don't get voted in after they've been given the job, surely?

I'd have preferred someone younger as the manager personally, but I don't have a problem with Houllier. Not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed either.

  2. Haha, just seen on the advert they described the first fight as "a classic".

Klitschko doesn't do classics, he does jab and grab snoozefests....that's what this will be too, just like the first fight - unless Peter has lost his punch resistance that he had first time they met. That tends to happen with HW's that have had a few beatings.

Be nice if he lands on that china though, I'd be on ESB for 12 hours straight :)

  3. I assume the people involved in promoting the fight are currently scouring the internet looking at various boxing forums to see what the interest (or lack thereof) is in this bout. Assuming a lot of people are saying they would watch it, but are not shelling out £15 for a PPV, do you think there will be a staged tear up at the press conference and some fruity comments from both fighters Twitter accounts?

Highly likely yeah, but they ain't fooling anyone with this. It's one of the worst HW title fight match ups I can remember. Vitaly V Sosnowski wasn't much better, and Vitaly V Briggs will be as bad too.

The whole HW division sucks rats cocks at the moment if truth be told. I was hoping Haye would inject some excitement into it, turns out to have been in vain.

  4. **** paying for that, it'll be over in the first round.

I think the latest Wlad Klitschko debacle is free at the weekend at least, should be good for a laugh anyway. It'll be like gay come dancing with the occasional left jab thrown in, and Sam Peter will probably shake his taters from time to time to keep everyone awake.

God knows why Sky have bothered paying for that. If it's meant to build up a Haye fight then I don't see how boring anyone who watches it to death is going to work. How about showing a half decent fight like Lopez-Marquez, shit, I'd rather watch Limond-Morales than that crap.

They're paying for it because Peter decked glass Wlad 3 times in the first fight they had. Also because it's probably cheap. Can't see this fight ending well for Peter, he hasn't looked good to me since the last Wlad fight, and he didn't look particularly good before and during that to be honest.

  6. alcohol at room temperature is just wrong.

I thought you lot only drank beer when it was warm :?

Next you'll be telling me that you have attractive teeth!

Sauvignon Blanc is my preferred white grape (well, Riesling etc. are okay as well... just as long as it's not Chardofuckingnnay).

I'll ignore the first 2 comments for fear of setting the swear filters into overdrive.

With you on the last comment, I've never really given Riesling a go but maybe I should. First time I ever drank ice cold Sauvignon I was hooked in a big way though, stuck with it through thick and thin for best part of 5 years. For 'normal' consumption the Hardys one is great but the Nobilo one is exceptional.

  7. I don't often drink cider any more if I'm honest, more of a G&T man these days but Strongbow has been on offer the last few weeks and I'm skint so it's back to the tramp fuel for me for the time being

I have to say that if I drink cider I try to make sure it's decent (Aspalls/Westons or local stuff like Knights).

The red that I'm imbibing is pretty cheap (2 bottles of Hardy's VR is £8 at my local corner shop). The first bottle of red was quite nice - one on offer at the devil of Morrison.

That still means it's costing you £8 to get wankered while I'm doing the same for half that price.....24 cans of Strongbow for a tenner in Tescos at the moment.

Only difference is you won't be pissing in the wardrobe at 5am whereas I probably will be.

When I was a wine drinker I loved Sauvignon Blanc, ice cold. I seem to recall that Hardys was pretty good, as was Nobilo. I can't cope with red wine though, alcohol at room temperature is just wrong.

  8. Surely everything is one sure step towards the end of your life?

    Degrees, dear boy, degrees. :P

    (It sorts out de wheels)

You're sitting there drinking red wine so I guess we're in the same boat (HMS Suicide Mission)

That's a bloody awful pun too, no wonder you re-sized it :)

  9. Taurus Pear Cider from Aldi's it's very nice!! Big green 2ltr bottle £1.99 ..lasts me ages!

It's 5.3% and not sweet, which I find is the problem with most Pear Cider's they're simply too sweet!

It's in a Green bottle now.

2 litres lasts me ages too, about 2 hours normally

  10. That Mayweather quote sounds a bit racist!

Not only racist but ignorant as **** too (I guess the two go hand in hand anyway) He's talking about getting a man from the Phillipines to prepare Japanese food for him, what a berk.

If he'd said he was going to use his purse to buy Pac's 10 year old sister and pimp her out to Gary Glitter, then that would have been an amusing, geographically correct racist remark.

Not that I'm condoning it, mind. I'm no Alan Minter.

  11. the best whiskey in the world is made outside of Portrush, in the village of Bushmills;

    It is. Simple as that.

Did you drink Bushmills tonight Levi?

Indeed I did. Ireland's greatest contribution to the world? It definitely has to rank ahead of Guinness and to even try to put U2 in the same league as Bushmills is, well, batshit crazy.

So true....I always hated the shit out of whisky until a kind soul bought me a bottle of Black Bush for Xmas one year....I remember I drank it with stilton and home made pickled onions on the side, absolute heaven.

  12. Are you thinking of Witton_Lane?

    I try not to.

But I see where you are going (though I thought he had something to do with Hallow).

Oi I heard that really bad person :D

Yeah family used to live in Hallow, weird place, full of in-breds and Man United/Liverpool fans as I remember it. I got barred from the Royal Oak inside of 2 hours, my sister was so ashamed.

  13. Hope that is the truth....if he still goes ahead and fights Harrison I'll be majorly disappointed in the guy.

Time will tell I guess, but I reckon this Vitaly/Valuev thing is bollocks and Haye will be fighting Vitaly next - and from what I've seen in his last few fights, Haye will box his ears off and stop him in the mid rounds.

  14. And I was asking because Witton seems like the kind of person who would do something like that...

    You cheeky young scamp

Peter Sutcliffe was a 10 stone weakling. I assure you if I were to decide to follow in his footsteps I'd be using a mallet or a sledgehammer to do the job, ball-peins are for puffs.

Sutcliffe was a British hypejob & would have been KO'd by the USA ATG known as BTK. BTK is the truth

Sutcliffe was a bit of a mummys boy and puff but he did manage to score a respectable 13, what did BTK score on the massacre-ometer? Sutcliffe also gets bonus points for being a lorry driver and living up to stereotypes by the way.

A lower 10 but his resume is better, especially after something like a billion year retirement before coming back and getting busted. There was a pretty decent documentary on him on Crime and Investigation channel a few months ago

I'm with Witton on this one.

Dahmer and Nilsen have better resumees, and Nilsen wins out because

    a) He's British

    B) He's stil alive and causing problems

    c) He didnt get beat to death in clink like Dahmer

Having said all that, no-one beats that ATG that is Ted Bundy, now there's a real mans man.
