  1. Not far from Queens Park, just been up there walking the mutt in fact.

Mr Cresswell do you know of any decent Thai takeaways? I love Thai food but the only ones I know are all restaurants, can't be arsed with all that sitting down and being served shite.

New one opened on Harborne High street. I live near Fellows lane BTW, just off War lane.

Is that the one that's opposite the Vine? The one that does Chinese and Thai?

I think its opposite the LLoyds TSB bank. Menu looks alright.

Cheers for that mate, will be giving it a try forthwith. I'll PM you and let you know if it's any good :)

  3. I used to make my own curries but to be honest these days I just buy those Lloyd Grossman sauces and add more chillies if I want to give them a kick. They're extremely good if you've never tried em. The red Thai one made with king prawns is superb.

Shame the man himself is such a word removed really.

  5. Planty - get your phone out and ring the nearest Indian........

Like Witton said, if you want a starter Nargis Kebab is **** lovely.

As for main course, if you can handle it go for a Phaal.........it clears EVERYTHING in 24 hours and I'm talking from experience.

Or ask them to do you and Chicken and garlic madras with extra garlic: garlic is good for you

Nargis kebabs rule....egg, coated with spicy minced lamb, wrapped up in more egg

Follow that with a main course and a side dish that are heavy on the lentils like I do, and you've got a recipe for an arsehole that looks like the Japanese flag the day after

I've never had a phaal though, christ I drink half a bottle of Gaviscon after a couple of pints of cider, think a phaal would kill me.

  6. I'm having Indian tonight as it's payday - Nargis Kebab, Chicken Dansak, Nan bread and a side order of Tarka Dhal. Lentil overdose, which guarantees no end of toilet amusement the day after.

I'd go for the curry if I were you, nothing like vindaloo to clear a cold. If you're bed-ridden it'll soon cure that as well, unless you follow through in your sleep. Or something.

Whereabouts are you anyway? You said South Birmingham that doesn't really narrow it down in recommending good curry houses....

Great choices, haven't had a Dansak in ages. I'm in Yardley, so anywhere Sparkhill/Cov road would be great.

TRL, there aint many Vietnamise take-away's in Brum, believe it or not

Ah too far away for me to recommend anywhere then, I'm in Harborne. Over this way I could have directed you to some crackers.

Dhansak is the one dish I never get fed up with at Indians, love it. Getting a bit old for the bravado Vindaloos now  Again Tarka Dhal is a wonderful side, if you like Dhansak chances are you'll like that.

hey, I finally found another Villa fan in Harborne! Where abouts are you then mate?

  9. Always were?

    Like ****.

They were one of the best bands on gods earth between 94-96.

'one of' the best bands in the world over a two year period?

I take it all back then, sorry they're at least as good as The Beatles or The Stones

  10. just because he was a Villa supporter.

Was he??? Bloody hell you live and learn.....

I'll be taking party poppers, balloons, paper hats, jelly, ice cream, cheese and pineapple on sticks, cake etc etc in a hamper to share out during the minutes silence personally, and I couldn't give two Dougs what his family thinks.

Where's Ranting when you need him anyway, got to hear his input on this one

  11. i hope he stays. It makes you wonder why we bought dj-dj though. mccann, hendrie, berson, hitz, davis. With solano and barry also capable of moving, it make syou wonder. IMO, dj-dj is the worst out of the lot of them, i hope davis gets a game though, he looks quality. DOL bought the wrong sort of player if you ask me.

I know you shouldn't judge after a couple of games but from what I've seen Djemba Djemba brings nothing to the team that Berson doesn't...stinks of panic buying to me. If O'Leary lets Hitz and Berson go in the summer and keeps Djemba Djemba I'll start to think he's maybe lost the plot.

  12. And you still probably wonder why the silly old sod doesn't take you seriously?

Even if my own business was not being run well, I'd probably decline to take business advice from an inarticulate 15 yo in a baseball cap who wants to sing silly songs who's witty punchline is "who the fock is Ellis".

Awaits inevitable bile spilling forth from the green eyed ellis haters. Who still dont see the point. Or just accuse me of not caring because I dont want to sing your silly songs. Do your worst.

That's it then, we may as well all sit down all game, put the tartan blankets over our knees and drink Bovril, cos we're all scum that don't deserve an opinion.

I'd be interested to hear what this 'point' of yours is, seeing as you can obviously see things that 40,000 others can't. I'd be even more interested to hear why you used a full stop when you should have used a comma in your post. Fancy accusing Dan of being an inarticulate 15 year old and then making a basic error like that! Pride comes before a fall and all that....
