Seems odd that Ollie might be the top scorer and the top assist maker in the league this season and not be in the running for Footballer of the Year.

Has to be in the reckoning but all the talk is Foden. Guessing Palmer will win the young one.

As I've said before aside from running around endlessly (and seemingly always being three yards offside in attacks) what does Nunez actually do in the big games? Another sitter he missed today and he should've done better in the first half when he got away from their young CB.

Mediocre passer aswell, I'm still not quite seeing it and he's been here two years now.

The front three are nowhere near as good as the one with Mane and Firminho..Nunez gets into the goal scoring positions  frequently but he's a poor finisher. Could still come good though as he's strong, good pace and is a handful to mark

Not a good look for the Premier league that these independent commissions keep on ignoring their recommendations for points deductions.

Apparently with this latest charge premier league wanted to deduct five further points from Everton. Fairly sure aswell any proven breach would be -3 so for the commission to actually find the club guilty but then insist they get a much lower punishment than what the premier league want isn't a great look for them and I'm fairly sure given who it's gone this season pretty much all the premier league clubs will be voting to scrap this so the status quo will remain even more tightly snug over the next decade.

Everton's biggest challenge now is not to fall into administration as they're in danger of that if this 777 takeover doesn't happen for them soon. And that will be a fixed -9 points deduction for next season.

Weren't Forest net looses greater than those of Everton and thr fact they had already be done for the same crime before (2 of the 3 years) had an impact.  8 point penalty seems just but they have to do the same to every other team that breaks the rules. We have to be careful who we side with here as it could impact us in the next year or two.

Interesting video.  He looks quite comfortable doing the sprints to the player makers and arguably fully fit, then seems to hobble back to the central position looking like he has no confidence in his legs.

Great sign that he's progressing though,  far more intensity in those little bursts than the last video I saw of. The way he plays you just know he'll be desperate to get out there and working towards a bench appearance this season. That would be quite some achievement for him! And hopefully our physios do a better job than they have done with other players of late and don't let him do that before he's ready!

Looks fitter than some of those playing on Saturday, get him in. 😉

  5. He has had to carry the midfield the last few games. He's a number 8 not 6 imo. If we had a decent replacement for Kamara Luiz could strut his stuff further up the pitch.

If we can see that, why can't the refs

All that money they spend on VAR, an they may aswell just rewind the Sky feed. 🤣

He didn't get the ball either and he went over his other leg.

Look the season has been great, lets get that Elephant in the room out of the way, to start with.

We have let 2 goal leads slip, too many times this season, for it not to be a concern....and the main concern is the manner of the collapses.

Pau Torres, is not solely responsible for them either....that's out the way, too.

The defensive side of our game, needs scrutiny and forensic examination.....I see things during a game, that concern me, as do others I guess. I am not suggesting Unai changes his football philosophy, but I am suggesting we concede too many and too easily....and I do not share the view, the forwards have to cover for that, by scoring more, and missing less chances, as some propagate....I don't accept that trade off.

Its largely the manner of those goals conceded yesterday, that's the major concern......The opposition never laid a glove on us, before the infamous 9 minutes.....Then they smelt a rat, we was standing off, and that was the incentive they needed.

Paul Torres, played his part, but it wasn't all on him.

Konsa, stopped Vinicius Jnr, but couldn't stop Reguillion?.....It was collective incompetency and in no way was Unai, expecting that.

Pau Torres is a fine footballer, and I'm glad we have him....but he is missing, crucially adept players who can compliment his skill set.

When we see teams, with physically adept players like VVD, Rodri, Gabriel or Saliba......it has a significant effect on those teams.....We miss Mings and Kamara.....and so does Pau.

I think Arsenal will win the league this time because Declan Rice has added that steel to the midfield. Its something we haven't got especially without Kamara. But even with him at times our defence has looked vulnerable. When Bailey plays teams double up on him. We don't seem to do that to opposition teams. Too many crosses allowed to come in. It's hard to believe we are 4th when we are so vulnerable in certain areas.  Different to the end of last season when we were hard to score against. Injuries to Mings. Kamara I guess.

    A major issue for me.

Its like school kids who only want to play when they have the ball.....It's not a team who is designed to go after the ball and hunt the ball down. We simply do not have enough players in the team with a nose for it. We have no one to come close to Rodri or Rice, Kamara is our closest and even he gets caught in threatening positions....sadly even though we miss him, he's out until next year......This role is crucial to get right.

Far too many times this season, we have let a 2 goal lead slip.....and let's be clear here, it's not just against the top sides. So the notion that we haven't got the level of talent like them,  is misleading. Our talent leans heavily towards offensive play, both in numbers and in style

We are 4th, because we have an abundance of offensive players, who often show a very competent standard......defensively, we cannot say the same....and the stats don't lie.

We simply cannot expect to just out score teams, its naive.

Under the circumstances the season as a whole has been great....but we are now in danger of choking, and its not the offensive side, that letting us down.

We have one of the best Goalkeepers around, it's inconsiderate how as a team, we protect him.

I think Unai, has a big job on to address these issues.

We have imo the best keeper in the Premier League and pound for pound the best striker in the Premier League. Haaland may one more  goal but his contribution apart from scoring is negligent.

Much of the talk, implies its a one off.....and it's not....and how can we be sure it's not going to happen again....we can't.

Yes what is glaring is our lack of physicality. Most players are well down on duels won, which I guess is not a totally accurate stat, but when yiu see it happen week in week out its a problem area. We are very good with the ball but not so good without it.

  10. Yes.yesterdsy I don't know whst happened to him. Caught in no man's land for first. Pathetic attempt to cut our the cross for 2nd. Maybe its mental.fatigue as much as anything. But overall he's done a great job at rb. Wasn't thst long ago many were slagging off Cash for same stuff. Now we need him back.

  11. A stat was mentioned yesterday. The win percentage with him in is really high compared to when he's not playing. Yesterday he had a brain freeze. But he's been a fantastic signing and we wouid not be 4th without him. Wouldn't say he's player of the year. Ollie wins that hands down but he's in the next group with Luiz, Bailey and McGinn.

That back four combination has rarely worked.

Konsa and Torres is the best CB partnership we have, Diego and Torres do not work together that well. Even Lenglet seems to give more balance alongside Torres than Diego.

Konsa has been quality this season, hopefully this was just a one off. Hopefully Cash comes back soon.

It worked against Man City and Arsenal.at home though.  If I look back at all the goals we conceded with Lenglet in the team I bet its far worse. Today was a offday or just an off few minutes.
