With how much his finishing has improved, I'm not so sure of that anymore. Tielemans maybe.

Yes the old Ollie maybe but I'd back him.to score now.

I wouldn’t mind him starting Duran and Diaby, resting Watkins and Bailey. Give Lenglet and Cash some minutes if they are fit so Cash can be ready to start at RB for either Lille or Bournemouth.

After yesterday’s results, I had a sneaky bit of optimism about this game but now back to thinking pragmatically. Today won’t define our season but Thursdays might, that’s the priority.

I hope Emery picks his best team today. Arsenal might be considering the same.  There's an opportunity to get a result here..

How did we lose4-0 to this lot? They're shit away.

    I could probably understand a 1-0 loss, but 4???

I know it's hard to understand that.  Guess Emery for once got his tactics wrong and the sending off.

  4. He's at fault for the goal but whatever combination we pick we still concede too many goals from crosses. Whether it be konsa, lenglett, pau., Carlos we conceded too many. Think without Mings we have nobody that can take charge in the area.

  5. The potential is there for all to see. Does the occasional dodgy thing like a misplaced pass or losing the ball in his own half but he's learning and getting used to his team mates.

Martinez mate… should be 3-1 to them. We’re shyte at the back.

To be fair we hsve had a few half decent chances ourselves. Martinez hss kept us in it though. Watkins a real threat but Bailey wasteful.

I wouldn't sell Ollie for anything this summer and we have no incentive to do so for a few reasons.

    • 5 year contract signed in 2023 - unless he makes a stink, have no reason to move - and doesn't seem to be the type to do so unless player and club found a way
    • A scarcity in the CF position - very few true CF positions out there that can do it all back to goal, linking play, getting in behind, and scoring. These are the only players at that level with Ollie for me
      • Kane
      • Haaland - weaker link up play and back to goal
      • Benzema - older
      • Lewandowski - older
      • Osimhein
      • Then a giant cliff to the next set of players
    • Unreal fitness

This set of combinations has always made him hard to replace but now that he's being played as an out and out striker instead of a quasi left forward for most of his career, you're really seeing the counting stats pile up.

You sell him you go backwards. It might make financial sense but would rather sell.any other player than Watkins

Yeah, but he doesn't raise his arm or catch Gabriel in the face.  His arm stays low so, whilst entirely intentional to catch Gabriel, I think a yellow is the right call.

It looked deliberate and did catch him in the face. If people think Maddison shouid be sent off for a tiny little punch then Kane is a definate red.

Guess swings and roundabouts as Bayern should have had a penalty
