Well, Germany have just won gold in the women's team sprint. They actually finished second, yet the Chinese were demoted due to the changeover. Basically Germany won it by default as the officials decided to relegate GB and the Chinese. That's a bit of a hollow gold as they didn't even deserve it...

Whatever the case (relegated or disqualified) the blame lies with the riders. They know the rules and Pendleton went too soon.
