  1. We've got a handball team?! I can't see that going well to be honest.

You missed the GB football match off your list by the way, which starts at 7:45 I think. On the theme of football, Brazil looked bloody brilliant just then. Cruised to a 3-1 win over Belarus.

  2. Gutted that I'm in work over the next couple of weeks. Although most of the good stuff coming up will be in the evenings anyway...

What are you all watching now then? I've got diving on my PC and tennis on the TV. I'm switching between other stuff on my laptop too. GB football match later and swimming finals, so it should be a good night ahead too.

Ended up switching over from the basketball as USA have pretty much won that now.

  3. Watched El Orfanato tonight, not particularly scary but very very sad. Great film. A very clever, intelligent and well thought film.

Not scary? I guess that depends on your definition of scary. It made me very, very uncomfortable at times, that for me is enough to warrant it's "horror" tag.

Agree with the rest though, magnificent film. Is it your first foray into Spanish cinema? Let me recommend The Devils Backbone, Amores Perros, REC, Celda 211 and of course Pans Labyrinth if it is. If not, you've probably seen all of them in which case, ignore me.

Some great suggestions there, for Spanish language I'll just throw in The Maid, Volver, Sin Nombre, Bad Education, Satanás, Y Tu Mamá También, The Sea Inside and Maria full of Grace.

And of course, everyone should watch Secret in their eyes, which is easily one of the best movies ever made (imo of course)

All very good films and The Secret in Their Eyes is probably one of the best films (foreign certainly) ever made, as you said. The football pitch scene and lift scene are both escpecially great.

I'll add The Holy Girl, Love's A Bitch, Biutiful, All About My Mother and Like Water For Chocolate. Also being a big fan of Guillermo del Toro I can't leave out Cronos.

  4. There is a top section that says 'featured'. Press up on your remote to make sure you're on that tab. Then move it right to the section that says 'sports'. Beside this should be letters of the alphabet and when you go to them they will have the sports listed under them. You can click on any that are currently on and watch them.

I've switched over to the USA women's basketball game now.

  5. What channel is the handball on?

I'm not sure what channel it's on as I've been using the red button to go to the various sports. Go to BBC1 and click the red button.

Once you've done that you can go through a menu of all the sports that are on and select the one you want to watch.

By the way, has the GB women's match been good so far? I'm still watching the tennis. Keothavong is doing quite well for us here, although things may just be shifting.

  6. There go our hopes of a medal that we thought was nailed on. The GB team should have broken away when that last group went. That was the time and they missed it. Things weren't helped by those behind either as no other team was willing to step up and help keep the pace. Eisel tried to be fair, yet the Germans could have done more.

    Such a shame...
