I've just watched Rooney be interviewed on Sky Sports Football. "Errr, obviously, I'm still working things out, err, obviously...".
He seemed a tad nervous (or hungover) bless him.

I've been into the office a few times this week. I thought I probably should to give some "face time" to my team for those in (not that they can't reach me remotely and I chat to them all daily anyway). It was like a ghost town, hardly anyone in. I then had to book meeting rooms to have delicate conversations with people that I could do quite easily at home with nobody else listening in. The travel in wasn't nice with the rain (and it being dark!), and as I usually start work at 7AM it was early starts for both days. I didn't take in my own lunch so popped down to the restaurant / canteen and it was £4 for a basic ham and cheese sandwich! I've also realised that I get so much more done at home. I'll probably aim for a day or so in the office per week going forward but for now .

Approaching cars at night when I was walking on the rural road my grandparents lived on when I visited them. Something about the dark, quiet stillness of the night being interrupted by a distant car engine that grows louder, and then the white haze cast upon the treetops and then the beams themselves as the car appears and the driver has me in his sights, exposed on the side of the road. Sometimes I would hide behind a tree before they could see me.
When I'd return home, cars and traffic were everywhere, and more perilous, but they didn't bother me at all. Only in the country.
Slightly related, but this movie had its moments when I was a kid.

The UK Foreign Office has advised against all travel to Lebanon.
UK citizens currently in the country are being urged to leave while commercial flights are available.

Not for Free Palestine, but just because I was hoping to hit Nicholas Witchell with some Dulux pepper red matt emulsion.

Israeli PM is to hold a news conference shortly. I expect he is to announce that the ground operations in Gaza have started, expect things to escalate quickly, state that they are doing all it can to avoid civilian casualties but Hamas will be destroyed (or something along those lines).
EDIT: Okay, not quite.

I used to have an @budweiser.com email address (true story). They were free back in 2005.
I ditched it when applying for jobs and went back to my gmail account .

It's ironic that Russia has called for "restraint and immediate ceasefire".

Have you seen the Dando documentary on Netflix?
Not yet but I suppose I should. I've heard people like Nick Ross refused to appear in it though (I could be wrong on that point).

This is fine.
I jest but we need to do something. The crowd is flat and we're in danger of giving up before the more exciting stuff begins. Do something, please, Villa.

You can't save lives is my point .
You are definitely going to die whether you smoke or not . If you ban everything that kills then is it even a life of freedom ?
I would argue that reducing the ability to smoke (or removing it completely) may well "save" many lives. The Cambridge Dictionary states life as "the period between birth and death, or the experience or state of being alive". If my Mom didn't start smoking would she had suffered lung cancer that may have taken her prematurely? If my Dad hadn't started smoking would he suffer the progressive effects of COPD that at some point might well kill him, not to mention his kidney cancer (that we think and hope is currently under control)?
Thankfully both are still alive (screw you cancer, and screw you cancer sticks).
