Isn't it nice when you break up with someone and find out you dodged a bullet as they show their true colours as a result? This happened yesterday with the girl I was with, who I thought was nice (we didn't argue), but I just wasn't into it in the end. After I finished it (Facebook and called, as she doesn't live with me), she had a philosophical rant at me - saying I 'wasted her time' and such, because I didn't tell her earlier about it (she was also pissed about me not talking to her at all earlier in the day as I was mulling the situation over) - before making it into some kind of SATC episode on her blog for her friends to fawn over and be Z-FORMATION ANGRY about.
Ah well, it's going to like having a second paycheck again for a while.
Now you have to link the blog

Fair enough. Slightly worryingly a pharmacist I know didn't know that either.

Sellotape is a brand name. Why do you think Blue Peter have to call it sticky back plastic?
There are plenty of examples of where brand names become generic terms. Some of the more famous ones would be Coke (for cola) Asprin (headache tablets) and Tipp Ex (correction fluid) but there are scores of examples. There is probably a list on the internet somewhere.
Aspirin is the name of the drug, I'm guessing you mean nurofen instead of ibuprofen or something like that?

Both Downing and Villa have stated that this pic is faked.
Obviously not enough for some...
The version I saw had two sets of hands holding the scarf at the Downing end, so it must have been photoshopped and was a fake.
Not seen a different version, but maybe someone has?
See the two pairs of hands holding the scarf Downing's end? Impossible. It's a fake
It's the scarf's tassles. There aren't 2 hands. You can see it more easily on the zoomed in photos earlier in the thread. As for those saying the scarf's been 'shopped in, why would the woman be pinching her fingers like that if she wasn't holding a scarf?
Downing's going to say it's a fake isn't he? I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to antagonise the fans even more.

I just don't see Andy Carroll as the kind of bloke that tweets 'Stewart and I' ...
He also has a grand total of 270 followers which seems highly suspicious to me.

That one of the ads on the site is offering me a Blackburn season ticket. I thought these things were supposed to be targeted?

And again we're still ignoring the fact Martinez didn't even want to talk to us.
Just out of interest, where does it say 'he' didn't want to talk to us?
Roberto met with his chairman earlier this week and he has made the decision to honour his commitment to Wigan. Therefore, we have not met Roberto and we have not had the opportunity to discuss the vacant managerial role with him.
-
Just someone pretending to be the ITK who used to be here and is now at H&V. Just after some attention and I'm not going to give it to him.
Please get your facts right people.
The MM on H&V is ITK but was driven off here by morons who questioned and insulted him with no real knowledge of who he was.
The MM on twitter is in no way related to the real MM and is likely a fraud.
That's what he said!

Just read kendrick's tweet so it's not then.

Could it not be Hughes, with the moonwalking referring to Fulham?

Steve McClaren has categorically denied having any contact with Aston Villa over their vacant manager's job.
McClaren has been strongly linked with the Villa Park hot-seat, and reports suggested he was set for an interview with the club's American owner Randy Lerner.
But the former England chief's camp have reacted with fury at the speculation suggesting he was set to meet with Lerner, only for the interview opportunity to be withdrawn after a negative reaction from Villa fans.
Sources close to McClaren, told skysports.com: "There has been no contact whatsoever with Steve.
"He was not due to have an interview and has not spoken with Randy Lerner or anyone connected with Aston Villa.
"He is not saying he would not be interested, but there has been no contact whatsoever."
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is currently odds-on-favourite for the role after being given permission to talk to Villa.
Goes exactly with what MYSTERYMAN said, so I definitely believe him when he says that our next manager will cause a 'bent meltdown'
I think you are going to be mightily disappointed then.

Villa on verge of choosing new boss
Wednesday 8th June 2011, 9:40AM BST.
Villa are today on the verge of appointing a new manager and the Express & Star understands they could name Gerard Houllier’s replacement before the weekend.
Owner Randy Lerner and chief executive Paul Faulkner are understood to be close to finalising their choice for the job, after secret talks with prospective candidates took place over the past 48 hours.
The identity of the new man is being kept under wraps while the finer details are ironed out, although former England coach Steve McClaren and current Wigan manager Roberto Martinez are thought to be among the frontrunners.
Ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has also been strongly linked to the vacancy and his agent today refused to comment on rumours that he has held talks with the claret and blues.
Former Villa captain Gareth Southgate insisted that McClaren would have nothing to prove if he is handed the Villa job, despite the lukewarm reception supporters have given the news that he is among the contenders.
Southgate, who lifted the League Cup and reached the UEFA Cup final under McClaren at Middlesbrough, dismissed suggestions the 50-year-old lacked credentials.
The former defender, who McClaren signed for Boro from Villa for £6.5million in 2001, said: “There seems to be, when he’s linked with a job, a negative reaction from people.
“Yet if you look at him as someone who has been the assistant manager at Manchester United, the England manager, won a championship abroad and had a great deal of success with Middlesbrough, then you start to think why wouldn’t he be in the frame?
“Unfortunately we’re always tainted by things which didn’t go so well in our careers but there’s a lot Steve has done right.
“We’re talking about a job which has proved difficult for many outstanding managers and coaches and I look at Steve’s record at other clubs and it’s very strong.”
McClaren rebuilt his reputation with Twente in Holland, winning the Eredivisie in 2010, before moving to German outfit Wolfsburg – where he was sacked in February.
But Southgate, the FA’s head of elite development, reckons McClaren will not simply walk into the job.
He said: “Steve’s a hard working coach who wants to improve all the time. But it’s a job which will be coveted and there are good people who would do an excellent job out there.
“Randy Lerner and the board seem very well organised. They had a difficult season last year as when you lose your manager days before the start it’s going to have an impact.”

Although I'm not worried about Bent leaving, I believe he came out with something very similar last summer when he was at Sunderland.

I wouldn't get excited about that tweet. He's just read an article from goal which in turn has regurgitated the Daily Mail article. Nothing to see here.

How much could someone bet on a manager, based on some inside info, without getting in trouble?
I got Rafa at 18-1 earlier in the week, so tell me it's him and make me very happy........
Sorry, was watching the match...didn't mean to be a tease. David Moyes.
I got 19-1 on BetFair which is pretty good I think.
Is this THE insider or a different one?
-
Biased?! Ha! Since when were mods not allowed to have opinions. The idea that we shouldn't have concerns or worries about a manager just because Randy appointed him is ludicrous. I'd be much more concerned if people weren't upset after the season we've just had. I wish him the best of health, but Villa and Houllier were a poor match.
-
you have to consider the 'facts' that he has won more in his career than Aston Villa have in their history.
Strange 'facts' those.

As much as you want. You can't get in trouble for have info, but you might get your 'insider' into trouble for leaking it
Plenty of people have already made big bets on Rafa anyway!
-
Maybe Rafa will bring along that tactical genius whose name escapes me?
Pako Ayestarán
Edit- Beaten to it by the scouser

Well Rafa is the bookies new Fav now!
they haven't got a clue, nobody has
This..
Thing is a number of very large bets have just been put on Benitez. Either someone has given out some duff ITK stuff or someone genuinely knows that's something's in the pipeline.
-
Yeah, he's favourite with a lot of bookies now. Somewhere in Merseyside a taxi's just crashed into a tree.

from a source: Ancelotti seen outside VP.
What source is this?
Whisky I reckon, could be vodka though.
