I was at the pub today and thought I recognised the bloke at the bar next to me. Eventually realised it was Dougie Brown (cricketer not comedian).

The coach of the Bulgarian tennis player who reached the semis of Wimbledon (can't remember her name) is coached by her Dad. Whcih is fine.. except her Dad can't actually play tennis.

Probably Hughes, but so long as they still want Sidwell I don't care! (Or even better they want to take him to Liverpool).

Centipede's dont actually have 100 legs.
Does a Miliband have a million legs?

Edgar Davids.
Eagerly awaiting 3-D TV since 1992.
i like
And me, I laughed far too much at that!

There was the worry with 32Red that it would look like "Bored", there was the worry with Acorns that the Acorn would look like a bellend. Always turns out alright.

Premier League Sponsorship Earnings 2007-2008
Rumoured figure of 6 million puts into perspective how big this sponsorship is.
Wow, Northern Rock really misjudged that one. Not the first time I guess.

VT. I've come on today and this is the first site I've been on other than my emails. I check facebook a few times a day but don't actually spend much time on there.

We are closer, genetically speaking, to a chimpanzee, than a chimpanzee is to a gorilla.
Chimpanzee that.

This thread made me feel a tad guilty. Read a lot, but don't post so much, so chucked a few quid in.
No Lion for me though
Lion only comes for donations of £10 or more.

"Free header for Heskeeey.... he's put it wide"

Having spoken to people in the know:
There are three servers which for hosting, power and bandwidth cost around 50 quid each per month. This doesn't reflect the costs of buying them in the first place, nor the erratic revenues from ads and donations. Nor does it reflect the time that Simon puts into running the site. Which he (obviously) is not paid for.
I imagine that's more than most people thought. Certainly more than I did.

His name is Rio and he's watching from the stands...

There are two options that are the same up there and I think one needs altering
So there are. Second one (fourth option) should say "don't donate" but it won't let me edit it. Presumably only mods can edit polls.

Villa every time. I'd have taken a league cup win over England winning the World Cup let alone a top 4 finish.

Can't remember where I heard this, so can't be 100% sure of it but...
Despite Brazil being famous for attacking and Germany for defending Germany have conceded as many goals as Brazil at WC finals.

If Limpid gets money from us clicking on the links on the left.. well.. click the f*ckers people!
Only the video I believe (you have to watch it to the end for it to count).
-
By that I mean reading and posting rather than just having it in the background.
Just wondered as I was thinking about how much this sits costs to run and how many hours all of us (including myself) spend on this site without really thinking of the cost of it. For those who don't donate is there anything else you do for that amount of time that you don't pay for? You pay for TV through tv licence, you pay for use of the internet through your internet service provider but none of that goes to the servers that Villatalk users.
Just thought it was worth thinking about. Do people actually ever think about how much this site costs to run? I can't say I do that often, but perhaps we should a bit more often. While the site is free to use. Which I think we all appreciate, it's not free to host and run. I'm sure Simon (Limpid) would appreciate a bit more help anyway. Or at least the occasional click on the video on the left.
This isn't about being a better fan, or a more valued user. I'm just interested to see.
edit: 4th option should say "don't donate"

Stamford Bridge,

City of Manchester Stadium,
Goodison Park,

So 23.
Well, 20 of the 92.

So it's him not you that's counting ones that aren't actually one of the 92 that are currently being used then!

Newcastle (dunno why i have never been up there before)
Because it's miles away and full of Scottish people?
edit: Depending on where you live of course

Found out the other day that my Preston supporting mate had been to exactly half of the grounds of the teams in the football league. So I decided to count up how many I've been to and think it's 10.
Villa Park (Aston Villa)
The Sty (Small Heath Aliance)
Keepmoat Stadium (Doncaster Rovers)
Ewood Park (Blackburn Rovers)
Turf Moor (Burnley)
Reebok Stadium (Bolton Wanderers)
City of Manchester Stadium (Manchester City)
Fratton Park (Portsmouth)
Elland Road (Leeds United)
Valley Parade (Bradford City)
Others not included in the 92 would be:
Wembley
Millennium Stadium
Doncaster's old ground (Belle Vue or something)
Highfield Road (while it was still Coventry's ground obviously)
And then a few abroad and a few non-league.
I imagine that's at the lower end of the scale of you well travelled bunch. So how many have you been to (roughly if you don't remember).
Edit: I realise that there's no option if you've been to a league ground that isn't VP and not any other. I imagine that's not many of you though....

i think zigic is pretty good, i guess we will see during the world cup how good he is. but they need some good crossers as he is low as hell.
will be a threat at corners thats for sure
for 6,8 though is goal scoring record is quite poor
he is a poor header of the ball which isnt good for a 6 foot 8 player
Is that the opposite of good touch for a big man?

Love it. Spent the afternoon in the garden of a local pub with a good looking girl having a few drinks. Great stuff.

Heard this on the radio earlier. Ridiculous that anyone would see working with a dugout support could be more attractive than working in the prem (well for a season anyway).
