I got mugged on my own doorstep in Leeds by some words removed on my way back from my last ever night out in Leeds. Called the police (when I got in as they took my phone), they were within 2 minutes. When they heard I had a brain tumour and had hit my head off the pavement they took me to hospital, waited with me while I was checked out and dropped me home about 6 in the morning. Was very very impressed with them.
Been less impressed with them sorting that scamming tosser who came on here pretending to sell league cup final tickets.

If Houllier can get Heskey playing well every week then he's worth a punt on that basis alone.
Honourable mention for Guzan too. I thought he looked a lot more impressive than Blackburn last year when he just couldn't deal with crosses at all. Couple of decent saves too.

The ones I know want Derbyshire to play above Zigic.
Isn't Zigic already tall enough?
I 'm ashamed to say I laughed at that!

The ones I know want Derbyshire to play above Zigic. Any time we talk about him it inevitably comes down to them saying "he's shit".

I like the way they're saying it's his first visit since 1983 or whatever it was. They do realise it's not the same bloke right? It's like saying that when David Cameron went to Afghanistan it wasn't the first time as Tony Blair and Gordon Brown had been there before.

The Star reporting we were booed off. Am I going deaf or something?

Went up on the hill behind my house to look out over the mass today. Couldn't really see much, just the big screen, some food stands and some people. So I went up on the hill on the other side of the road... and there was a clear view of the stage. No police around at all. A sniper could have had a completely slear shot at him. Was amazed that they'd spent so much on security yet managed to miss this prime spot. Luckily (for them) no-one wsas up there with a gun.

Sorry he didn't just fix it. He fixed it after he was dead. Some guy prayed to him (didn't know people prayed to cardinals but it seems they do) and then his back got better.
Can't beat indisputible proof like that.
-
Has anyone else seen the 'miracle' Cardinal Newman supposedly did? He fixed someone's bad back. Wow. Well worth a beatification.

Hmm subscribed a couple of months ago - no gold lion
Did you remember to put your VT username on the form? If not I'd pm Limpid if I were you giving your real name so he can match up the name with your username.

Whilst in Cofton Park yesterday a guy approached me wearing comedy glasses and a fake moustache. He kissed me on the forehead and muttered something in German. As he walked away I realised that it was the pope...
It was a blessing in disguise...

Just found out they're going to shut Lickey Road (the dual carriage way that carries on after the Bristol Road finishes up to where the Pope's going) is going to be shut just the SIXTEEN hours before he arrives. Pathetic. Explain that one to me... It means that when I go into town for my mate's birthday on Saturday I can't get home again without a massive hassle. Good stuff popey.

He's French, He's smart, He's got a dodgy heart, Houllier Houllier!
He's French, he's back, he's had a heart attack Houllier, Houllier.

If you think the rest of you are pissed off I got told this morning that my tumour's still growing after this third different type of chemo so probably going to have to see if I can get on a clinical trial or something. Thought the footballmight cheer me up. No such luck.

No MOTM poll? I'd go with Gabby. Great first half, anonymous second really but still best of an average bunch. Reo-Coker wasn't too bad either I guess.
-
questionable free kick
To call it 'questionable' I can only imagine that you were the ref. Surely everyone else just thinks it was a hideous hideous dive.
Good first half, poor second. If only Ash could head the ball. Ridiculous that we didn't bring any subs on to try and address the problems we were clearly facing. Cuellar would have helped for one. He's from the MON school of subs it seems.
Get Houllier in ASAP.
-
Basically both our fullbacks are smallish so I wouldn't drop Luke...instead would put Carlos in there so we know for the throw ins we have Carlos, Collins and Dunney all to head the ball away.
Alternatively, put Carlos back in at RB, switch Luke to the left and push Warnock on to left midfield and drop Downing.
Considering the average height in this country is 5ft 9" anything below i say is smallish but 5ft 10" is a decent height gabby,Tyson was 5ft 11"
I personally know plenty of shit 6ft plus footballers and plenty of excellent less than 5ft 9"....generally 6ft players are slower than smaller players thats why 10 messi ot 10 crouches in a team would never work,so we wouldnt sign ashley cole because he is to small to play for Villa ?
He's talking about the average height of the Stoke team though, which is considerably taller. And he didn't say too small to play for Villa. He said we need tall players to play against Stoke because of the size of them and way they play.
Not massively controversial I don't think.

Leader of possibly THE WORST cult in the world, in terms of impact on humanity. Evil evil religion
LOL. As bad as the Catholic Churchs track record is (and it is), plenty of other Christian sects have as bloody and discriminatory a record as the RCC.
Anyway, seeing as ye Brit Taxpayers seemingly have no problem on spending 10s of millions every year to subsidise the head of the Anglican Church, whats 12m to ye to throw a party for the head of the UKs 2nd largest religion?.
Who said we didn't have a problem with it? I certainly do.
Moi aussi
And me

There comes a point when Villa fans have to stop looking backwards at the remote past when teams like Spurs, Chelsea and many, many, many others weren't even in the league structure
There also comes a point where Spurs fans have to go back to their own forum (which is so special no annoying opposition fans post on it). But still.

Surprised (but pleased) to see no chants to the tune of Who Let the Dogs Out for Hou Houllier.
(Who let the frogs out)

I thought I posted in here about Ireland and Gabby, but clearly not. Anyone know what their latest injury update is, are they available tomorrow?

G20, London. Cost £50m. How many of them did you have the chance to go and meet?
A meeting of the leaders of the most powerful countries in the world. Imagine the problems we'd face poliically if we allowed he Chinese leader to be killed in our country. We'd spend far more repairing the political famage. While it's expensive it's important World leaders meet imo.
I wonder if we'll be having official visits for other Religious figures and wasting so much money on that.

**** the pope
Whatever turns you on I guess but he's really not my type.
Totally useless information/trivia

I remember seeing a Renault advert in Finland and instead of saying "Creatore d'automobile" (or whatever it says over here". It just said "we make cars" (in English).
