  1. Thought i'd pop in here to see what's happening as I don't normally do politics due to the nature the contentiousness of the subject.

I always vote though and keep my vote between me and the ballot box.

    Here's my pennies worth.

The absolute state of British politics and all the respective parties. I don't think the standards have ever been as low as they are today.

imo, we have a choice of shit, shitter, shittier or crap.

It's my only say on the subject have a great day everybody and good night. 😀

PS; I thought long and hard (ooh err Kenneth) before posting this as i'm not intending to light the torch paper and do a runner. (although i am doing a runner). It's just another opinion.

Great Interview with him in The Times!

Agreed and here it is. What a top bloke.

Former Aston Villa manager reveals owners’ thanks for helping to set boyhood club on course for Champions League and explains why he is nicknamed Edward Scissorhands at his new side Charlotte FC

Soon after taking charge of Charlotte FC in North Carolina, Dean Smith, the former Aston Villa manager, found himself driving along the Dean Smith Highway.
“There is also a Dean Smith arena,” Smith says, “and so I was thinking, ‘I must have done really well in my first week here!’ ”
It so happens that Smith is the second Dean Smith to make his mark in the state. The one with the road named after him is the coach that Michael Jordan credited with launching his basketball career and who led the US team to gold at the 1976 Olympics. But our Smith is starting to be recognised on his own terms in the region having been appointed the manager of Charlotte in December.

Awful decision that I can't see working out. The fan's are already after him and other club's laughing.

Dewsip just appointing people his mates. Joke of a DoF.

Totally agree. He's just getting the job by name only. Another Lampard.

Seems clubs will never learn. They would be far better off getting a up and coming manager from the lower leagues rather than a 'name' who lives on his reputation from his playing days.

  4. Rooney appointment confirmed.

When the betting markets come out for the first Championship manager to get the sack i'm going to have some of that.

If he doesn't get off to a good start he'll be roasted by the Plymouth fans

Apparently an article in the Times today - I don't have an account - claiming that we're pushing for a £30m increase to the PSR allowance for next season, according to Stefan Borson:

I've seen quite a lot of takes on here suggesting we aren't at much risk from PSR, but I think people should be asking themselves why we would be pushing this if we weren't. Don't think it's implausible we get a points deduction next season.

here's a link to the article.

It doesn't say too much other than Villa bought it up at the last meeting.

Aston Villa are pushing for the Premier League to raise the maximum limit of the permitted losses for the final season of its Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

It is understood that Villa have raised the issue with clubs this week for the limit to be increased from £105million over three years to £135million. Such a move would be hugely controversial given the points deductions imposed on Everton and Nottingham Forest this season for breaching the limit.

And I'll be controversial... We don't need a tin pot, we need the revenues of the Champions League to be able to kick on to the next phase of our development.

I can wait for a real cup like the FA Cup, premier league or Champions League.

Nobody will care about the conference league in 20 years time.

sorry @ChicagoVillan1983 for me i'd want to win the Conf League. 28 Years since this magnificent club last won a major trophy, that's ridiculous

We might not get as good a chance as we've had this season for a while, who knows?

If we were to somehow win it everyone will remember it.

But i get why some want the CL more so.

The Ideal scenario now is for us to beat Brighton and Spurs lose to Liverpool and then we can go gung ho in Greece and give it a right good go.

Then who knows, we could end up with both.
