It was clear early on that Leicester were pressing and double teaming Kamara high up the pitch. Rodgers admitted as much afterwards.

It's all well and good in hindsight but really there needs to be better decision making on the fly in those situations and I think Emi should be a little more aware of the surroundings.

While frustrated at the time I thought that first goal was just one of those things and that we'd bounce straight back. But I think we were too slow reacting to their approach and basically flustered ourselves into stupid mistakes.

Hopefully we've got that out of the way and we can get ourselves a surprise result or two in the next few weeks.

Buendia hit the bar twice, one assist and should have had another, but sure blame him.

I don't see it as terribly disappointing, just not as exciting as I'd hoped it might be. The next few months will be intriguing.

It's a little bit of a gamble no doubt, but as long as we don't have a massive injury crisis hopefully we'll be okay.

My impression of Sanson has been he's a jack of all trades and master of none. He can do most things really well but nothing about him really stands out and defines and demands his role as a starter in the team.

Hopefully he can use the next 5 months to kick on and show what he can do when given a consistent run.

Probably his most complete performance for us yesterday. Great saves, great composure and absolutely unflappable.

Loved how late in the game he comes about 50 yards out of his goal and has the audacity to put his foot on the ball calmly looking for the right pass rather than hoof it away.

Nobody can coach against Dougie rolling the ball to Ashley Young when he's not looking.

This thread is awfully optimistic, given we average about 3 penalties every season and VAR doesn't seem to bother even checking when it's us.

A team with more efficient forwards would have put 5 past Southampton today. They were pretty poor.

Not every day your keeper is motm when the opposition only have 6 shots on goal but some of the stuff Emi did today was absolutely audacious. What a keeper!

Thought Ramsey was our best outfielder today, although he's still a bit rusty.

Moreno looks a little bit off it. Next few games will be a good measure of where he's at.
