If we’re to obtain a top half finish this season we really need a competent back up striker.  

With Davis always having niggling injuries and Wesley out until March or later, we just can’t get away with just Watkins.  Traore can probably play in the middle of a forward 3 but it’s not his natural position.  

Not sure who we could get in January but would anyone take a punt on Iheanacho?   Or a cheaper option would be to look at Campbell at Stoke perhaps?

Someone from Europe maybe?

We do need a striker/forward though that’s for sure.

Hopefully Raul can come back but certainly not going to be at any point this season. Guess he'll try in pre season and will be closely monitored.

I also heard Don speak last night and wasn’t aware of the difference between his head fracture, and that of Ryan Mason.  The worry here for Raul is that he’ll likely be 30 before being back to any kind of fitness I suppose and you have to then way up the risks against playing career?

It’s a worry whether he’ll be able to come back to top level football or even football at all but I really do hope he makes a speedy and full recovery.

Was trying to think of how Long Laursen was out for....I think he missed a whole season once for us so that shows a player can return to good level. Think Gary Charles also missed a full season in mid 90s and he wasn't quite as good when he came back and left the following season.

Really if it's March the season is a write off as he'll need a good two months just to get up to the pace. Took Benteke a while to get back into his stride when he came back after his injury in 2014.

I think Kozak was a nasty break and took him over 15 months to return due to complications. 

Bouma also had complications after his initial ankle dislocation.  Think he was 14 months or more out.  

Both as we know were never the same players.
