Great come back!
Went off, Grabban came on and scored.
Davis played well that game.
Not scoring doesn't mean you didn't play well.

People are analysing him for his performances against the likes of Barnsley and Cardiff, two of the worst teams in the Championship. You can only beat the teams in front of you but Davis, at his age and experience, at a minimum should be able to take these teams to task. He’s played well but it’s the minimum he should do against such poor opposition, it doesn’t mean those who thought he was great and under appreciated by Villa fans were correct, it just means that he’s doing well at his loan against teams that are many levels of quality below the PL that he should be doing well against.
He was a handful against Arsenal too but OK

I've seen Jellyfish with more spine.
Bloke is a complete and utter bottle job.
Won't get it much easier at Newcastle.
I'd say their fans are more intimidating and hostile.

Chambers can play right back.
Forgot about him lol.
Well still not optimal.
As good as the window has been there's a lot to do still in the summer.

Gerrard not rating him doesn’t mean we loan him out to help the cause of Newcastle. United have held on to Lingard. Arsenal have held on to Auba…It’s not a transfer fee it’s a loan.
If he does really well we could end up getting more money out of him.
Think there could be positives from this.

Have my doubts about how Targett will cope with a roaring, demanding St James Park crowd.
Wish him all the best but I think he will struggle. Won' get much defensive support from Maximin.

Still hopeful he might make the step up - definitely has the heart!
I am the same.
There is just something about Keinan Davis that I cannot let go off.

He clearly wasn't prepared to fight to get his place back , thats the only reason i see for this
This is the reality we face.
The idea of having 2 quality players in every position is just fairy land stuff.
When players don't get regular football they will want to leave. Simple as that.

I’m genuinely shocked with how passionate people are about loaning out Targett to Newcastle.
Am I the only one that doesn’t really give a shit?
Gerrard slowly getting rid of our weak links and replacing them with better quality.
I actually don't rate Targett at all, and don't think he will strengthen Newcastle significally.
I'm fine with it.
Sending Kesler out on loan is leaving us light though. Only Ash as backup for 2 positions.
Yes I know Hause, Konsa and Mings can do a makeshift job there but it's far from optimal

Bundesliga tax? They paid 12 million
We paid more for Scott Hogan
12 million is a lot for Burnley

Don't expect much from him.
Bundesliga tax is real.

So with lots of new signings for the bottom 6 teams, which 3 will now go down?
Only team I know will for certain go down is Norwich.

I just think Davis is more a West Ham / Burnley type CF than the game we're playing at Villa. So while I think he can develop into a Premier League CF I don't see it happening with us.
Keinan isn't just a big lump.
He can really play with his feet to go along with his strength.
His link up play and ball control is criminally underrated

I shall stay tunned

Some Forest fans suggesting he is a level above the Championship.
Absolutely bullying defenders.
Doesn't fit the narrative in here.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Davis becoming a regular PL player eventually. Only thing that could potentially hinder him are his injuries, not his ability.

Brighton needs to know their place on the pyramid.
Us taking their best player is just the natural order of things. Just like Man City taking Grealish.

I don't see why we are doing this - we need two good players in every position.
And we are starting to see that just isn't realistic. Not at a mid table club without Europe.
Good players just won't be having it sitting on the bench and would very quickly want to go to play regular football.
2 quality players in every position is an absolute pipe dream. Man City can do it because they are playing in 4 competitions every season, but mid table clubs just can't.

Newcastle will probably stay up, with or without Targett.
The guy has been bang average/poor this year so it's not like they're getting an in-form player.
If the loan-fee helps us pull off a permanent deal for Hickey and perhaps a quality DM then so be it.
With Saint-Maximin on the left, Targett will be exposed. He's not that good.
He is good without fans.
I just think he is one of those who can't mentally cope well with the pressure that comes with fans back.
And Newcastle fans are one of the most intense crowds in England.

It's more frustrating that we are helping them stay up.
Maybe the coaching staff don't look at it that way.
Perhaps they don't rate this guy at all, and I wouldn't blame them after what they've seen from him.
-
Ash can cover both sides and we brought back Kesler.
-
I just don't think we can keep up with Newcastle regardless if we sell them Targett or don't.
I don't think it will make any difference.
They will keep blowing everyone out of the water in the coming transfer windows.
Such is the reality when you are getting taken over by an Oil State. It shouldn't be allowed, sport washing at it's finest.

Loaning him to them is madness.
Unless our coaching staff believe he is actually shit and enhances their chances in going down.
Tbf he's been pretty abysmal the moment Gerrard went in the door.
Targett did way better without fans, and Newcastle have a massive, energetic crowd.

Financial fair play
They will probably get around it and do like Man City by getting those shady Arab revenue deals or whatever.
