  1. Mascherano has asked to leave West Ham... Does anyone think that he'd be worth a shot if we can buy him out his contract with MSI?
  2. I just feel like for the club to show its ambition it might involve ensuring we do get a big name player, even if it is at a price a bit over the odds.
  3. The way I see it, Defoe IS the kind of player we should be looking at. If we don't sign someone of his stature this transfer window, then MON won't have done very well. We need quality players, and all this talk of shit like Upson, Xavier, random Egyptians doesn't excite me one bit.
  4. Ooooo now that's a rumour! Come on, we can do better than some dodgy Egyptian!
  5. Saw another link on the Sky Sports rumours page. Apparently we are after Beattie and Simon Davies from Everton.
  6. Look at it this way. Neither the board or MON have disclosed anything about who they are after or how much they've got to spend. Everything so far has just been speculation. The only solid links we've had in the past 4 months have been from agents saying we're looking at their players, or from us lot saying MON has been spotted at a game, so must be watching so and so. The one thing we're certain on is that MON wants to strengthen, and he's spent the first half a season in charge determining who deserves to be part of the club. We all have thoughts and ideas on who is key to resurrecting Villa. I'm sure MON has his ideas as well, but telling the world about it isn't going to help get them here in the slightest. I think we should just stay confident that MON will bring in the right men for the job, and that our billionaire owner will put up plenty of funds if need be.
  7. Bouma needs replacing too RandysVilla. We get Bardsley and ssomeone good at left back and we should be able to tighten up the defense a hell of a lot.
  8. Keane would be an awesome signing for £7mil. How reliable is this guy Bill Howell? I would be extremely happy with that plus two or three others. Never really seen much of that Halford guy, or Dio Kamara either. Are they any good? Its very pleasing to see lots of recognisable names suggested on these forums coming up. But most notably is the lack of Alan Smith. Someone on here was convinced he'd be signing a few weeks back, and it was met with more than a little distaste. Hopefully January will be pretty exciting.
  9. Yeah, but SoccerHQ, read the other thread and you'll see O'Neill has given up on Milner. Bale and Bent would be nice, but I'd probably prefer Baines and Defoe. Either Farfan, SWP or Navas for the right wing.
  10. Very promising 21 (i think) year old right winger who can play up front too. Would be an excellent signing, but Arsenal are apparently interested, so Lerner would have to pull out all the stop to lure him.
  11. According to SS, the agent of Jesus Navas and Antonio Puerta has said that there have been bid(s) for his players. It would make my Christmas if it turned out we were after Navas.
  12. Cheers for the praise b23avfc and Grant(aka_eddy) Most of those photos I took whilst on a round the world trip after I finished school. I'd never really taken any good photos before, but got really interested when I was out there. When I got back I managed to get a job at a pro commercial photographers working as an assistant. The summer after, I spent working for another commercial photographer, and now I feel really pretty skilled at Photoshop and using digital cameras. The camera's we used whilst I was working for these photographers were worth about £15k, and used ex military digital chips to process the image. Pretty high tech stuff, but fascinating even to someone like me. I'd have to say that those two summers helped me a lot with my uni work (I'm on a Product Design course) in terms of getting a product to look just right in presentation.
  13. Most of these were taken a few years back on a Konica 2M Compact. Let me know what you lot think.
  14. My January wish list Martin: Baines Someone good at right back??? Muntari SWP / Jesus Navas Pazzini / Keane
  15. Lots of teams saying their players aren't for sale now. Unsurprising considering its the run up to the January window. With Milner out the picture more or less, I think its might be worth bidding high for SWP and competing with Portsmouth and Wet Spam all the way. Let's be honest, he's the best available right winger in the UK. The only other option, if we want to bring in real quality, is to look abroad, but most foreign players are hit and miss. I only hope Ian Storey Moore has done his homework, so if we do sign foreign players, they adapt quickly to the Prem.
  16. We don't need Reo-Coker as much as we need a right winger. Reo-Coker for 10 mil would be a big waste of money.
  17. Why oh why will West Ham buy Bent? They don't need any more forwards - they've got plenty. In Tevez and Ashton they've got arguably one of the best strikeforce in the country on their day. Bent wouldn't go there to sit on the bench.
  18. Linked to Darren Bent today. I think everyone's in agreement that Bent would be awesome for us. Newscastle and Portsmouth also linked, but I don't think the former will compete without selling first. Also linked with some keeper from Wolves. Anyone know anything about him?
  19. Pierce was at the SU game today. Do you think he's after Jagielka? Possibly to replace Micah Richards if he's already agreed a big money move? Or maybe he's got his eye on a Villa player. Any suggestions?
  20. Viana might not have been much good at Newcastle, and probably wouldn't be much good at us, but he's young and there's always a chance he'll come good. Not that he'd be anything like my first choice though!
  21. Just spent a few mins looking through Sky Sports website, with the squadlists and number of games played. This list of players all haven't played much (if at all) at there respective clubs (possibly some due to injury I don't know for sure). Most of them I'd love to see in a Villa shirt: Spain: Esquerro Saviola Cicinho Beckham Ronaldo Cassano Gabi Maxi Rodriguez Aldo Duscher Juan Carlos Valeròn Victor Renato Chevanton Juanfran Albert Celades Carlos Marchena Rubén Baraja Hugo Viana Alessio Tacchinardi Italy: Maxwell Francesco Coco Nicolas Burdisso Esteban Cambiasso Mariano Gonzalez Alvaro Recoba Julio Cruz Claudio Serginho Mirko Vucinic Fabio Simplicio Mario Santana Giampaolo Pazzini France: Claudio Caçapa Alou Diarra Benoit Pedretti Denilson Camel Meriem Marco Di Vaio Germany: Tim Borowski Petri Pasanen Martin Demichelis Sebastian Deisler Alexander Farnerud Gerald Asamoah Emile Mpenza ^^^^^ So quite a few players of a decent standard who might be looking for a move. Some of these might be a gamble, but some may be really worth a go.
  22. Have Newcastle even got £15M to spend on players? Surely they'll have to let a few go to raise that sort of money? Milner anyone?!
