  1. not to piss on anyones bonfires, but my mate who's a spurs fan is saying that their fan boards are going on about Barry to them. Supposedly he's a spurs fan?

Barry for Defoe would be 2 steps forward, 1 back IMO

Yes, apparently Barry was seen sleeping on the Embankment the night before last and by last night had moved on to Seven Sisters station. You can probably see him on Wikimapia if he's still there.

Don't be daft. I didn't say Gary Charles.

Anyway, if I didn't have loads to do I'd dig out a link.

  2. Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill is not sure if striker Milan Baros wants to stay at the club.

The Czech Republic international has endured a frustrating season with Villa, having recovered slowly from a foot injury sustained in last summer's World Cup finals.

The 25-year-old has scored only once this season under O'Neill and his lack of first-team action has prompted speculation of a move away from the club.

The former Banik Ostrava and Liverpool hit-man was linked with a move to French champions Lyon, while fresh reports suggest Spanish strugglers Real Sociedad are keen to lure him to the Basque Country this month.

O'Neill says it is up to Baros to try and find the prolific form that made him a top marksman.

"I wouldn't be sure if he wanted to stay," O'Neill said in the Daily Mirror. "If a striker is not scoring goals, then he is going to ask himself some questions.

"He is still trying to find the form that earned him a move to Liverpool and won him the golden boot (at Euro 2004).

"He scored against Sheffield United and like everyone else, goals give boosts of confidence.

"Milan has started a fair few games for us and when he hasn't started, he has been on the bench.

"But ultimately it is up to players - I don't have a magic wand to bring the best out of people."

  3. going by what MON said when asked by SkySports after the Chelsea game... he doesnt sound confident of getting anyone.......

According to some that will be some sort of super tactic on MON's part!!

I believe so. I think MON toys with the media whenever he can. I dont mean this to sound bad but you cant trust what he says because i daresay in his mind he has very different plans.

it's a blatant 'buyers tactic'. you dont go out there, mismanage expectations and reveal your hand (budget). that would be daft.

  4. Countdown to January sales

    Lucas Neill

    Interested: Liverpool, Newcastle, Aston Villa

The Blackburn defender could be the bargain of the January sales.

Neill, 28, is out of contract next summer and wants to join a leading Premiership club.

And he could cost as little as £500,000 as Rovers attempt to recoup a fee for the want-away Australian.

Neill was the subject of a £2million bid from Liverpool last summer and Reds boss Rafa Benitez is ready to launch another bid.

The Blackburn star would jump at the chance of signing for the 2005 Champions League winners.

  5. I also think MON is looking for a target-man such as James Beattie. Alan Smith has been mentioned, I don't think he would do a better job than Angel does right now.

Not sure though, his injuries is ruining his reputation, along with Michael Owen etc etc.

My shout is still Darren Bent though, some club needs to drag him out of the hell-hole that is the Valley.

to be fair though - alan smith did have riise smack a ball into his leg. i wouldn't call this 'injury prone', just hard luck!

  6. Does anyone believe we've already got a name or 2 in for sure but not publically announced?

    honestly yess I do.

I hope so to, since there is no reason to wait until Jan to do biz. I really hope that MON and Lerner has seen it that way to.

i 100% agree with this. the management team now in place at VP are not going to be sitting around, talking about how they invented the bicycle kick. they're going to be aware that this is their first transfer window and working their bollocks off.

  7. RAFA BENITEZ will hit the jackpot after Sheikh Mohammed rode into town as Liverpool’s saviour.

The super-rich racehorse owner, worth £7BILLION, has opened talks about a takeover at Anfield.

Financial analyst Philip Beresford said: “This will have Liverpool challenging Chelsea for every big-name signing. It’s Arab oil money v Russian oil money.

“They’re an incredibly shrewd family who make Manchester United’s owners the Glazers look like poor relations.â€

Kop boss Benitez could now find himself with a transfer kitty of up to £100m as part of the £450m deal.

The Kop boss, preparing for tonight’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray, said: “I have talked to our chairman David Moores and chief executive Rick Parry about this and I was pleased with what I heard.

"It is always good for a club to have more money and more possibilities.â€

Shaun Wright-Phillips, out in the cold at Chelsea, is a huge favourite of Benitez.

Seville full-back Daniel Alves could be another target while there may be a move for Spanish hitman David Villa, who played for Benitez at Valencia.

hmmmm. if this is already 100% completed, then it narrows our prospects in the January window even more

    :x

  8. damn and blast!

    Juve eye German ace

    By GAVIN GLICKSMAN

    December 04, 2006

JUVENTUS are lining up a summer swoop for Werder Bremen star Miroslav Klose.

The German, who topped the scoring charts at the 2006 World Cup, is expected to quit the Bundesliga at the end of the season.

And fallen giants Juve are keen for him to trade Germany for life in Italy.

Coach Didier Deschamps said: "We are looking for players who can help the team take a step up in quality.

"You can't dispute Klose's ability, he is a great attacker who plays in his national side and has excellent qualities. We'll see what happens."

Juventus are currently second in Serie B after being relegated from the top flight following the Italian match-fixing scandal.
