Tim didn't like that challenge!
-
I have been sceptical to Sherwood, but spoke with a guy at work who is a Spurs fan. He said that on reflection, he was sure that Sherwood was a lot better than he and the Spurs fans had though. He put emphasis that it was Sherwood who started playing the young players (for example Kane) and the fans were opposed to that.
There's an interview with him where he talks about playing Kane instead of soldado and if Kane hasn't scored for half an hour the Spurs fans still chant for soldado. He talks about Liverpool bringing players trough and the fans encourage it but at Spurs they'd rather buy someone.

How many times has wiemann skied those chances

Not offside.
Savage you word removed, you can pick a penalty but not a man playing Bacuna onside. You absolute word removed.
Savage in being biased to his old club shocker.

Get in that dressing room Tim and sort it out!

So how good is Sherwood in the transfer market? That's a pretty important aspect for a Villa boss at the moment, with the budgeting going on.
Thats one thing we don't know. Although he is very youth driven and would rather give a youth team player a chance than sign a foreigner.

My 2 cents:
Vlaar must play. Sanchez alongside Westwood with Delph further forward in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

When I heard the news earlier today I just felt all hope drain out of me. I feel this is a disaster Billy McNeil style.
It isn't the prospect of Relegation, which isn't something new in my lifetime of supporting Villa, I just can't see Sherwood building any longterm plan.
I am probably biased as I didn't like him as a player either.
Why not? He sorted Spurs academy out 4-5 years ago and gave Kane his debut. If he can do the same here I'll be happy as it's what we need.
What's long term in football nowadays anyway?

Pulis is a safe option, you know what you're going to get but he won't ever be a top manager.
-
I don't think they were lucky to win, I meant the little things are going for them with deflections and ricochets.
-
Ramseys been coach at QPR all season...just saying.Spurs fans have not got much good to say about him.
It seems that Ramsey was the brains during his time there, with Sherwood as the mouthpiece.
I've got a bad feeling about this.

We're talking about his time at Spurs.
I think the point is that if he's the brains hen why are qpr struggling
-
I might be wrong but wasn't Merson saying the other day we needed someone experienced, now he's saying sherwood is true right man.
-
He hasn't actually signed a player before has he? Wonder what the policy will be in that regard.
We're bringing lambert back to the club to sign players and sherwood to coach them.
-
Come on Tim, sort these lazy bellends out!

They seem to be getting that bit of luck at the moment. Handball in the build up to the first goal, 2 deflections on that goal.

Some seem to think throwing a coat on the floor is the sign of a great motivator and man manager. The reality is that he polarised the Spurs dressing room in a very short space of time, hardly the sign of a great motivator. If we're going to get somebody who will ruffle feathers, then may as well get DiCanio. I just don't understand that thinking. We're talking about bringing in a bloke with 4 months of managerial experience, at a club nowhere near any trouble, to come in and save us. It's baffling.
And, no, people aren't judging him based on one video. Don't be daft.
Polarised it into win nearly 60% of their league games?

The scariest thing about this appointment for me isn't actually Sherwood himself. Its the fact that the people running the club think he is actually a viable option for taking the club forward.
The scariest thing for me is how many experts we have in here than have written him off before he's started.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/25/tim-sherwood-tottenham-manager-win-record
I like this article where he talks a lot about youth players. We're not in he position to throw youth in now, maybe grealish will get a chance. But if we stay up then I can see him pushing the youth through, which is what we need. Lambert seemed reluctant to do it and the fans were crying out for it, now we potentially have someone that will do it.
-
Good enough for me, get him in!
-
I just can't believe the ones who kept saying give him more time are now outraged that a poor manager is heavily linked to the job.
Poor manager based upon what? Because his record certainly isn't poor no matter how short it is.
-
Has anyone mentioned his net spend yet?
Maybe if we didn't keep moving the goal posts and continuing to keep giving a failure manager time, which lots wanted. We'd be in a better position to get a decent manager.
If we end up with Sherwood it's down to the state Lerner and Lambert have put us in.
Let it go!
-
So why is he hated by many Spurs fans? You seemed to do OK under him after a shambolic start to the season, why is he derided?
Edit - at a minimum you were exciting to watch.
A combination of reasons. For one I think fans were just disappointed in general at how the season was going by the time AVB was fired and Sherwood took over, Spurs fans have always been a bit precious and just saw it as us giving up on the season instead of giving him a chance. Some believe that Sherwood was poisonous behind the scenes and helped AVB get sacked - personally I think he did that all by himself. Tim's personaility will rub a lot of people up the wrong way, he says everything as it is, some fans will like that and others would rather he were just like most other managers regurgitating stock answers.
Sherwoods record was worse than avb?
Sherwood's record was worse than the bloke he replaced. He got found out very quickly and ditched by Spurs. An egotistical idiot and a tacticial dunce
Pochettino has lost 8 in 25 so far in the premier league. Fairly similar records. He lost 10 matches during his short tenure at Spurs with a much better team, quite an achievement.
His total management career stretches 4 months and some are creaming themselves over him - beggars belief!
Easily a bigger mistake than McLeish if he turns up which looks increasingly likely
We have turned a respected, historic club into a complete laughing stock
Not from what I've seen.
AVB W17 D4 L5 Dim Sherwood W14 D4 L10
That record(AVB's) is heavily padded by 8 games against sunday league opposition in the early rounds of the Europa whilst Tim's [cup] record includes games against the likes of Arsenal, Dnipro and Benfica - slightly tougher opposition. League only Tim took 42 points from 22 games, AVB took 27 from 16.
Which is what I meant, you can't include Europa league games against shody opposition for a fair comparison.

No doubt pulis will get praise for ideye when he tried to actually sell him in jan!

An you're including all the earlier group games in the European league against the part timers. I'm just looking at premier league record.
