By no means am I comparing us to Sheffield United - we have way more talent then they ever did, but I feel similar to them at the end of last season and this one, our formula has been found-out by opposing teams. We really need to change things up tactically and in terms of personnel. Smith so far has not shown flexibility.
-
Lucky to get a point. We are consistently losing second and 50/50 balls. Squad needs rotating.

Teams are tactically better setup for us. We need to adjust accordingly.

A silver lining in Luiz's under-the-radar performances this year is that it may mean Man City will not take-up his option.
-
Think we are due a game where we are on the front foot. Feel the Arsenal victory and the one week gap between matches will give us a big lift. We will win this 0-2.
-
The marketing impact of keeping Grealish plus the Premier League merit payments which is worth around £3M per place easily justify doubling his wages. Obviously, sensible safeguards need to be in place in case we get relegated, he suffers a long-term injury or a giant meteor hits Birmingham.

So some are happy that we are out of the cup competitions and don't want to get into Europe. Why even follow a football club?

Just realized that our games in hand are against Everton and Spurs. If we were to win those matches, as of the current table we would be in 4th place having played the same number of games as everyone else.

Son and Kane are just so clinical in their finishing. Would love to get a player in their ilk at Villa. Would make us genuine challengers for the UCL places.

Do we need to be more solid defensively? How many clean sheets have we kept? Weve got to balance both parts of the pitch and Ramsey/trez will not contribute the same goals and assists as Barkley/traore.
Look at the impact Barkleys positioning has on Watkins, he spends less time wondering about in the channels and more time in the box. No surprise that hes started scoring again.
Last two games at least - the opposition were attacking in waves.
-
Changing out Barkley seems the most logical solution. Also bringing in Trez can play help solidify us defensively.

I think some people on here just don't like him.
Terrible take. Everyone was absolute giddy when we signed him on loan. He's been off since coming back from his injury and though it's abundantly clear he has special qualities he is a liability at the moment. If he had another name on the back of his shirt, the criticism would be 3 fold. Hopefully a proper week of build-up to the next match helps get him back on track, but if it were me I would consider starting Ramsey or Sanson over him.

Ten goals after twenty-one games, given that he's been very unlucky not have not scored more, it's not beyond the realms of possibilities that he could become the Villa first player since Peter With to score twenty goals in the top flight.
Wow. You are right. A couple of players reached 19 since, but no one has crossed twenty in the top flight league (Div1/Prem)

There is a touch of quality with Barkley, but he is too much of a liability otherwise. Would definitely bring on Sanson early for him. Also think Nakamba with his yellow needs to come out.

How much could we realistically command? £10-13m?
Sounds about right to me. We have no pressure to sell him - get every penny possible. No club has done us any favors.
-
We need to hold Swansea ransom when they try to sign him permanently - like what Bournmouth did with Mings.

One of the players we sign must be a dead-ball specialist.

Good news and hopefully a sign of the club's overall development on the marketing and biz dev side of things which generally has been poor. Wish they had a season package option where we could pay in one go. Due to timing, I don't plan to watch any of the matches live, but would be happy to get a subscription.

We are gassed. Think we will be average until the end of the season. Hoping for a top half finish.

That was really poor. Midfield needs adjustment. El Ghazi has been very wasteful. Bring on Sanson/Ramsey and Traore early 2nd half.
-
Golden chance for us to solidify our top-half position and push on for Europe if we can win the next few matches

Apart from United winning (don't care either way), this is pretty much the perfect day so far.
Better if Newcastle get a result. We want as wide a gap as possible with the teams behind us.

Is that the University of North Carolina?
No, UNC-Greensboro is a different university. UNC-Chapel Hill (normally referred to as just "UNC" or "North Carolina") is the more famous one and has a very strong men's and women's soccer programs. It is however better known for its basketball program where Michael Jordan played under their legendary coach......wait for it....Dean Smith!

Would be happy with 9 points from the February fixtures.

yes, but it's been about 4-5 recent matches where this is happening.
