I think this is the key point. Spurs are well known for buckling under pressure, so if we have a 9pt gap before they kick a ball, it will probably negatively affect their performances.

They may just settle for 5th at that point - meaning resting players, giving fringe squad members an opportunity and tactically trying some new things.

So just to sum up this thread, for any who don't want to go back and read it all.

    Lerner badge: shit.

    Purslow badge: shit.

    Heck badge: shit.

Hate these types of posts that try to muddy the water.

People might have had issues with the Purslow badge (lion facing right, similar to chelsea, not being bold)  but it was professionally designed.  The Heck badge is totally amateur thus the uproar.

On the other hand, imagine scoring the goal to win a game in front of 60,000 people in a new stadium, that wins us the league. Or being able to buy a drink or go for a piss at half time.

I am international fan and I took my kids to Villa Park and the Emirates  over the Xmas holidays.  They are Villa fans but much preferred the Emirates experience. Think the sentimentality towards VP might also be a generational things. The younger crowd want convenience over tradition.

  4. Our recent form feels like how Arsenal stumbled at the end of last season.  Think it's just just growing pains and we'll be stronger for it next season - as Arsenal seem to have matured this season.

Will be more than happy with 5th place - hopefully it will come with UCL qualification.

There are some decent comments on there too with some nice things to say about us, but some of their fans really are muppets.

You get this as your club becomes bigger and gains more “wannabee” fans. It’ll probably happen to us soon enough.

I hate ordering stuff online, it's so hit and miss

I ordered a bunch of items for my kids and I before visiting Villa Park over the winter holidays.  From sizing, to quality of the materials and printing, and just the looks, we were disappointed with half the items we ordered. We needed to return one item as the Villa badge was an oval shaped instead of circular.

I think most of our focus will be overseas with the occasional look at championship players. That we were so intent on signing Rogers is a good sign that Monchi and the scouting network are looking extensively at the Championship for players they like.

I struggle to think what big name signing we will make unless we get a big sell going on. I think the most obvious place to target is our lack of elite fullbacks. But we already signed two projects at fullback as well.

CM looks a bit light if we were to break it down to the 4 players that have played there now that Dendoncker is gone. I wouldn't be 100% comfortable going into a full campaign with UCL with only Luiz/Kamara/McGinn/Tim as the available options.

Like with Wolves and Portugal, I was worried the Monchi-Emery combo would focus on La Liga/Spanish players.  Good to see we are recruiting from everywhere.

First time seeing it and that actually looks good and if including hotel price its a snip

I have seen him go to London teams and pay double for a similar service. He went to one of big clubs recently either Liverpool or Chelsea and were serving up poorer food choices

Can’t speak to hospitality but the normal food at the Emirates was pretty awful when I was there in December.  They had a wide selection but everything was quite poor. For example the pizza was soggy and gourmet sausage was bland.

Feel American stadiums/arenas do food much better.

We are a bigger club than Newcastle. We should not assume they got better terms.

We've won stuff since colour television for a start!

Noticed that Saudi Arabia National Team also wear Adidas.  Wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle's "Elite club"  deal actually had some sweeteners for Adidas - like access to the Saudi market and investment from PIF.  Unfortunately, state-owned clubs have powerful levers that normal clubs do not.

I don't get the puppet vibe from him myself but fair enough

I like Pete.  He offers some unique takes and his production is top notch.  But lately his shows seem to be toeing the company line.  It’s almost like he is angling for some favors from the club.
