And you're quibbling over paying it? Wow, what a big club you are. And when you do eventally have him and a top 6 club suddenly needs a manager, enjoy looking over your shoulder. Wiz - calm down & think about matters. Norwich had given PL permission to talk to AVFC - they then withdrew it...which is what has caused the storm and Lambert tendering his resignation. Had they NOT gone back on the agreement with Villa & your manager to at least let him speak to us... this would have been wrapped up days ago. I'm sure when Villa approached Norwich for permission to speak to Lambert - which YOUR CEO said they had done properly and correctly on SSN - they would have realised that they would need to pay his club compensation....What your CEO didn't own up to live on SSN..... was the fact that they HAD indeed granted permission but then later withdrew it and said NO. THAT's a different kettle of fish altogether.

It's obvious he didn't walk out CI - Norwich had granted permission then withdrew it - prompting him to threaten to walk. Legal wranglings over whether compensation is payable or not have ensued and that's what's delaying the announcement.

Just so looking forward to Petrov's Friendly with Celtic ....... that WILL be something special with Lambert in charge as well. Can't wait....UTV!!

Glad he took it all down really last night because THAT info should not have been for public consumption! If true though no wonder the rumours are that Lerner & Lambert are not well chuffed with Norwich. 5 Live are apparently reporting Villa will announce Paul Lambert as manager today.

Yip that's rumours off that place that shall not be mentioned on VT.

Extracting Lambert & Co past few weeks has obviously been like pulling teeth. Fair play to Norwich though... We'd only want Villa to do the same surely?

SSN Update: Pete Colley os BMH everything going well with negotiations. Lambert his agent Atol & PF & RL are meeting this afternoon. Hoping to announce it all officially in next 24 hours could be couple of hours. So I guess then Norwich must have given permission then!

Norwich Chairman was NOT telling the whole truth methinks on SSN.. Pete Colley said outside BMH that Lambert was talking to Villa yesterday - he said they hadn't given him permission until compensation was sorted with the other club. Gazton confirmed Lambert spoke to some of the players last night as well! Porkie pies...think discussions may well be over backroom staff. Bit OT but anyone else watching SSN just seen the Umbro Gazza England shirt advert. Shocking...he looks dreadful....Collins, Dunne & Co be ware!

Not just me that posts off twitter - some of the best ones come from others. Sat here glued to SSN and all they keep doing is saying so & so has just tweeted.... ie JUST...."Kenny Daglish in the last few moments has just tweeted congrats to Brendan Rogers". You can't get away from it! Anyhow any stick on VT is just water off a duck tapes back as far as I'm concerned! :winkold:
