That doesn't make him close to a billionaire.
I know but that doesn’t sound as fun

This might be the easiest win any team will have all season

How on earth did Beale and Gerrard win a league title??

Sorry to hear that. Basically stay in and try not to interact with others. Get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids too. If work try to force you in then tell them to do one.
I hope you're clear of it soon.
Cheers. I’m lucky with work actually. They’ve gone from “you can work from home 2 days a week” to “please work from home as much as you can because we really CBA expanding the office”

Woke up feeling like I’d smoked a thousand cigarettes. Took a covid test as had one knocking about out of intrigue more than anything and what do you know Ive got it again. What do people actually do these days if you’ve got it??

his rejuvenation at Luton passed me by. Fair play - happy for the lad.

He’s definitely got something in there that can be unlocked. We should all know better than to be writing players off this early now. That being said, if he did want to leave I don’t think anyone would particularly miss him.

I can’t give any opinion on any Emery dealings as I haven’t got a clue who any of them are!

Be Suprised if he comes back to England, Tax laws state you have to be out the country for a full 12 months or you still pay 40% Tax on your earnings

He either is playing people again or he really is a complete moron
I suspect the former answers the latter. It’s going to be for some sort of tax reason. I don’t think it will be a coincidence that he has decided to remain outside of the UK when a bunch of PL clubs would still take him…

PS; Surely this wins the award for the longest forum thread title in the world.
that’s what happens when you leave it to the fans and not the thread designer

Right so this kinda fits in here I think. John Alexander Brodie, he was a civil engineer who led the design team of the first Mersey tunnel (and other local engineering projects). Now that fact alone gets him a blue plaque outside the house he used to live in. Many years later around 1987 I too lived in that house but that is by the by but it is how I came to learn this little factoid
The Mersey Tunnel has obviously affected millions upon millions of peoples lives over the years in a positive way and that is what he's famous for, there's even a road named after him yards from my flat.
This lesser known fact has had a positive effect on many more people over time and is supposedly the achievement he was most proud of.
He was an amateur football referee...
Makes you wonder why he's most famous for that other thing
Now this is the kind of content I wanted. That’s excellent knowledge.

I think the title thread is wrong.
The people listed have not necessarily done significant things. Some have done inignificant things that have had significant results.
For example - Stanislav Petrov
What he didn't do prevented a significant event.
You're welcome.
Doesn’t the significant result make the act or omission itself significant?

I must say transfer windows have become more boring as ive gotten older and don’t really know any of the talent around the world anymore. I hadn’t heard of any player Emery has signed other than Tielemans.

The thread should probably be called - Who should be a lot more famous than they are?
We have already had one consultation on this and a new title implemented. We will wait and see what the reaction is to the new title before embarking on another consultation process.

Titled changed. Unlike Chris Heck, I listen to the Villa fans. I am tempted to add a star to the title.

It does beg the obvious question though, if you've never heard of them, how do you know how significant they are?
lol well I guess a better way to phrase it would be YOU know of them but it’s an obscure person who had an enormous impact and most people probably don’t know about them. Just isn’t quite as catchy.

I’ve been listening to a podcast called Real Dictators and they were talking briefly about Gavrilo Princip. If you don’t know who that is, he is the guy that shot Archduke Franz Ferdinand which is broadly accepted as the match that lit World War I.
Granted everyone was looking for an excuse to kill the each other anyway, but it just occurred to me that the man that arguably triggered one of the deadliest conflicts in human history just isn’t a known name.
Because there’s a break in Villa football and winter is boring, I was wondering what snippets people can offer up as people who are significant / ought on paper to be really well known by name but just aren’t.
edit: title amended due to controversy and furious anger-

I like this Balaban fella’s redesign but I don’t see how this can be a “leak” tbh. Why wouldn’t we trademark what we are going to have but instead some random mock up? I don’t buy this recycling an old lion stuff either. It really isn’t hard to register a trademark - why wouldn’t they register what the badge is going to be?
As someone mentioned as well, the lion is far too detailed. I’m not sure there’s a single badge you could find with that level of intricate detail, and for good reason (scaling, digital use and other reproduction).
I suspect this guy has successfully led everyone on.-

I highly highly doubt you trademark a design in order to leak it.
