I think having a local band and a Villa fan is the right thing. Would definitely take that over something not related to Villa.

Bit of a funny one. There’s a player in there for sure but with his injuries and the price tag I think it’s just too many ifs buts and maybes around him. I’d look elsewhere I think.

I’m finding this utterly astonishing. I generally don’t subscribe to X fans are words removed because I think all fans are really. I don’t particularly subscribe to any of our own rivals being words removed as it just is what it is, they defend their own and have a go at us and we do likewise.
But Spurs fans are actually something else. Arsenal’s failure is genuinely more important to them than Spurs’ success. Ive actually never seen anything like it.

It doesn’t surprise me that James Milner was at the forefront of those saying more training was required.
But fair do’s to Luke Young for leading the sessions. Mad that he’s had to do that.
Yeah forgot to mention that about Luke Young. ‘Undermining’ MON by holding fitness training is probably why he barely played.

It's every game so it probably does feel like I'm part of PGMOL (). Referees make some mistakes during games just as players do - but literally every game without fail on here is just the same people berating the referee. I think we had all of the worst referees in the World officiating us this season.
Yup. It’s really tedious.

I think only Villa can have their best season in my lifetime and make it feel like shite

One wonders what this outcome could have been if Martinez didn't pick the ball up and throw it over his own goal line in the opening minute.
Tbf he isn’t responsible for our players not burying like 4 clear chances

To be fair, some did say the same about Bailey.
Every time. Me included. Which is why I’m not saying the same about Diaby.

So far in this tie:
- Aston Villa 28 attempts on goal - 2 goals
- Olympiacos 11 attemps on goal - 5 goals.
They've just been ridiculously efficient.
We were really good in that half, completely dominated it, completely controlled it and still came out losing it 1-0.
I'm not sure what else we can do.
We just can’t break them down. Might not be such an issue if we weren’t awful in the first leg and also had some rotten luck. We lost it first leg.

Agreed best in a while, not made it about himself.
Best we have seen in Europe by a country mile.

We’ve been awful this whole tournament.
They’re all tired. Olympiakos want it more than we do.
We can’t break them down and we constantly have this problem up against teams that play 11 behind the ball.
It is what it is. I think what frustrates me the most is we now have the PL, which we can’t win, the UCL, which we can’t win, the FA Cup which we can’t win (see: Premier League). This was our chance for some silverware unless we just throw everything behind the Carabao Cup.
I won’t be too upset as they’re all just spent and we’ve had an amazing PL season. We have seriously limped to the semis in this competition though.

Just thought I’d dip back in after a hiatus from VT and immediately remembered why I took a break

Christ you know what I think I am actually done with this forum. It is incredibly toxic in its negativity and makes being a Villa fan less enjoyable.

That's the big problem that remains for us as a club really.
We're a better footballing team than Man. United. We showed that for about 80% of the game.
However they hung in there somehow and while likes of Diaby and Luiz were wasterfully screwing shots wide at 1-1 they produced the cross of the game and won it.
We can never shake off the feeling no matter how much we spent that we're not quite good enough to achieve things at a crucial part of the season.
It's an inferiority complex we can't quite kick the habit of. Was there in the MON seasons and looks like this season is going to turn out a replica of 08/09 which will be even more crushing.
We have hung in and scraped victories plenty of times this season.

We lost…
I am well aware. You can play well and lose.

Some perspective - we actually played well. We are mentally incapable of beating Man Utd. Play like that in our upcoming games and we remain in the running.

At least we’ve actually played some good football it has been a while

Emery shouting a Diaby to get his head up and carry on making chances. Just needs the confidence.
Wrong. He’s completely shit remember. He turned shit recently and will always be shit and we need to remind him he’s shit.
