Office and Inbetweeners both quality. Best British comedy ever? What about only fools and horses?

Only Fools went on too long Should have ended it when they got their money. Everything after was just poor.

The Office and Fawlty Towers went out at the top, the best way to go!

That's impossible to spend a grand in three nights AND recall the memories :D:blink:

I may just be imaging the memories from blurred photos and scars I woke up with! ;)

Back in the days when I could drink a lot and not fall asleep!

Burger king used to do a mushroom double Swiss burger......heaven in a bun !!! Then they stopped it..... I discovered it again in Australia in their version of BK  (hungry jacks)...now they've stopped it and the only place I can get it is BK in Singapore :(.....never been there and have no plans to.

If only somewhere else did it or very similar....

Singapore is a blast brother! Expensive though, had 3 nights out on the town there and spent over £1k! Good memories though...

I will make an argument for McDonald’s breakfast muffins. The double egg and cheese McMuffin is a god tier breakfast. They have got me through a lot of post night shift journeys home.

    Amen brother.

Sausage and egg mMcMuffin (not a double - i'm not a savage), 2x hash browns and a cappuccino. Boom!

You've mentioned this a few times before, and I know it makes your Monday easier in the short term, but surely you're just making a rod for your own back?

If the work's piling up to the extent you have to routinely work weekends (unpaid, I'm guessing), stop bloody doing it. Manglement only care about fixing issues with staffing when it starts hurting the results.

I get what you are saying but I work in sales/account management and if you are busy it means you are doing something right. Without blowing my own trumpet, i'm very good at my job.

As for being unpaid... yes and no. While I won't get overtime (management grades don't) the better I do, the bigger bonus I get... and i've done very on my last 3 bonuses.

I enjoy my job, i'm just a victim of my own success. I shouldn't moan as others would love to have too much business but it can be a bind sometimes.

Never set foot in a five guys before. Don’t know how it differs to other fast food restaurants. A quick search suggests that the nearest one to me is a 45 minute drive away, so I won’t be finding out in a hurry.

There is about 3 in Brum city centre at last count. Very nice burger but expensive as others have said.

  7. Fridays - genuinely my worst day at work every week. Last 3 have been insanely busy. Makes me angry. Yet again I will have to work this Sunday to get up speed on everything that has kicked off today.

Go back 10 years and Friday was work until lunchtime then off to Horts / Some Place Else / The Last Word for 2/3 pints and a bite to eat before heading back into the office to piss about until 5pm when we'd just go back to the bar.

Nowadays the social side has died. Who took the fun out of working?

  8. The Brent film is decent but it did feel a little OTT. Like he was playing up to Brent's worst traits. Its a decent ending though.

Gervais though, his track record for comedy series is excellent. Office (2 series), Extras (2 series), Life's Too Short (1 series) and Derek (2 series) and even the weakest of the 7 series is still what I would class as very good. The Office is an all time classic. Gervais' podcasts were great and the original XFM shows are the greatest radio shows ever. Yes, I am a fan but I'm not blind to his faults. His stand up is ok and i do find him a bit preachy at times.

It's certainly not looking for cheap laughs, but it is VERY funny, imo.

    It's my favourite comedy ever.

Yep. Just above Partridge and The Thick of It.

The Office Xmas Special is, in my opinion, the greatest British comedy episode of all time (ok, it was a two-parter)

On the whole mental health front..

It is interesting that how financial problems and worrys are subconsciously the beginning and root causes of alot of peoples depression.

I think it is a factor but there are plenty of people in my office who are financially comfortable but up to the eyeballs on medication.

I guess it's stress and there are a variety of reasons for it.

Mate, I'd much rather have it this way for sure.  Monday's first hour is talk about 'the Voice', but me and the other two lads discuss the weekends games/results.  I even mentioned the Stone Roses the other day when discussing music and one of the women rolled her eyes.  I nearly stabbed her with my Bic pen.

I try not to discuss football as there are 4 Man Utd fans on the bank of desks! I just keep my own counsel when it comes to football.

Women just don't appreciate music. All they are interested in is being seen to be into the latest and greatest new thing. Not many women I know will listen to a classic album.

We can listen to earphone while we work thank god. Sometimes you can just have them on your ears but turned off so nobody speaks to you unless it's important.

No such look for me. I spend hours a day on the phone to my clients.

It's not a great place that's for sure!  I'm on a bank of eight tables of five women and two other lads.  One lad was on leave and other was agreeing with me on most comedy levels.  It was the women bigging up what I would call 'the shite stuff'.  You should have heard the film discussion.  Suffice to say 'Dirty Dancing' was being quoted several times.

Bet they talk about X-Factor as well.

Luckily I'm on a bank of desks with 7 other blokes (ages 25-39) and the conversations resemble The Inbetweeners sometimes! Id rather have it that way though.
