  1. I would just run at night but it really isn't safe

    :? Mind telling me why?

Probably because very few places in the world are as safe as where you live.

  2. Very jealous! I love SE Asia.

Tony makes many good points especially about cheap flights. Air Asia is your friend out there. I would advise getting a bus/coach from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Its only about 6 hours and you get to see a lot of the Cambodian countryside. Costs about 15USD.

  3. We have a pretty good record at the Emirates right? Like only lost once there or smth.

From BBC: Villa, who will guarantee their Premier League safety with a point, have only won once in their last 24 league games away to Arsenal.

Time to make that two wins in the last 25 away games at the Emirates!

Maybe we should play 'relaxed and with a smile on our face' more often, cracking finishes from Bent, great assist from Walker and Youngy too.

Looked a tad shaky at the end of the half, but did well to hold out - and West Ham look like they'll get the result, that relegation thread could be locked this evening.

I can think of at least 5 victories in the last 20 years or so...

  4. 40 quid just for food or like going out and stuff aswell?

Knew it would get blown out of proportion :D it's my fault for not explaining it thoroughly, so sorry.

Nope, it's 40 quid for just going out, buying stuff etc., I can live with it but it'll mean being very austere and eating at home as far as I can guess. (cos technically I'm still a minor, so my parents provide food for me at home, but going out of the house will be a problem.)

Edit: Includes transport costs as well, for the times when I'll be going out on my own instead of being together with the family. So it's 40 quid for entertainment and transport expenses, but not for food or bills or anything major like that.

You won't get far on £40 a month for entertainment in Singers, as i'm sure you are aware! Its one of the most expensive places I have ever been!

  5. Just had an offer accepted on a property - my first one! Been renting for a number of years in Four Oaks but feel now is the time to buy.

Nice one mate, I've been renting for the past 2 years, I moved back into my parents house a few weeks ago and I'm looking to buy in the next few months.

What are you buying? House/ flat?

    Still in Four Oaks?

    Hi mate

Buying a flat - live on my own and very rarely spend a great deal of time at home so only really need a base. I'm buying in Aldridge. I looked at Four Oaks to buy but it's too pricey.

  6. I am going against the popular view here but I think a quality watch is worth the money. A good watch will last you a lifetime and probably will increase in value if maintained well and you choose the right one.

  7. Lava is a decent place to make a few shapes on the dancefloor.... that is in the aforementioned Old Brewery Quarter. Plenty of places to grab some food in there as well.

  8. My salary is massively dependent on bonuses. My base salary can be classed as average but performance based bonuses can make my total gross for the year vary from being good to fantastic depending on how much I have exceeded my targets by.

I work for a Bank in relationship management role.

  9. In Singapore with the cost of living rising faster than wage increases (just like in Britain) it's just common sense that people would not be interested in setting up families, or choose to have less, later. A lot of the elites (definition?) here, including the media, don't seem to understand this very basic logic though.

Talk about being out of touch sometimes.

What is classed as a decent wage in Singapore? When I was out there in December, I thought it was very expensive. Especially alcohol. Paid $24 for a mojito in Clarke Quay. Was lovely though!

  10. Just come back from 24 days in SE Asia... going from 30 degree heat to this is killing me! I'm sitting in my living room with my hoodie and beanie hat on... and i'm still cold! :-(

  11. Mamihlapinatapai (sometimes spelled mamihlapinatapei) is a word from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego, listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the "most succinct word", and is considered one of the hardest words to translate.

It describes "a look shared by two people with each wishing that the other will initiate something that they both desire but which neither one wants to start."

    Wikipedia

    We've all been there.

    I'm there now!

  12. I read the two Stephen Fry autobiographies recently... Moab is my Washpot and the Fry Chronicles. Both fantastic.

Currently reading Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle.

  13. I think people of my age (31) still remember when footballers used to live in semi detached homes in Walmley and driver Rover 200's. Nowadays, they live in gated mansions with a plethora of super cars.

Trent's post sums it up perfectly. I have been losing the love for the game for years. I had a season ticket for 10 seasons in a row... now I barely go down and to be honest, I don't miss it that much anymore.

It needs a massive like Liverpool or Man Utd to go bust for people to realise that this can't carry on anymore.
