Any of those have any monthly fees or anything?

You just need a HSBC account. I don't think you need to use it at all, but the savings account is only open to existing customers.

If you're just looking to put a few grand in, then one with your own bank should be ok? Or just open a second account with them and leave it in there. You'll get no interest but might be easier.

I like to keep a few month's cash easily available and not tied up in investment/shares, but am struggling to find a decent easy access place to save it.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

Who do you bank with if you don't mind me asking?

HSBC do 4% for the first £50k in their online bonus saver (reduces if you make a withdrawal in the month)

    Cheers mate.

i've never had the burning feeling before in my wrists. Felt horrible.

Made it into the office today, but absolutely spent now. It took all my energy just to get there and back. I reckon I'll sleep well later!

Sorry to hear that mate. If you aren’t 100% tomorrow take a day off and chill.

Feel a lot better today, thanks chaps. Still feel a bit aggrieved that I lost a whole weekend, but happy that my hands don't appear to be on fire anymore!

WFH today as had a lot of deals to complete on, but will definitely be booking some time off soon. I've had 1 day off from my 2024 allocation so far!

  5. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Good passer, can drive forward and is a bit of a physical unit.

He brings the average ability of the squad up as well. See him as a replacement for Sanson/Dendoncker.

  6. He's been excellent this season and we could have definitely done with a player like him in the last few weeks of the season.

He's not going to be a regular, he'll just add some depth to the bench.

  7. Taylor Swift is 34 years old, yet plays the teenage heartbroken princess all the time. I guess she knows what sells and what her fans like. The fact she releases multiple slightly different versions of the same album must be a nightmare for collectors.

That being said, she gave all the truckers who helped on her last tour, a cheque for $100k each, which was a thoroughly nice thing to do.

It's interesting that after first 19 games of the season we are in 4th place.  But for the second 19 games of the season we are 9th, behind Man Utd (8th) , Spurs (7th) Palace (6th) Newcastle (5th) and Chelsea (4th).   After the brilliant calendar year in 2023 over two half seasons , I'd say we've been "limping" for a while.  Some of it will be down to the extra European matches (none of the other teams mentioned had European football in the second half of the season) with tiredness and injuries clearly taking their toll.   But other teams also had injuries, arguably even worse affected  in the cases of Newcastle and Chelsea, and some had longer runs in the EFL Cup and FA Cup.   I think there is evidence that a few of the better coaches know how to counter Emery's system. We've seen Newcastle, Chelsea (Cup), Spurs and Olympiakos beat us at VP with intensive high pressing and late runners past the high line exploiting our weaknesses,  and Palace did it effectively yesterday albeit against a lethargic version of Villa wearing their flip-flops.    We've also developed an alarming habit of conceding from set pieces and crosses.

I love Emery to bits but I think it's not unreasonable for some to be "unconvinced" nor to say the second half of the season has not been that convincing.   Ok it's the whole season that counts but you also need to consider trends and momentum.  Next season will be tougher because that Chelsea team have started to realise their potential and  if they keep Pochetino or get another elite manager, they're going to be right up there.    Newcastle, if they have more luck with injuries, will challenge and it's hard to imagine Man Yew being as poor as they've been this year again.

Since Emery has been here, 62 or 63 games have been played in the league by clubs, and we are 4th in the league since that point.

You are right, we have limped a little bit recently but thats down to a huge injury list we have, andI bet we've only slipped to 9th in that period over the last 3 games.

Next year will be tough again, but with some new players and injury returns, I'm confident we will be fine

15/16 Villa are now only the fifth worst team in Prem history:

Sunderland, Derby, Huddersfield and Sheffield United all picked up lower point totals.

I was sure Swindon would be worse, but they managed 30 points (from 42 games).

My memory has them being appalling, but I guess not as bad as I recall!
