  1. Been busy pissing about all morning,  but will have a quick look at the cards now to see if there's a lucky 15/31 to be had for today.

Also stuck a bet on Villa which I am normally against doing but Fulhams form away and also against us is shocking, combined with our solid home form, we look a decent bet when you dig around for a bit of value.

Paul Nicholls had a great day at Wincanton yesterday. He rules that track so it wasn't too surprising.

Today, Nicholls sends a few runners to Sandown. He has the favourite in the last race, which is a 2m bumper. Interestingly though, he has sent just one runner to Ffos Las for their final race, which is a 2m bumper. The horse is owned by JP McManus and a debutant - Jalila Moriviere - and currently at 6/4 with Bet365. It's French bred so maybe he sent it there knowing it will get softer ground, which French bred horses seem to relish? It's also Lorcan Williams' only ride on the card.

Also at Ffos Las, Donald McCain has sent just one runner on a 7.5 hour, 280 mile, round trip. It's ridden by Theo Gillard - his only ride on the card. The horse's name - Gold Emery. I'm all over that at 6/1.

Loving the info and research here.  :thumb:

Also Freddie Gingells only ride of the day is at Sandown for Nicholls on the favourite in the first race. He’s a very good jockey and his partnership with Nicholls is very good.

His ride yesterday was absolutely joyous - even though we didn't have it, it was a brilliant ride and this kid is going places.

Not sure where to put this and not sure what I think but whilst out yesterday I bumped into a mate of mine who’s been a regular ST holder for a few years with his nephew. Mentioned the game today and he said he’s had his season ticket cancelled. Basically he few years younger than me suffers with COPD so sometimes is unable to work. Also his nephews mum died two weeks ago so it’s been a bit of a shit time lately . He rang Villa up asking for an extension payment for his Season tickets and explained his circumstances. The person on the phone agreed to sort something out, but then few days later said if he can’t make the agreed payments his season tickets will be cancelled. He’s disgusted by it and said he’ll never step foot inside Villa Park again.

That is very sad to see that no empathy and a lack of remorse has been shown.

I think he should take this higher with someone at the club (when is he ready).

What do you as a punter think is more important out of anything ?

Distance / Going / Class / Handicap mark/ Course form

for me the main thing is the distance. You either get the distance or you don’t where as I’ve known good ground horses win big races in soft . I give each criteria a % when I try and rate a race up . Trying to figure how by percentages at moment

I like previous course form, it's always a factor most of the time when I'm having a look. As long as the fancied selection can get the distance or mildly stepping up in distance too then that's okay. Class comparisons often considered not not a major factor.

I don’t know it’s it just me or an actual angle but Venetia Williams seems to do very well with horses upped in distance . She’s got one running in the big one at Aintree 2.45 which is being upped in distance .

You're right. She's another who often seems to land races at big odds when the form of the horse is questionable.

    For the lucky-15

    WINCANTON 14:25 The Big Breakaway

Others for tomorrow: I've gone for 4 folds 25p e/w - treating it like a lottery, if they all win/place, then great if not, tomorrow is another day.

1425    Wincanton    The Big Breakaway (IRE)
    1900    Chelmsford     Different Tone (GB)
1358    Gowran Park    Crack The Sky (GB)
    1350    Wincanton    Knappers Hill (IRE)

Today's results so far are place, place, place, win, waiting for the result of the 1930.

No goliath on today mate  🤔

Are you still working from one of your systems?

  9. So just stuck 4 various Lucky 15's on varying from win to e/w.. strong fancies to loud e/w shouts.

Will be backing most of them on singles too.. So much for having no involvement today!  😆

One that might be worth getting on now is Cosmic Outlaw 1.05 Kelso. Was 20/1 this morning and already into 12/1. It's a duel CD winner too.

Looking forward to seeing our hero Frodon run today . Such a great horse and back in handicap company running off same mark he won this race off last year. I know he can handle soft ground but I don’t think he’s at his best on it anymore and lumping 12 stone and being a year older may take its toll . I’ll kick myself if he wins because I’ve gone with Sam Brown who I had slightly in front on my ratings for this race .

I love Frodon. Won plenty of cash for me over the years. As you say, age is against and lumping loads of weight won't help. I won't be happy either if it wins as I've also gone against it too.

anyhow 40 years later  , if i even smell Advocaat , my stomach starts churning

    This stuff!

It's been over 25 years, but even to this day the stuff strikes the fear into me now still. Even when passing by it in a supermarket is enough to bring back the awful experience of it back in a flash. Rancid!

Shame I missed the tribute and torch display due to horrendous ticketing issues outside north stand upper prior to the game.

Sad to see this is still an on-going problem!  🙄
