  1. Just a quick word about horses. How on earth are you suposed to get to 90G? Me and Tarj are both early 30's now, so have only 8 or so levels to go, I just can't see how I'm going to get the money. I know each level means higher and higher XP needed, and thus more time to save, and you kill harder things for better drops, but every other level up seems to take a big chunk of my gold for power ups. Plus it's getting more and more expensive for repairs. At the moment I'm making about 1G a day on the AH, and a bit more from q's and kills, but this gets eaten up quickly.

    Any tips?

  2. A big thanks to Si for last night, he really is a star, taking time out to help when he receives little or nothing in the way of XP for it.

Tonight's order of business then. Me and Dan got the boof from the barrow which Tarj still needs to do, so we'll help there. You then have to go to Undercity, where a bloke gives you the final q to get the last book from a monastery in Trisfal. I've also got The Den (elite) q in Stonetalon to finish, and the second part of the alien egg q in the Needles. Plus I think we should do an instance, anyone up for finishing Blackfathom?

  3. Need some help in the 1000 Needles tonight. But it's a Q anybody can do, and the first of it takes about 30 seconds, for 1000 XP, nice! The second bit, which I haven't attempted yet, will mean 2-3 of us fending off waves of attacks from Roguefeathers. Sounds like fun, course it does! Loads of XP, and some nice prizes at the end from what I've read.

  4. A good question Al, one I was wondering myself. You have to put in your account name and password to log on, so it shouldn't matter which one you use it from, it should retrieve your character. The problem I can see is installing it in on two machines, as you have to put in a code, which you can only use once.

  5. No problem mate...il kick your ass for free

Bring it on God botherer, bring it on! I've got a few things in the armoury now for spells. A purge spell that gets rid of one spell, and totems to protect me from spells for a minute. Not sure how good they are, which is why I think we should try and see what works best on each other, to give us the edge in PvP.

Another 2 HK last night by the way.

My mana stream totem was upgraded as well, so when I plant it it gives out something like 10 mana every two seconds for a minute. Doesn't sound much but it could be useful in instances, especially for you TRL.

  6. I ended up with a ghost costume last night, which was a bit strange.

I really am a bit thick sometimes. I hit L30, and received a self resurrection spell, so I thought I'd try it out by jumping off the top of Freewind. Well I duly splattered to the ground, only to realise that it needed an ankh as a reagent! D'oh!!!

And TRL I could do with duelling you tonight if poss, as I've got a two new totems that prevent certain magic spells working, and I want to see how effective they are. Hopefully it'll be useful if we run up against any bloody mages again!

  7. Interesting to see the dynamics of group involvelemt for the first time, rolling for treasure, and the very low xp gained when killing as part of a group. Where as I was getting 75 odd xp per tiger slain, once I joined a group even with Riss, the xp went down to about 7 !

Theres a good learning curve to the game but I feel I need a bit more soloing before I join you.

Yeah you're much better doing early quests by yourself, but on the flipside, with a bit of help you can whizz through your quests and get your XP rewards faster. I suppose the rationale is that theoretically I can kill 10 tigers in the time it takes you to kill one, so you get a 10th of the XP.

It's a shame that there aren't any others from here starting at the same time, as me, Bicks, TRL and Dan all got going about the same time, so were able to do similar level quests together, which is good fun.

It was weird going back to the Echo Isles as L29. Three weeks ago me and Dan found it quite hard going, but last night as Juju says one blow took out everybody.

Hope the leather armour and staff helped Juju, as you get higher I can make you better stuff.

  8. And on the subject of the Halloween stuff, it's all very nice, but I can't help but wonder if it's the cause of the problems logging on, then the really slow latency yesterday. I was helping Juju out a bit and we went to Orgri, and the lag was just nightmarish, even worse than usual.

How long are the halloween quests on for, as it's making doing quests around the high 20's level in Hillsbrad even more fraught with danger than ususal. I must have been ganked 4 times just trying to cash in a q in Tarren Mill, why didn't they choose a high level area for the fun?

  9. Yeah it was mental in Hillsbrad last night. I was trying to kill a load of yetis on a q, and ended up being helped by two Alliance hunters. My sentry alert came up, but one of them waved at me and the other one smiled, so we helped each other out. I'll probably be shot as a traitor now! Made a change from being ganked time after time by high level allies for a laugh on the way to tarren Mill though!

  10. I'm starting to think that one of the most useful things I have for the group is the earthbind totem. This slows mobs tgo 50% of their normal speed, stopping them running off to their chums when they're about to die. What I've started doing is casting a protection or strength totem to start with, then casting earthbind to make sure they don't get away.

I get a few nice things at L30 as well. Firstly reincarnation so I can res myself, which I'm really looking forward to! Also a grounding totem that protects the group from harmful spells for 10 seconds, and an upgraded healing totem that gives every group member 8 new health every 2 seconds for a minute. I love playing the Shamans in groups, it's the allrounder of the team and no mistake.

  11. Probably a "boss-spell" of some sort, because the target i cast it on, all the dmg i do to the target in one min. gets converted over to health gain at the party.

    Niiiiiccceeeee!

You're going to be everybody's best mate!

  12. I chased after the bitch, but she was quite fast, so I hit sprint, caught up with her, and carved her into pieces.

    Beautiful.

    Like your style Dan!

It really does get your heart racing, chasing after Ally. Gnomes seem to be really speedy, but when I'm in Ghost Wolf form I can reel them in. This one poor sod was legging it away from Zoram with me and TRL in hot pursuit. I managed to change back then get an earth bind totem down which slows their speed to 50% if in range. Got him nicely, then froze him, and his arse was toast! It's dead handy having TRL around, you can take real stick knowing that he's there healing away. Can't wait to see the mind control spell in action.

I've got a great spell, that lets me walk on water. I was being hit by two allies on the beach in Zoram, so I cast it, changed to wolf form and legged it out across the water, leaving them to wade about in the water, way out of harm's way!

  13. Well me, TRL and Dan had an ally killing spree tonight, reckon we must have done over 20 between us! I can't describe to a non WoWer just how much it gets your heart racing, chasing some little Gnome ****, before unleashing a variety of shocks on him. As satisfying as it gets, although we did have a bit of trouble with a L30 Mage bastard and his hunter mate near Splintertree.

  14. I have done, which is why I know about it! Killed two allies on the way as well, which was most satisfying. One of them was L26 and he'd just killed a L20 Horde Warlock. I therefore took great delight in opening a can of whupass on him, picking on people 6 levels below you indeed.

Anyone else like the thrill of venturing into contested areas? Really can't see the point of playing on a PvE server.

  15. I'm playing again tonight.

Could have done with you last night in Razor Fen. Has anyone else got the flight plan from Zoram Strand? It's right in the far west coast of Ashenvale, past Astranaar, which I had to circumvent, but there's a few highish XP q's there which aren't that taxing, and you get another flight path.
