You're right, we need a lot more quality to come in. But the selection is hardly making things easier, no width, no creativity.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, it's the first game of the season ffs. Shall we give him a chance to change things in the second half?

It's not good enough so far. It's RDM's job to instill confidence, if he can't do that then he's not the man for the job. We have played absolutely zero football this half, barely completed 5 passes in a row and haven't even tested the keeper. **** appalling, second half needs to be vastly better.

    He's not a **** magician, give him a chance!

Utterly shocking. Getting absolutely dicked. Bacuna on the right is horrific, Westwood and Gardner offer nothing either. Ayew is wasted on the left.

Reality check needed! We're coming from a long way back! We was never gonna dominate this game.

  4. Yes he definitely had one or two games where he looked good, all as subs I think. The point is he is there to create, and I think he only had one assist last season, hence the players around him comment.

  5. Again and again people compare a footballers contacts to their own, it's a completely pointless observation. It's chalk and cheese.

I'm pretty sure our solicitors would have exploited every possible avenue.

  6. I feel Adama is one of those players who is only as good as the players around him. If we play with a good structure he will be a prized asset. If we're a mess, he'll get lost in the madness. It's hard for a creative player like him to shine in a bad team.

Yeah sounds easy doesn't it this owning lark - however if we are to claw our way to the top half of the prem any decade soon, we have seen from last summer that we cannot afford to have any player who is not comitted to the cause - and that goes for any new signings, if they insist on a release clause because we are a stepping stone for them then they ain't welcome in the first place. That is an ethos that this owner wants and I for one am very happy for that to happen, even if we end up with one or two sulkers along the way. Again see Berahino, it can be done.

So IF his head was turned (meaning he was interested in the move),surely it's just best to sell, as long as our valuation is met.

Berahino is a terrible example. It's impossible to gauge but it's fair to say he was a bad influence on that team.

John Stones performances dropped off significantly after Chelsea came in, coincidence?  Maybe, maybe not.

The best we can hope for is that nobody is interested.

I get the feeling Tony doesn't give a monkeys about what players want, if there's no release clause and he wants them to stay, he ain't selling. Player/agent have zero leverage in that situation regardless of what they want.

So then we potentially get stuck with a sulking player who could be a bad influence in the dressing room?

He's world class player and when the big boys come, what position are we in?

Xia has made it clear he isn't going anywhere.

That's not the problem. The problem is the player having his head turned. It's all down hill room there.

I'm amazed at the lack of interest even after the injury.

    No shit.

IIRC, Downing was injured when we signed him?

Risk and reward. A mid table prem team could stand a chance ATM. In six months time, the big boys could be sniffing around.

Not that I'm bothered, he's our best player.
