The person who probably tops the list of not being worthy to be happy with himself, is Raheem Sterling, who had an appalling tournament. The most overrated and overpriced player in the world. Hat tip to Roy Hodgson though, who persisted with Sterling as if he was watching Glee and saying 'you never know, it might come good soon'.

Despite this, the 21-year-old was happy to flaunt his life of luxury on Snapchat, giving his friends a tour of the lavish house that he bought his mother. While showing off his wealth, there's a caption on a snap of his cars saying 'my team winning'. No, they're not, Raheem. Your team is very far from winning.

And this is English football in a nutshell. Just when you thought they couldn't sink and lower.

I bought the new England shirt and it's going straight in the bin, I'm ashamed to be associated with these Scunthorpes...

If Wenger is a top manager, he won't have us playing that way. Surely one of the fundamental things to even being an average manager is understand what the players you have can and can not do?

There's a reason Arsenal have a very descript style of play. There's also a reason why he was the first manager to pick a non English 16.

Picking from a specified group of players couldn't be further apart from club football.

Expecting him to "play another way" is laughable and not a risk we can afford to take.

  3. Wenger is a top manager, no doubt, but I have no faith in our players to execute tiki taka. I really believe we need to get back to basics with a 4-4-2 with proper wingers and a solid structure. Big Sam for me, not glamorous but we're rock bottom, basics first.
