  1. I think my build will be very similar to what I have now, ie mainly ele with a side order of resto. I just think that I may go Elemental Mastery instead of Nature's Swiftness, not sure yet

Forget resto - I'm going to go Elem/Enhance and get Elemental Mastery. I like the new Elem talent that lets you cast uninterrupted after receiving a crit hit. Who needs Nature's Swiftness?

  2. Shaman Revamp, means nothing to me....Good or bad?

In a nutshell, they are making a shaman more of a spell caster and less of a melee class.

Improvements to the Elemental and Resto tree, along with a reduction in mana cost for a lot of spells. Nice.

Reduction in Windfury bonus and making flurry lvl 5 means very few (if any) shamans will spec for enhancement (read: melee).

I hope they give away a free respec, as the changes are fairly major - I'll be going more elem/resto.

  3. Will people stop posting in this redundant thread, everytime I come home from work I see its been posted in and I get false hope until I open it and find feck all has happened :(

Nah. It's good to have this thread. Once every couple of weeks or so you can open it up....

... and pick up the conversation immediately as though you had never left.

  4. Be interested to see what they do with the shammy resto and enhancement trees, as they badly need an overhaul. Enhancement (ie melee) shammies get precisely no gear whatsoever (ie plus str and agi gear). My agi is exactly the same as it was the day I first popped up in Valley of Trials, and my strength isn't much higher either! My +int and +sta are pretty insane though.

    Meh.

If you are a pure enhancement shammy you should have become a warrior.

At the very least you will need this set which massively ups your attack power.

Being halvies myself (elem, enhance) I refuse to respec to resto for anybody. Shammies are not good healers, period - they are supliments to a priest or druid at best. And the manatide, as you suggest, is overratted and I can compensate with this goody and your usual mana spring totems.

Shammies are suppliments to the rest of the party, not a specialist at anything.

  5. Couldnt you kite him with frost shock and just go for the slow DPS/outheal him method? You should be able to take out things that far below, surely?

I never had any problems with elites at all while soloing. Unless they couldnt be feared of course! But hasnt the Shaman got any kind of equivialnt of a fear lock where you can do damage and not get hit in PvE, or is your Chainmail Armour and Ablilty to self heal the tradeoff for lack of PvE kiting skills?

Its immune to fear (not that I have a fear spell, anyway).

It's also immune to fire damage, making my DOT totems useless, along with my DOT flameshock spell.

Frostshock was being resisted - but it only slows movement anyway, not attack speed.

And, no, there is no lock (other than a racial tauren stomp to stun for 2 secs) for shamans - since we can heal ourselves and have instant cast spells.

That left me with buffing totems (duly taken out by a couple of lvl 36 adds from the environment), nature shock for spells, and hand-to-hand combat.

If you read some of the posts in my original allakhazam link, I wasn't the only one to struggle soloing this guy - and I rushed it since there was an alli hunter trying to steal the kill.

When I came back, it had disappeared (the corpse of the alli was still there though :winkold: ) so I will have to try again some other day.

  6. So here I am wandering Alterac Mountains on my Shaman quest chain when I stumble across Narillasanz

    Hmmm.....

    .... Level 44 Elite....

    ... I'm Level 51....

... he'll have some decent loot....

    ... this'll be easy!.

    GANK! Not even close.

Hits for 250+, breathes for 400+ (half that with my fire resist totem) and resists a good percentage of my spells. Still, I reckon I could do better if he didn't renew himself for around 250hp every 10 seconds or so.

Ah well, one for the revenge list when a few more lvls up. Back to grinding. :winkold:

  7. Talk about keeping it quiet! All the way to L51 before making a first post on here!

Meh. You already had one shaman on the forum, why another? :winkold:

On that - have you tried the Call Of Elements addon for shamans? Basically groups all your totems together by element in an autohide window which can be ordered and moved around.

Also, in PVP, it automatically changes "sets" of totems to what is most appropriate for your targetted enemy (e.g. grounding totem for a mage) and you can throw them with one key binding while not losing target.

It can also prompt for when to throw a totem like poison/disease cleansing or tremor totem for fear.

Read more here - Hello, version 2.3 is out!`

Oh, and since when do you catch a bat to silithus? :winkold:

  8. Nice to have you on the team mate, you kept it quiet didn't you?!

Heh heh - mostly because I'm not on Deathwing. Nor a PVP server. (Not that I had much choice - I started playing when the "Oceania" region had only 2 servers - in total - both PVE. We now have 3 in total  )

Have been reading this thread for a while and learned a lot of stuff....

.... like you only need 1 button for a rogue :winkold:

  9. ^^Tell us more about your character.

    Not much to tell.

    "Boneblood"

    Tauren Shaman lvl 51

    Elemental/Ehancement - "Halvies" :winkold:

    Skinning/Leatherworking (DragonScale)

    Stone Guard

And that's about it. I keep forgetting to run cosmos.exe after playing to upload my profile to Thotbot, but I don't have any real special gear.

I do have the coldrage dagger from a boss drop in RFD which I just cannot part with. Windfury with a 1.50 speed and slowing movement - it rocks in the bgs.....

    ... well, it used to.

And Shamans getting plate in 1.11? Makes my LW skill useless then, doesn't it

  10. Please all create alts and take them to Orgrimmar, and join Nayson's alt guild. Make sure you get a tabard, and make sure you die outside the AH before logging. 6 corpses there at the moment, we need more!

    Heh heh...

On the Khazgoroth server, we have 2 dead gnomes sitting in the doorway of the AH in org.

    Their names? "Welcometothe" and "Avctionhouse"

    :winkold:

  11. Why do you hate Taurens on the BG? Why do you hate their **** Kodo's?

Why do you hate Taurens in instances? Why do you hate Taurens everywhere?

because your in THE **** WAY

    Meh.

Learn to use your Tab and zoom buttons.

    :winkold:

  12. Let's see...

    - A father scares his young son witless.

    - Tapes the whole thing.

    - Doesn't offer any apology or comfort when the kid is crying.

    - Posts the video on the internet to further his embarrassment.

And that's funny? This is your son, not your mate.

If I met the father, I'd give him a backhander.

  13. Guaranteed for how long? Just this season?

Here's a conspiracy theory for you:

The negotiations are stalling because Villa have not yet plumbed the depths. The new owners want Villa in the prem, but just above the relegation places. Why? The answer is 2-fold:

    a) They have a case for lowering the asking price

    B) They will look the part of "Messiahs" in fans eyes by simply investing a few bob in the squad and raising our standing in the prem.

..... gotta stop licking those frogs.... :winkold:

  14. Dunno, tricella.

If a consortium was quick in buying Villa, they could be just as quick to dump it.

If you are looking at a long term investment then you want to make sure that you are buying something worthwhile at a price that is fair and equitable and that it can be done with the resources you intend to plough into it. This sort of consideration takes time.

So are the Comers just "going over it with a fine tooth comb"? Or are they just disinterested?

Your guess is as good as mine.

  15. Personally speaking my only scepticism is that it's the club paying, not Ellis - it is after all Ellis's shares they're touting, on Ellis's behalf, at the behest of Ellis, essentially. The sceptisicm is that if he doesn't want to sell ( I don't share this view - I think he does want to sell) then by appointing someone to "ask for bidders/provide ideas" he isn't perhaps just holding off criticism. Like I say it's not a view I share, though I understand why people do have that doubt.

    I'm not sure about this.

Yes - Ellis is using the club to sell his shares. But in the same breath, he couldn't get Rothchilds in to sell his shares only and claim that that is a takeover of the club. Because it's not - it's only buying out his share.

They are selling the club - the entire club - with the majority of shareholders needing to agree to the purchase. As such, they have to do it through the club itself.

Sucks, eh? But that's what happens when you own the majority share.

  16. Nah Malc - no Doug supporter here. In fact, are there any? What he has done to the club is obvious - can't even afford a loan so 2 kids play in central midfield. That's gotta be ringing alarm bells in peoples heads, no?

I had no problem with the rest of your statement - in fact, I agree wholeheartedly - that's why I didn't bother making a comment.

It was just your segreggation of fans that irked me. Many get lumped into the Tic Tac brigade despite valid and well thought out points of view.
