  1. Meh.

Nobody cares about DPS? Ask a rogue, mage or hunter. :winkold:

Went farming for the eye of shadow in WS last night with a warrior alt. Had to heal, buff and DPS to get through. The extra DPS made all the difference.

As for buffs - there's a totem for every situation:

Need purging for poison? Or Disease? Or fear? Or Sleep? Done.

    Need more agil? Done.

Need more DPS? Done - in 1 of 3 ways (windfury, Strength, Firetongue)

    Need damage reduction? Done?

    Need threat reduction? Done.

Need more mana? Or health? Done.

Need to absorb that spell? Done.

Need Fire, Frost or Nature resistance? Done.

And you can change any one at any time.

Absolute shite? Only if you group with a shaman that doesn't bother dropping them.

  2. Awesome Video

Watch the above vid to see the "vanish bug" in practice, it actually made me laugh, especially when its replayed in slow mo with that horrible, horrible music.

    Proves the point though

Meh. I dont see the problem.

Rogues don't simply vanish into thin air immediately. They fade out over a (small) period of time. That is, the stealth ability is immediate, but it's affects take about 1-2 seconds.

Now if somebody has the rogue targetted, they do not lose that target until the stealth has completed

    So....

The autoattack didn't break his stealth - he wasn't stealthed at that point.

And the death coil wasn't cast after he had stealthed. It was already being cast by the warlock and he got the spell off before the rogue had completed his stealth. He just noticed the affects after he stealthed - but the spell was already travelling and will hit its target stealth or not.

Or, in other words, cry more Rogue - you tried to gank a warlock and got teh pwned!! :winkold:

  3. Of course, a real professional would level her to 45 and make it so she can drink Firewater (or at least think of another way to make her bigger) but the run from Red Cloud Mesa to Orgrimmar and getting ten people to sign the charter was enough work for one night!

    :lol::lol::lol:

    Nice work, Rev!

  4. Commando. Terrible movie, but the best one-liners.

"C'mon Sully - this is my weak arm!"

"Dont wake my friend - he's dead tired"

"Lets' take Sully's car - he wont be needing it"

"Why dont you let off some steam!?"

"All that matters to me now is CHenny!" *that's "Jenny" - but with Arnie's accent.*

And that's just off the top of my head. :winkold:

As for action films that involve owls - albeit a mechanical one - how can you miss Clash of the Titans?? Swords, mythology, monsters, skeletons, special effects, magic, owls - it's all there! In the eyes of a 10 year old (I saw this movie for my 10th birthday) - what other movie compares??

Oi! And you forgot the Conan movies! And how about Highlander?

  5. Nah, he is reset Dan. Just thought id worry you for a bit.

Anyway, this is up on Wowrush.com too, but have Limpids old guild only gone and made one of the best Horde to Alliance '**** you' moments ever?

too good to leave buried on the last page. youtube has been down ever since i posted the message, so i doubt many have seen it.

    That's quality.

Our guild is planning one for some time in the next few weeks....

... though spelling "ULTIMATE" might prove a little too difficult :winkold:

  6. Yep, if I were you I'd respec resto now and get some practice in, and start gearing up that way. You're a lot more use in most 20 and 40 man raids you'll find. I'm currently 0/5/46 after spending most of my shammy life as an elemental 30/0/21, and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. It's not a great grinding or PvP spec, as damage output is obviously greatly reduced, but you can easily heal a five man raid, and will be in demand for all raids, and much loved in your guild.

Thanks for the advice Risso - much appreciated.

I'm still a little unwilling to respec just yet - I love my 31/20/0 build.

When taking down Golemagg, I was in a group with 3 rogues and 1 hunter. Needless to say my improved AOG totem talent was appreciated, along with the somewhat poorer (compared to other shammies) but sufficient heals.

That bonus would be lost in a resto build - as would all my DPS, making my semi-regular BG forays useless.

  7. Are you doing Onyxia yet? And the 20 mans? There is some real nice stuff in ZG, and the books in AQ are always welcome.

Not yet for Ony, but doing the 20 mans regularly - which I am not often a part of yet

Still lagging a long way behind some of the places you lot have been.

And your videos are awesome, Rev!

    Sweet! Thanks for the link...

.... though my chances of remaining a DPS shaman are pretty small.

  8. Went to MC for the first time last night. The raid was full of classes in blues with limited FR (just like me). As such, we wiped a few times on the trash mobs....

... but still managed to down Geddon, Shazzrah and - with only 35 players left - Golemagg.

    clicky

  9. Blizzard needs to find a way to make shammies more effective, not just say "ah sod it, let's give Horde bubble poofs and we can get to the pubs quicker!"

Still siding with Risso on this issue.

If you take away the difference between the factions - that is, Shammies and Paladins - purely for gameplay then choosing a faction is simply a coin toss. It really makes no difference which side you are on.

They had some options with the latest shammy review:

    1) Make the totems stack (e.g. 2 shammies in a party dropping FR doubles the resistance)

    2) Make the totems raid wide (not group wide)

    3) Allow a talent for dropping 4 of ANY totem (eg mana + health + FR and 1 other).

    4) Any combination of the above.

    But they did nothing....

... except introduce "Holy" pussy-bubbling paladins to the decidely unholy (and unpussy) Horde.

    Lame.

  10. And I have to say I think the Horde loladins/Alliance shammies idea is a bit crap, sort of the WoW equivalent of a TV show rewriting its stories to fit in with a character returning, eg Bobby dying then a whole series being a dream in Dallas (one for our older readers there!).

    Agreed.

No self respecting Horde player would ever roll a bubble-pussy. :winkold:

That aside, the chances of Shammies getting into Raids over Pallys is next to zero.

  11. Meh.

Like Shamans, Druids are a hybrid class - jack of all trades and master of none. If you buff their abilities enough then every warrior, rogue or mage wannabe would roll a druid just for their versatility.

As for PVP tricks, changing form seems to do a good job of dispelling any dots on you. If a druid is running and changing forms (and healing inbetween) there is simply NO WAY I (a shaman) can stop them, let alone kill them.

  12. Question: Why would anyone want to make a private server? Isn't the multiplayer experience the reason to play in the first place? And whats the point in filling it with ultra-uber-cant-be-touched gear that doesn't appear in the public servers?

  13. Gotta love Elemental fury though Risso (31 pt elem). A mana free critical spell hit.

Combine it with Elemental Devastation (+9% melee crit for 10s after a crit spell hit), Thundering Strikes (+5% melee crits) and Flurry (30% increase in weapon swing time) and you get a massive DPS spike for 10 seconds every 3 minutes - especially if you are lucky enough to get Windfury to proc during that time.

    Bonus!

  14. Warlock, and why dont you think Mages are getting a huge, huge buff in 1.11 (both big threat reduction in PvE for easier raid damage and viable elemental builds at last in PvP for some serious firepower) ?

Meh. Warlock... Mage... what's the difference? :winkold:

As for the buff, my mage friend is not so happy about the changes to evocation...

... not that I know or care about evocation personally - or anything to do with mages as a matter of fact. :winkold:

  15. A good mage should be able to kite the shit out of anything.

    Can't argue with that.

Having said that, ive just stuck 36 points in the Destruction tree in a bid to curb my disapointment at never getting any loot, ever, in any raid. If my maths are right, i now have a not to be sniffed at 1,340 dkp. Please game, let me spend it on something. Please?

Heh heh... you're a mage. What do you need loot for? :winkold:

Looking forward to your 1.11 nerf?

  16. Well geared Trinket mage would blow the shit out of you though. Thats why trinkets got nerfed in 1.10, and are getting nerfed again in 1.11

You cant get in their face with weapons. FN, Blink and Cone of Cold slowing effect ftw.

Oh, and 3rd link on the Right Hand side of that video? Guy from our server, Fear.

Gotta admit - I have duelled many a time with a mage friend and never won....

... mind you he is/was 5 lvls higher and I've gotten close.

As for getting within weapon range, drop an earthbind totem. You can only blink so often.

  17. Meh. See mage, throw Earth shock, drop Grounding totem.

Get in his face with weapons, jumping around, spamming earth shock to keep him from casting and using the PVP trinket to break frost if necessary. Easy.

    :winkold:
