So last night a friend I haven't seen for a while was telling me a story about how they got sent up to Liverpool with their elderly mother for her to see a specialist in something medical. Only I kinda zoned out a bit after the bit about how this taxi driver "Didn't seem to like John Lennon very much!". "What's he ever done to get his own airport?" was heard, apparently. Obviously my mind kinda wondered towards what shirt a certain poster was wearing that day

every time the giant douche/turd sandwich gets rolled out (sometimes by me) I always think people react to it in a way that they forget not to take the ongoing 20 odd year old joke off south park too seriously.

Does feeding will birds create an imbalance which is bad for nature?
We've got a couple of bird feeders that generally benefit the smaller garden birds. And a couple of nesting boxes that help Blue Tits and Great Tits.
So are there far more Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Goldcrests and Nuthatches than there should be.
They tend to feed the little green caterpillars to. Their chick's in breeding season. Are those insects being decimated because of too many small garden birds?
Are larger birds suffering because they're being out competed by the smaller birds?
I don't know but it's something I've wondered about.

Went up Pen y Fan today. Dusting of snow on the top and a fair bit of ice in places, but a really nice clear winters day on the way up. As we approached the top we could see lots of dark clouds rolling over. Was icy cold and rather windy all of a sudden in the middle of a cloud. That windchill was brutal.

I hope the A44 is pleased with itself. Look at the mess it's made.

Saw it advertised as being in Disney + so just watched the first episode of Malcom in the middle after about 20 years
forgot how good a show it was … I’m gonna have to watch the whole lot now , aren’t I !!
The one where they go to burning man and they think hal is performance art is one of my favourite episodes of any tv show ever made. Hugely underrated show.

I did manage to still look like an escaped window licker though in said passport photo, so that's ok then

Have you tried it yet? Not straightforward to get one they'll accept. Wrong background, wrong size, wrong resolution, you name it. I tried every which way before I gave up and used a photobooth.
this was my brothers experience too

You're talking to the guy who doesn't even own a mobile phone

It's fairly damning that it took a TV dramatisation to actually get some mass movement on the Post Office scandal, when Private Eye and, to be fair, a few MPs have been banging the drum over how obviously it was a scandal and complete failure of justice, and barely anybody gave a **** and even less actually got some retribution from it.
just said exactly the same thing to MrsVM.
On and in the news for years and no one bats an eyelid. Histodrama about it on a TV channel and suddenly everyone's appalled (as they should be)

Renewing the passport so I just visited a photo me booth for the first time in a long time. The fact that it gives me a code to use on my online application that the dotgov site had the photo in question within seconds of it being taken in a post office in Mid Wales is both amazing and terrifying at the same time to me.

A question for the design crowd - how much of the detail of these things are copyright issues? are there things we'd be avoiding for any legal reason? is my question I suppose.

I think I've actually changed my mind a little bit over the last year or so of all this badge stuff.
I definitely have a round preference, and I have always said the Name (not the initials), the star and 1874 along with a return to a more traditional Rampant Lion were the building blocks to play with - that and doing away with the yellow on blue of course.
I'm less allied to quite a few of those, But the Rampant Lion and the claret and blue bit are the two I have any strong feelings about.
I'm very much on board with the idea of multiple logos based around the new look if that's what we go with, covers people's shape and detail preferences.

Got a new board game "Wingspan" for Xmas. Really good to be fair, would recommend for any board game fans out there.

over in the wales we have all that shizzle about building schools and amenities so its all gravy but then of course they dont actually have to build them just say they will and wait for people to move there and then suck their teeth a lot and tell them to get ****ed while they keep all the money. It's great. my friends who live next to the M4 now are so glad they bought a new build mid project.....

Had a night out for the 15 year old nephew's birthday this week and we all went out to Cardiff's very own board game cafe/bar Chance and Counters.
Great stuff, nice and friendly staff and a good way to while away a few hours with a beer and a burger which were alright.
