Chelsea trying to play like us?

So it's basically 5th at minimum for us.
In essence, an outstanding season regardless of how the rest plays out.
Let's get that 4th spot now!

They are sending Klipp off with a whimper.

Not normally a fan of stripes (especially narrow ones) but this had a lot of appeal too… not sure if it’s influenced by my love of Merse and especially Carbone at the time
The badge isn’t great though… the lines don’t help at all… should’ve just been a claret background and then the lion would’ve stood out.
Loved the old baggy type shirts instead of all this modern, skin tight crap
That's a nice kit, and like you, I'm not general a fan of stripes.

as those would require the assistance of an agency and almost certainly the leaked logo was done in house.
ONE talented designer/artist could probably do all of that, I'm not sure why that would necessarily " require an agency ".
I'm pretty confident the roll out will be a branding kit and elements. I highly doubt they are just going to splodge a crest and say that's it
I do also think they will have consulted some sort of agency, even if it turns out to be shite. ( Could be wrong obs )

We're also better at managing, coaching, set pieces, throw ins and keeping.... if you read the match threads.
Also a good point

I don't understand why NSWE hired a President of Business Operations. It's obvious that new, bigger contracts would just have fallen into their laps anyway without a PBO. They'd have been better off without wasting money on a salary and relocating someone from another country. To be honest they could probably have got someone in on work experience and just asked them to forward on the new contracts when the postman delivered them to reception. We probably don't need a manager either - the players should be good enough to know what they are doing - most / all of them are internationals. How hard is it to kick a ball around a pitch and then get someone to kick it into the net (hopefully at the right end of the pitch). The last manager was so bad that of course Emery was going to score more points than him - most of those points gained are just down to the fact that the last guy was useless. So that's more money that could be saved. We don't really need scouts either - just read through the suggestions made on some of the fan sites - these guys watch a load of football and can back up all their suggestions with great stats from fbref and inside information on what transfer fee their club's will demand and what wages the player will want. I mean that's probably at least another 10 salaries that we could save straight away.
Satirically summarised most of the thoughts I've wanted to, but refrained from expressing, to add to this cycle of " That's my story and I'm sticking to it no.matter what "

Codswallop.
Every single year, fans knock up kits 20x better than what we end up with.
On the last few pages people have come up with 20+ better badges than we've had for the last 17 years.
Good point to a degree in fairness.

Doubt it. There track record is impressive when given room. We gave them a box
I've been saying this about our kits and branding for years and years.
Too many restrictions, most of which are clutching to the past.

Where we are now and how well we are managed makes a huge difference as well, players will see how Rogers has been given a big chance and his sudden improvement and think I want a piece of that.
When a club like 'the new us' comes in for a player they will be in their managers door saying I want to go, European games, top 4 challenging and a dream manager/coach.
Indeed, other clubs CAN sign these types of players.
But could just as easily be faced with entering a struggling team, or be put on the bench/sent out on loan.
Here they will clearly see that there is a pathway for everyone to thrive.

With all the talks about player sales, and who some think weay need to sell etc.
Have we discussed Tielemans?
We did sign him on a free, and he is probably worth good money, also potentially someone we can replace cheaper?
Not saying I want him sold by any stretch, but as we know, these things go in order of value/age Vs contribution and replaceability etc.

As much as I like JJ for his club connections, I think we might have found someone on par here, maybe even a better player.
I think they could be on the pitch together and wreak havoc if I'm honest, they are slightly different.
I also think some people have forgotten how good JJ is at his best, due to his prolonged absence and lack of being able to get there this season.
Doesn't always have to be either/or.
Worst case, we have two very good players who are strong, quick and athletic.

Brighton really aren't the same anymore.
Only so many years in a row you can get away with selling your best players and progressing as a model.
Southampton are/were the best example of that.
