  1. I've seen a report saying that he WILL NOT hand in a transfer request , and will not choose to leave unless a bid is accepted.
  2. According to the Guardian City are going to offer us 24 million for Milner, I also saw another story saying that Milner would not put in a transfer request, and would only leave once we've accepted a bid.
  3. Has anyone seen the type of players Avram Grant at West Ham is trying to get, a relatively(understatement) lesser team than us? I'm not saying they'll get them , but just look at the ambition and vision. God I wish we had someone like him in charge, they could work wonders with our resources and a club of our stature. Ok my covert MON bashing is done for tonight, I'll now wait until the signings start happening to judge.
  4. I understand it from both sides but i must say I'm in the it's a ridiculous ploy by MON if true in this case, but for all we know maybe MON wants the straight cash because he has bigger fish to fry? We never know. Also kinda gutted about L.Young and Davies, moreso actually fuming about L.Young.
  5. I'm looking over that site too. It seems it's either done, or VERY close to being done. Or it could just all be fan forum bollox. 8)
  6. To be honest i've never seen him play "shite", just not up to the standards he is known for. This is similar to the Ashley Young debate really. :winkold:
  7. But we do the same to other teams. Most of us would also do the same in our professional lives.
  8. De Jong, Ireland, plus 10 mill, plus player sales and buy a top quality striker for 15-18 mill.
  9. But then Yaya Touré for £32m and £220k per week takes that reality and rips it all up again. City really are taking the piss aren't they. It's ridiculous.
  10. Never was there a more over rated player than Joe Cole Remember how he was the answer to our world cup prayers !! To be fair, exactly how much world cup did he play? :?
  11. Which is why we need a mega rich owner, or preferably, a Randy Lerner in charge backed by disgustingly huge sums of money.
  12. And me. Shame we've already got one that MON chooses to overlook, a good attacking full back, who is just as reliable defending. Luke Young, attacking? To be fair, we don't really know the story there (apart from the obvious). Whatever it is, maybe it resolves itself over the summer? Sorry, didn't make myself clear there, meant that the new rb, if we get one should have those qualities. Luke Young is many things be an attacking full back he is not. He gets forward a hell of alot more than Cuellar. Even has the odd pop at goal! I don't understand how you two completely write him off as an attacking fullback? Of course i'm not saying he purely is, but he is a very well balanced right back.
  13. And I hope to god MON has a replacement in place before this happens. Screw it, It might be time for us to push the boat out and sign a CM of real quality. Or just change the system and formation as someone else mentioned. At a stretch even have Reo-Coker as a sort of "sweeper" in front of the back four, Petrov a little further up and a brand new spanking Attacking midfielder of proven quality for big money! Or go the 5-3-2 route.
  14. I actually agree with you for once! The Devil must be wearing mittens. Kidding aside, I think that £28 mil is nowhere near enough to Milner considering how important he is to us now, and what he might become for us in the future if he stays. In fact, I would say that it would be a bargain considering the amount of cash City have. I also think that selling Milner will hurt us so much more than Barry and I think we will really struggle to find someone to replace the void left by him. Having two of our best midfielders leave for a rivalling club will hurt us on so many levels I'd rather not think about it at all. Anything under £35 mil should be rejected without any consideration. Hopefully it's 28 million plus Ireland and add on clauses. Would much rather we had 28 mill with Milner staying though. FFS! Even if Delph steps up and becomes the next BIg thing the same will happen. Sad really. Could go either way, could be the beginning of a new era where we have a much more balanced, youthful team mixed with the odd touch of the exotic. Or it could be a slippery slope back into mediocrity, or worse.
  15. I've just read on wikipedia that Sheikh Mansour has 2 wives.. so yup.. big family. You realise how pointless this statement is in the grand sheme of things surely?
  16. Well, Martin was surprised to find out, after defeat to West Ham that we did use least ammount of players last season, in fact that's an hattrick. But Martin won't think that losing tough away match yesterday at st.James Park was due to any other fact than, that you just can't beat recently promoted teams at their home starter. But we will be looking to bolster our squad before end of the month, hopely before Everton defeat at 28th, and it's not only up to MON, the big clubs have to got their time first, we are looking to things. What? I got it Spamm. :winkold:
  17. Unless Davies is on his way out. Or Cuellar to Madrid. :winkold:
  18. I don't want us to sign anyone with "Pants" in their name, yes, even if he was Brazilian and his name was Pantsinshio!
  19. Has anyone seen the reports that Man City apparently want to offer us 44million for Milner and Gabby.lol. Now theyre really taking the piss.
  20. worth Billions and Billions. The same way an ugly man becomes handsome.
  21. And Luke Young can't even get into a squad low on quality fullbacks. It's all relative to the respective managers really. Alves can't get into the Brazil team.
  22. Could Wigan signing this Boselli fella mean that Rodallega is Villa bound? I wouldnt be too sad about that at ALL.
  23. I'm suddenly feeling Randy should keep him and go all out to add some serious quality to the side!
  24. Yeah what a shit player he was.is. :? Anyway, on a serious note, Villa never do anything positively unexpected/spontaneous, rabbits out of hats etc! Wer're just so predictable and boring sometimes it pains me!!! Not necessarily pointing to Pires, but there are certain deals that could be had which would add an old experienced head to our squad, on frees or dirt cheap, even if they may only make the odd appearance, these types of players are the ones who change games with a late Cameo, or teach the young ones a great deal in every aspect of football! (Once again not really talking about Pires specifically)
  25. I see that West Ham are "close to signing" Juan Riquelme on a free. I think Grant is a very astute manager, they seem to be doing some very good deals.
