Perhaps its Gabriel Barbosa from Santos....

Seeing as Dr X said it normally takes 2 weeks to sort out visa/work permit issues we might be looking closer to home than some of the suggestions on here! Just a thought...
-
Lol, we are so used to having a hermit for an owner that we spend page after page on here speculating about someone joining then suddenly someone has the sense to just ask Dr X outright and gets a straight answer.
Lets have 10 pages discussing RVP now then ask him that one too.
That said, if we all actually agree on someone we all want perhaps we could smuggle the name into one of the great mans fortune cookies!

Sitting here getting more and more concerned about time running out whilst we still need about 5 players in. Could be one hell of an exciting deadline day though!

Opinions are like arseholes; we've all got them, and they all stink.
Just my opinion though of course.
And VT is full of erm, opinions....

Agree that we need a RB and an attacking mid, but for me we are absolutely crying out for a quality centre mid, and have been for many a year. Number one priority imo.
All 3 and a striker please

Probably painting a target on my back here but if RDM has had a chat with Richards and can get him performing in his natural position then we may not need a new RB! Just my opinion...

It gets worse the more you think about it. For example: Burnley are a division above us!

Ayew and Amavi will definitely stay! We'll get striker but be confident with the manager team knowing what to do! - Tony XIa Juy 22nd
If Tone says they're staying thats good enough for me! New striker coming too.
I'm happy.

Pie in the sky but could you imagine?
A quick google of his name brings up a few reports saying this!

VillaTalk is the friendliest place on the Internet. Fact.
Probably much the same as the dressing room last season.

Doesnt matter which foot they prefer, at this point Oscar Pistorius would be an upgrade on most of our defence

Get a grip fellas...

As far as strikers go I would like to see Kozak, Gabby & Sinclair (not sure if hes classed as a striker at the mo) shipped out. Then add 2 more to Ayew & Gestede. Wouldnt mind trying to tempt Andre Ayew to join his brother if possible. Good player IMO

We could replace Sinclair with an empty crisp packet and nobody would notice.
Gabby would...

Is it a buy out clause, or a release clause? One means the player can buy out their own contract for a set amount. The other we're obliged to release them if a club meets a certain bid.
It doesnt matter either way. The result is (if the rumour is true) that Villa will receive £7m (which we apparently dont need) from whoever wants to buy his contract, and we will struggle to replace him!

I agree. In the championship players like him and Veretout would be brilliant signings for us if we were looking to buy them. We will not replace for 7M in the current market
Exactly this!
A championship team will not attract better players than this. Its a buy out clause so it is what it is. The only thing we can do about it is offer him a new deal which is more attractive than any offers coming in. Its a lot easier (and probably cheaper) than trying to replace him.

Maybe not but I can see a fair few leaving as RDM has already said our squad is too big and we have yet to sell anyone.
Think he was looking at Gabby when he said that. The dressing room seemed crowded thats all,

Gollini deal done! On the OS holding his shirt...
Breaking news: Gollini signs
ShareAston Villa Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.
Gollini, 21, arrives from Hellas Verona and has penned a four-year deal.
The highly-rated Italian U21 shot-stopper has now linked up with Roberto Di Matteo’s squad as they build up their fitness levels at a training camp in Austria.
Boss Di Matteo said: “I am very pleased to have brought in Pierluigi.
“We have managed to sign him despite the fact he was being chased by a number of top sides and that is a great sign.
“He’s a young man but has plenty of experience and I’m sure he’ll prove to be an excellent signing for the Club.”

Sign the brothers of big name players like Florentin Pogba, Thorgan Hazard (bit unrealistic), Lionel Zouma, Felix Kroos, Rani Khedira, Taulant Xhaka and maybe even little Zidane junior Enzo.
Most of them are actually pretty decent players
and of course Jordan Lukaku (which also helps towards the statutory quota of Jordans we need to sign during a transfer window)

Patience my friends. Perhaps the players we want to talk to havent yet returned from the Euro's!
We will have to wait until Germany are out... ;-)

Hes a free agent though so I dont think Tony would have kept making the point that the striker was going to be the hardest deal to complete if it was him
