It's no good strengthing the rest of the team if you aren't going to sign someone to finish of the chances they create, a complete and utter waste of time.

I disagree. we had Tekkers last season but the rest of the team was shit. better off with 7 or 8 good players and the odd weak link than one good player and 10 weak links

Sinclair has scored 5 in the past 2 games. Kozak hasnt had his chance yet and the supply to Rudy has been a bit hit & miss while we have struggled with injuries to our AM's. Hopefully after the international break we will be in better shape then Lescott can score on his debut against the Baggies before we pound the noses and all this worry will be forgotten. UTV!

My point was that a couple of inches in height is not too much of a problem if the player is good at jumping! He doesnt have to hold the ball out of players reach, he just has to reach it before them!

1.25pm - TEAMtalk: Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori is considering an offer of a season-long loan move to Aston Villa after rejecting the chance to join Sunderland. Llori is yet to make a senior appearance for Liverpool since his £7million move from Sporting Lisbon two years ago.

West ham deal done for that antonio fella so they have defo used up loan spots and if that guy was correct about only one more in then their business is done. If he was lying then they would still have to buy Adebayor to sign him. All helps in our favour!

 

 

Villa have signed highly-rated goalkeeper Matija Sarkic from Anderlecht.

The 18-year-old stopper has penned a three-year deal with the claret and blues.

He has come through the youth system at the Belgian club - which oversaw the development of Vincent Kompany and Romelu Lukaku - and has been playing for their U19 team.

Internationally, Sarkic featured for Montenegro in the U17 European Championships of 2013 and has just been called up into the U21 squad for their European Championship qualifier in Moldova, which takes place this Friday.

In other news, U21 regular Riccardo Calder has joined Dundee until January 2016.

He will now link up with manager Paul Hartley at Dens Park in the Scottish Premiership.

Aston Villa have made an inquiry about signing Liverpool's Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori. Ilori, who joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in a £7m deal in September 2013, has been out on loan at Grenada CF in La Liga and and Bordeaux in France after failing to secure first-team football at Anfield. It remains to be seen whether Villa pursue a loan or permanent deal for the 22-year-old who has also been attracting interest from Sunderland - or if he wishes to stay at Liverpool and fight his way into manager Brendan Rodgers' plans.
