  1. So can Aaron Hughes - doesn't mean he's good enough.
  2. Ambitious ? Is it ambitious to go to a team and probably end up on the bench or on a seat in Stamford Bridge? He will probably break into the first eleven...and it is as true as Reading will win Premier next season. He will halt his career and soon be forgotten... Chelsea are making their team stronger...yes...but will the players like to sit most of the next season on the bench? Is that to be ambitious? Chelsea are ambitious...the players are moneyhunting ho's. How do you know that he might not be a new first choice. Why should he be going there to sit on the bench. He's moving from Reading FFS, to a club that is challenging in Europe and domestically. Ambitious yes, but who knows if it will pay off  Is Sidwell that good? Do you really think he kicks out Lampard, Ballack, Makelele, Geremi or Essien from a central position?Only if Chelsea decides to sell...Sidwell is good...but not in the same class as those players! Players develop when they play with better players. Wenger himself said that he thought that Sidwell could play at the highest level. Only time will tell, and he has a good chance as any at Chelsea. Anyway, Ballack has been shit, and so has Geremi.
  3. I agree - the one player that would make us really hard to beat. I think that MON could put him on the straight and narrow.
  4. Someone posted on here a while back about eating their own poo Nick, be careful

  6. Really, thats amazing as the transfer window is not even open then! Don't sour my post by introducing pesky facts. He will join us, you'll see. Pesky facts which stop your post from being true? Oh... Sidwell is having a medical at Chelsea today - so your point is?
  7. Really. thats amazing as the transfer window is not even open then! Inside Knowledge maybe
  8. Bent will be a Spurs player, leaving one of there main ones surplus to requirements. This could well be Defoe.
  9. Lets hope the buggers go down and we can get him. He is of the similar ilk to Carew with a good eye for goal that would give us lots of options
  10. Perhaps a 25th Anniversary scarf sent out to season ticket holders old and new?
  11. Come off it I know several Celtic fans and they are all keen to lose Balde, asap. Maybe O'Neill is mug enough to take most of your rubbish off you for a price, I'm hoping even he isn't daft enough to try for Balde. Both Petrov and Maloney have both won players of the year in Scoland, and are players that he knows well. Agathe and Sutton have been stop gaps. Word on the street means nothing, only actions. Get over it.
  12. His humility speaks volumes when he came over to the away fans and held his hand up to say sorry.
  13. General, thanks for that, and Randy seems to have done well to get the great man back down to VP. Now that the Serpentine land sale is going through, what plans do the club have for alternative match day parking once this land no longer is owned by AVFC? This is a huge carpark, very close to the ground and is used extensively for supporters club coaches as well. The loss of this site could cause further issues around the ground with unsafe parking.
  14. Just wondering do you have to have a season ticket in the holte to gain access or can any season ticket holder go in? I'm told that after the match you have to be a season ticket holder. Prior to the match, you can pay in and retain a ticket for re-entry after. I believe that it is for St'ds only, but I'm not sure.
  15. So they let you after? Amazing. There is a bar upstairs I'mled to believe that seems like its never used. All that money spent and the space is not utilised.
  16. General, I was going to post the same thing, and I bumped into Ian outside there too. This really cheeses a lot of fans off, some I know that don't post on the Internet have also said the same thing. We are told that if you are a season ticket you can gain access to the Holte Suite before and after a game. I only ever go after the game to be fair for a pnt with my mates after the match. Instead, we are told that there is a function on by the door staff. No other explanation. What gets me is that it's only open for one hour after the match. More than enough time for evening functions to take place after. I went for a pint in the Academy (Gordon Cowans suite) after and the place was empty. The kids had a knock around on the artificial pitch for a while, until they got turned off by another jobs worth.

  18. We have played probably the best team in Europe tonight on their day. It's disappointing, but we will have forget this result tomorrow, as we now have HOPE. Respect to the following tonight. They made us proud with their noise once again.
  19. That's great news too. His legacy was not just to Villa, but the football world as a whole. Perhaps the FA, can assist in fundingat the statue as a way of thanking him for the powers that be having highly paid jobs at Lancaster Gate. Seriously, I know the Trust had some preliminary work reagding the statue. Since the Takeover, I'm not sure if the people that used to be involved with are still looking for funding.
  20. Thanks for that General. There are a lot of fans from other countries that support our club. Have you any plans to canvass the secretarys of these clubs to see how the Villa Park experience improved for them also. There are also a lot of local Supporters Clubs, that I think may have been neglected a little in the past. In the early 80's, the club actively encouraged players to visit local pubs and clubs as away of bringing the club and the players closer together. I know that times have changed and football has moved on a little, but you have seen first hand now how kids feel when they meet their heroes. The Villa have lost a lot of the "Liquid" support in the Midlands over the last 20 years or so, but we should be encouraging kids in the Midlands to bind their loyalties to their local club at an early age, and not just support Teams from their armchairs. That's what happenned to me and I have been bound to the club through thick and thin since the late 70's. Perhaps the club can be a proactive and canvass these clubs for ideas on how communiction can be imporved. The club to be fair have improved over the last few years, but I'm sure that there is more that can be done from both sides. Keep up the good work.
