  1. Please advise us oh immortal one.
  2. With the information available at the time he was a bloody site better than Ellis! The information was a bit piss poor then.
  3. He took the Comers for chancers they were and that they wanted nothing more than the land. He called their bluff and they fell away into the background. Hopefully he won't balls this up now we have some "real" players. Blimey, yes well done Doug skillfully avoided those Irish chancers and single handedly bagged O'Neill to boot, what a chairman you are.... So you would have prefered Ranson then

  5. We will know more I feel at the end of the week, but the immediate need to sort the football side of things out has been sorted - we now have a bit of time to sort out the business side of things
  6. He has overstayed his welcome - but I don't care anymore, just want us to move on
  7. Agreed there are more pressing matters in hand
  8. I believe that he knows that his time is up - that's why the club is up for sale. Now, he may want a role as Bates did after the Abramovich takeover - its the beginning of the end for him. What do we need to remind him of? Whether you like it or not, Villa is a part of his life. As long as he has no actual power, I don't give a **** what they do with him as long as the brand new dawn carries on regardless.
  9. We reapplied a couple of months back didn't we? (North Stand anyway) If I remember correctly Trotsky it was you who posted this As you have to to keep it going. As Ellis has just said those he's been talking to aren't in the Abromovich class but most are big boys One of them has a complete package to reinvent the whole ground and to have the player on the pitch to fill it so it will happen, when is the question and my bet is within the next week or two, and it won't necessarily be Lerner. And twice in 2 days that I have agreed with Malcom. Lerner is in the driving seat, not necessarily the best or the biggest bidder
  10. We reapplied a couple of months back didn't we? (North Stand anyway) If I remember correctly Trotsky it was you who posted this oh yeah  a couple of san miguels me thinks !!! Wow - no there is a first - Ian admitting that he was wrong
  11. not necessarily its now assumed should Petchey say yes then there are enough potntial votes for Ellis to lose. its also been suggested his aprlour tricks with Lerner and now O'Neil may be moves to call the bluff. I doubt it mind I still feel he is up to selling at least a controlling interest, trouble is the best bet for the club possibly, doesn't want him involved rightly so If Ellis has no power base - why shouldn't we let him carry out is days. Once he has gone, then that name can come off the Witton Lane
  12. http://tinyurl.com/kz3um Interesting stuff from Graham Taylor Perhaps he is more in the know than he is letting on :winkold:
  13. FWIW, I still think that Ellis will sell, and will prefer to sell to someone that will make him a Life President. All the interseted parties may not like this, but as long as he has no actual power, then who cares. He won't be around forever. MON has been signed by Ellis and MON himself has said that himself. Obviously MON, will make the sale an easier transition, as it seems that the consortiums involved seem to favour this appointment. In the short and medium term this is a great appointment. It takes care of the immendiate need to sort out the football side of things outside of the purely business and can move us forward.
  14. I'm a big fan of JF, but he had no place at today's press conference and it was right that he was refused entry. If JF was allowed in, I should be allowed in. It won't be a popular view, but JF is more effective when he's not trying things like that. Agreed Wasn't this a press conference, didn't know that John was now part of the Press fraternity - I tried to get in when Gregory was appointed, and nearly did - until I was grilled for my pass at the last hurdle.
  15. No I didn't I just swas implying that it ain't over until the ink is dry - Lerner is in the driving seat, but this process has passengers that may not want to be dropped off just yet. Whoever takes over, lets hope that this is for the good of AVFC. That's is ALL that matters.
  16. He was asked that in the PC - is MON a liar now?
  17. You may want to call Ellis a liar, but I can catergorically say that Martin O Neil isn't. After that press conference, it seems that Ellis was driven to get his man and that was confirmed. This maybe driven partially by the consortiums, to keep the club attractive, but he wasn't made to do anything. If that eases his conscience prior to a takeover all the better. Now we have a manager that we all can get behind. Along with prospective owners that will be phase 2 of the post Ellis era. I'm glad that the news from cloud cuckoo land was so accurate.
  18. Good - he should have done it sooner. If this is a result of DOL leaving then i'll be eternally greatful to him. Even I might buy him a drink.
  19. Sorry Lee but I disagree. The only thing Ellis has done here is indicate he is leaving. I do not for one minute believe that he had anything to do with Martin Oneil joining the club, I do not believe he was involved in the final negotiations. Now I never said that he was instrumental, I also think that if there was no takeover in the offing that, but people on here have been having ago saying he will **** it up - he had the power to still **** it up. Let him have his last press conference in peace before he **** off into the wild blueyonder never to grace his ego again
  20. Is that right, then explain.. and while you are at it admit that I wasn't in clund cuckoo land
  21. Good - he should have done it sooner.
  22. This is part of the takeover - this is the takeover happening in front of your eyes strange hhow some peopel including reporters think this is Ellis's doing ??? Greetings from Cloud Cuckoo Land - what was it you said to me Ian the other week, when I said that MON would be ideal for the job :winkold: Ellis is still the Chairman and CEO - its his doing. There are other circumstances that are pushing this towards MON obviously, but Ellis has always done things for Ellis - he ain't going to change now.
  23. Yes I do, but MON is not stupid - he knows his days are running out
