  1. Another positive that has turned into pointless arguing, it is depressing.

YES things are not great this season, they have been going off the boil for a while and it's frustrating, but this is something we should be proud about, not bickering about.

**** Lerner, MON, GH, AM and the rest for now, celebrate the success of our under 19's and the fact it gives us something to smile about.

Its only turned into this because most here are failing to acknowledge that they have in fact made a mistake and nobody was actually being negative.

We have celebrated the under 19s winning! We took the debate to the next level. Wheres the problem??

You've just opened a whole new can of worms here buddy. Isn't blatant trolling a bannable offense?

    Hear hear.

  3. Also I am sure the confidence of all the lads is soaring, and I don't know if this happens but if one of them was to check this thread. What does it say when rather then reading posts about their great performance, they see posts about how they might not end up being good enough, because Villa youngsters never are.. (apparently...)

Well, if they were to come on and read a post saying they might not be good enough Id hope at the very least, it would be something they are very aware of anyway, given the brutal competitive nature of professional football.

Also, if something so trivial was to effect the confidence that much then they certainly won't end up being good enough.

If I'd had just won a massive tournament and straight after people said to me 'yeah yeah well done but it doesn't mean anything. You might not make it', it would crush me now. Never if I was 16/17/18

    Nonsense argument

  4. Not just very good in a very good side, he's the first name on the team shirt for them.

    If anything he's completely underrated.

And regards to this ; anonymous' nonsense, it's not his job to get noticed. If you don't 'get' Michael Carrick, I wouldn't expect you to 'get' Ashley Westwood.

I totally get Michael Carrick. Very good at Club level. Not so good at International. Ashley Westwood bares no resemblance of Michael Carrick as it stands from what I can see. Other than him saying he is his hero, I see no real reason to compare the two.

And this statement here leads me to believe you know absolutely nothing about football.

  6. Having watched the Next Gen he seems like a really good prospect.

But, and I don't want to be harsh, he comes across as a total word removed.

    (quoting you again)

When I used to got house parties n shit when I was 16/17, I knew his girlfriend and even at 15 he was buying shitloads of materialistic stuff. Definitely a bit of a cocky arse, but I don't care if he's good ;)

  7. Crikey, I just thought to myself "I haven't gone to the Next Gen thread yet to congratulate the nippers on their excellent win".

So I came here. I have read the last three pages or so in some confusion and now I am going to slip away again very quietly. Quite what is going on here I don't know but I think it would be a good idea to have a thread where we could congratulate the nippers on their excellent win.

    Very much this.

Came in to drop a quick well done, a few promising youngsters in the team.

And I find people pissing all over everyone's chips.

    Well done VT.

This. Where were you guys last night when I was dealing with it by myself!? Ha.

  8. But why bring that up AS SOON AS the game is over? Why not just be happy for once this season?

I looked back at the posts and the first post BG makes is 'fair play, BUT blah blah they probably won't make it'. Why say shit like that straight away!? This is why it's being perceived as negative. Anyway, we could go on all day and as it seems as if it's only us 3 (and con but he doesn't count ;) ) online so we're just going to go in circles.

  9. No I'm not going to disagree. I post plenty of negative things. Usually backed up with actual facts and evidence.

Your skill is that you've somehow used this to analyse a person you know nothing about on how they view life. It's incredible.

What 'evidence' do you have for your unnecessarily negative views in this thread?

And somebody took an obvious bit of banter to heart.

  10. Tell you what Stefan, lets have a thread where we all have the same opinion. Sounds absolutely amazing mate.

Hahahah this isn't what I'm saying what so ever. It's just infuriating to see ANOTHER thread derailed with negative shit when all we only had something to be happy about. What on Earth is there to be negative about in this situation!? So why the hell bring it up? WHO CARES if none of them make it? WHO CARES about the youth cup 10 years ago. We are HAPPY, NOW that our lads who have the name ASTON VILLA (the team you apparently support) have won a  major honour. Yet we have the same negative drivel being spouted, when there is absolutely naff all to be negative about.

  11. just be happy for the lads

    Who isn't happy for them?

    >The way you post stinks of somebody not happy with how life is going

    Haha

That's quite a skill you have. Being able to analyse how a person views life by the opinions they post on an Internet football fans forum.

Everything you bloody post is so negative. Plenty agree with me so it's not that much of a 'skill'.

  12. Both sides of this (completely derailed) thread are as bad as each other.

One side can't accept that fans just want to be happy that we won something. Regardless of what level it is, something with the 'Aston Villa' name won a big tournament and in addition to that, it looks like we have a couple of real players coming through the academy.

This tweet from Lewis Kinsella sums it up for me.

Thank you everyone for your support it means alot to all of us Just happy we've done the club proud ! And to be know as champions of europe

Now with Con, I can see what he's saying, but he's being over the top for the sake of it.

Both sides, bloody cut it out. It's proper taking the shine off what was a great achievement for the lads.

  13. but nobody has said we are going to have a bunch of superstars or saying they are going to dominate our 1st team.

Everybody is just happy we won the trophy. What happens in their career is the future nobody can predict that. Its moaning for the sake of it and trust me their is a lot of things to moan at instead of this

This. For gods sake, stop being so bleeding negative and just be happy for the lads. That's all everybody else is doing!

Great result for the lads. More fuel to the fire that our future is in great shape

This could have been said after the FA youth cup win. It didn't really lead to anything but selling players who turned out to be not good enough.

Hopefully this lot will be different.

How do you face every day with such a depressing existence?

Do you approach everyday life the same way you see your football team?

    That's a bit strange.

No. Not even close. The way you post stinks of somebody not happy with how life is going. I have my glass half full with regards to life and my posts on this particular subject (Villa) reflect that.

  15. We had a decent go but their class won out. I wouldn't knock the effort of the team though.

Starting Bannan was a mistake, should have started Delph. Weimann going off hurt us (although he was injured? It was hard to tell). The El Ahmadi for Sylla sub was shocking.

I was at the game and I have to admit that after the great atmosphere against QPR (which I was also at) a lot of fans pissed me off today. I don't know if it was because there were a lot of family members tagging along with it being Easter Sunday but the amount of fans wandering off throughout the match annoyed me. It's obviously worst at 40 mins and 85 mins (which I don't understand anyway, the most critical moments of each half and people are happy to miss it to either buy some manky chips or so they can get home 30 minutes earlier) but it was all through the game today. Sit down and watch the game FFS.

glad you said it, missed their first goal, with fans coming back late....they are a pissing nuisance.

Piss off. I left as the HT whistle went and went to get a drink. I was still queueing when their 1st goal went in.

  16. This penalty conceded doesn't make Baker a bad CB. It happens to all of them.

That said, we missed Clark today.

Disagree. Clark doesn't make half the interceptions and tackles Baker does.

Real shame for him as he had a great game apart from that which completely taints it.

  17. On another note, Steven Gerrard is a cock. What sort of example is it for kids when the England captain is arguing with the red over a correct decision!?

And the atmosphere was flat from the start. A woman (who'd obviously bought a ticket just for this game) had a go at me for standing up on the holte end. Fair weather **** fans.
