  1. but he hasn't the 2nd highest tackling success. surely if he has no positioning or awareness he would never be in a position to make them tackles.

Not really, it doesn't state how many tackles he has made, just the success rate of those he did.

  2.

I've always said that if Kyle Walker can become a decent right-back just relying purely on pace, then so can Bacuna. He was pretty solid there for much of the season up until the horrendous run after the Chelsea game.

Kyle Walker is a way more rounded footballer than Bacuna.

Walker has his deficiencies as a defender but to compare him to Bacuna is laughable.

Second highest tackle success in the prem league, beating both baines and Gerrard. Hand your notice in rodders your scouting days are over.

Just bumping this for you rodders, your hawkeye scouting eyes seem to have missed it on the other page. Surely such a poor defender shouldn't have this stat next to them?

Good stat to have but misleading, most the time he is not even in a position to get a tackle in at RB. He has no sense of positional play or awareness what so ever to play that role.

  3. All the squad needs to do is stop giving up once they go a goal up. Maybe when you're two up you can sit back for a bit but when it's only one it's inevitable that the other team is going to score.

    This...but also :

    2 fullbacks that can defend.

    1 CB who can defend.

2 Midfielders who can tackle, get about the pitch and have composure on the ball.

1 Midfielder who can create, pass over 5 yards and bag a goal.

Two wingers/forwards who can score and create a goal.

    We only need 8 players.

  4. Must be nice to get a nice fat 2 year contract when you don't have to go into work very often.

Do you have any idea the kind of mental and physical effort a sportsman has to go through to come back from injuries, yet alone cruciates?

Must be nice to sit on your fat arse and have no idea.

  6. Not even close to making it to the cup huh? They already are missing van der wiel, janmaat and verhaegh. Surely Bacuna deserves a shout? I bet the one that will take his place will not be much better and in fact has not scored more goals. Also, bacuna has played a season in PL, something that doesn't really need to be argued about being a much higher level than eredivisie.

No, I don't think he is good enough for netherlands national team but right now I don't see why he couldn't be there

I am going to guess that he won't get called up because he is a poor footballer playing in an awful team, he doesn't have a position nailed down, his touch, passing and ability in the centre of midfield are atrocious, his defensive capabilities, his awareness and his intelligence playing at right back are laughable. I wouldn't trust him in any system.

There are dozens of Bacuna's playing in the Eredivisie. Ten a penny athletic footballers with no football brain.

He is awful and a few goals doesn't not change that.

  7. can't fault him.

I can, I can fault his touch, his fitness, his mobility, his work rate, his goalscoring record, his touches to minutes ratio, his hold up play.Just to name a few.

He was the best we could get though in the short term so I don't know the fuss. Come and gone, move on.

  8.

Weak against city and Tottenham - not good enough

Not good enough for top 6, but good enough for lower mid-table, I would say.

    In the Championship?

Proven time and time again he is not a PL player.

He proved he is a Premier League player most of last season. Players will have a bad year, it happens.

A virtual ever present in a team that conceded 69 goals?

    He didn't like.

  9.

nearly as bad as criticism Aaron Lennon got for having a cigar when England lost to germany

The difference being someone snapped Aaron and the photo was leaked to a newspaper iirc.

He didn't post it up laughing , showing full well he doesn't give a shite about results or performances. Here is to another relagation battle next year Andi with that attitude.

I'm not sure whether I should react to someone who has just 77 posts to his/her name... however, surely the result that counts this season is safety from relegation? For this team, that is success. If you expect anything else you are being unrealistic and you are directing your emotion in the wrong direction.

    Long time lurker.

Don't think I don't know about your Scottish Xavi heat maps.

EDIT : BTW Palace really dropped down the leagues when Pulis dropped Bannan ay it.

  11. Sell him, and use his wages towards a player who does it more than 5 times a season.

Anything more than £5m would be a bonus.

The loyalty thing always grates me,no other club in the league would have paid him the wages he has got here. That isn't loyalty, it is the comfort zone and he has shown zero attempts to improve as a player the last 5 years.

  13.

Group of lads aged 20-27 drinking on a coach. Hardly a shocking image.

Finished a long season, may not have a been an adequate season but I dont think we can begrudge them having a drink.

Nah just posting a picture of them laughing and joking after people have paid good money to watch them roll over again.

Again - what do you expect them to be like?

Show a bit of humility, and not post this shit up after that performance.

  15. Lmao... the guy's having a beer with his mates. I fail to see the problem? Every footballer in the league that isn't tea total will be doing the exact same thing.

I still think we have the worst fans in the league for this sort of bollocks.

Fair enough but why post it on the internet after another totally shocking performance.

He is taking the piss big time.

  16.

Absolutly inept performance again, shame we never got to see the ear cupped celebration again proving us all wrong.

Big time contract, big time attitude, big time pisshead, big time lard arse.

    Get rid.

Are you actually saying he's an alcoholic? Because he's been pictured drinking a beer? And I suppose you've never drunk a beer in your life?

It's not just this picture though. It's clear he likes a drink, it's clear for all to see how his performances have dipped from last season, clear to see how his attitude has changed, clear to see how gobby he has become, clear to see the weight he's put on, clear to see he is blowing out of his arse after a few runs. Clear to see he is often amongst the least touches per game.

This myth that he works hard is nonsense too.

  18. Yes Bacuna has the extra pace Lowton puts in a better ball and reads the game better...

Lowton doesn't read the game at all. That's his problem.

The amount of times I have seen him flummoxed by a simple one two is ridiculous, gets drawn into the centre way too much when defending, allows players to run goal side. He has no awareness and no idea what is going on around him.

I expected this coming from league one, but he really hasn't pushed on as I hoped.

He is useful with the ball though, and can put it a great delivery so that's something.

  19.

I think he's a good player, would take him, I remember his debut for man city was at villa park, he was outstanding, best player on the pitch

Maybe we should get Luke Moore back then too.

    No thanks on Nedum!!

What's Ethan up to these days I wonder?

Playing part time and sitting in a taxi office, outstanding on his debut though so sign him up.

  21. Was a decent prospect 7 years ago but not now.

On about £50k and hasn't pushed on at all. Clueless at CB, pace gets him out of trouble at RB.

I wouldn't want him anywhere near our squad.

  22. You do realise the difference between elite PL football and a pre season game played at a nothing tempo against a league one side?

He was bought for the future, he will get his chance. He probably would have by now if not for injuries. Relax
