Football Insider saying they're after Dendoncker if they stay up, so they're **** either way.

If they stay up, Dendoncker could be a decent signing for them. He’s lower mid table PL level. As long as they don give him extraordinary wages.

100% on Dougie that. Twice now hes gave away stupid free kicks on the edge. Liability at times.

That’s on Zaniolo. If he stays in the wall, it’s just a bad free kick.

dougie shouldn’t give away a free kick though.

reading the last two pages it’s confusing!!!!

can anyone tell me if we’ve a game in hand or Spurs have a game in hand or if we’ve played the same amount of matches?

Irrelevant as neither have Januzaj on loan

That was naive. Why would people think that? By losing he can always run again at every election until he dies.

What Trump did and what Brexit did was tap into the real anger of the people who have felt the brunt of the real decline in wages since 2008.

In America both Republicans and Democrats were for big business, for companies maximising profits by outsourcing work to cheaper countries and importing cheap labour too.

Once that was tapped into the voter base is there for everyone to see and the approach to tap into and exploit it politically

    I agree.

What has changed in your opinion? In your previous post, you thought there would be less divisiveness in 2028. Why would it decrease in the next presidential cycle? Especially if trump loses again? Trump wil run again (unless he dies from too many diet cokes), but whoever will be the democrat candidate might not unify their party as much as Biden does right now.

I do feel this is a cycle, in 2028 people will be tired of the division, tired of populism. The candidates will have new issues to focus on. You can see the beginnings of the end for the culture wars already. I feel this election in US will focus on actual wars (foreign policy) and immigration. Trump will also win lots of votes from the line the deep state is trying to take him down via the courts, this is 100% a political friend to him outside of courts.

Areas where Trump and Biden are politically close on is Trade (especially with China).

That seems very optimistic. Many thought that after his loss in 2020, Trumpism would decline. But here we are 4 years (and an insurrection) later and he’s running again.

it will take a lot more time, I fear. If Trump loses again in 2024, he might run again in 2028. If not him, DeSantis or others might try and run on the same divisiveness. It is the main model of gaining votes within the GOP these days.

It seems the democrats are actually pondering if they should run someone else now.

At this point, anyone with even a slight cognitive skill could slaughter Trump and Biden in a debate, they're both so far off it that it's crazy.

Hoping for Haley in New Hampshire, and that someone with in the dems actually starts their campaign there.

Interesting hypothesis: what if Haley wins? I think she could beat Biden as moderate republicans can accept her and far left dems would be less motivated to vote because the alternative is not Trump. Extreme republicans would vote for her to own the libs. (Unless Trump tells them not to)

it would also be curious to see the future of the GOP, as president Haley would become the leader of the party. Would she be able to bring back some common sense? I know she is more establishment, but would she be able to bring the maga crowd back to reality.

But you're dealing with a guy who MAY make a wrong call to one who definitely will make the worst of calls.

I thought Trump only made ‘perfect’ calls

This is the great unspoken truth of US presidential elections, only votes in around 10-15 of the swing states count, the rest are basically irrelevant. If you live in Texas for example why bother voting, you know it will always vote republican.

I might be mistaken, but I thought Texas was attracting more companies with it’s lower taxes. Drawing higher educated people who would have gone to California. Thus also attracting a more centre/left voting audience. This will not be clear on short term though.

Florida seems deep red now, but was purple not so long ago.

I agree though, many states can already be assigned to either party before the election. But they will not necessarily be forever that color.

It’ll create a bit of noise for sure. I’m certain as things stand the Supreme Court are going to overturn both of these decisions. Both Colorado and Maine are pretty safe democrat states with very few electoral college votes…if California followed then things could take a very serious turn.

California is also pretty safe for the democrats. I don’t think Trump expects to win there, even if it holds a lot of electoral votes.

swing states, that would really be interesting to see.

  9. A lot of focus in previous posts on the European teams. That only covers half of it. A league is as strong as its bottom teams. My guess is even teams like Burnley would be able to do well in the conference league.

also, it’s not because PSG plays the semi final of the CL that the French league is top class. PSG, Bayern, they walk their respective leagues every year. In Spain, there’s 3 teams (this year is a strange one). In Italy, there a bit more rotation at the top, but never a team that could wint the CL. The PL has the Sky6 that could win the CL if they have a good season, now us and Newcastle are added to that. Chelsea and ManU are in a dip, but still decent teams who could do something in the EL or ECL. So there are more teams competing.

plus the money makes it that a bottom PL team could buy most players in Italy or Spain.

I think palace are in danger of getting sucked in. They are on a terrible run of form

IMO palace is the ultimate 14th place team. They have just enough to stay out of a relegation battle (Eze, Olise, Guehi) but never enough to achieve anything. They have been in the PL for a while now, without making much noise.

He didnt really do a decent job at Anderlecht though. Anderlecht would be the Real Madrid of Belgium and he won nothing

He only had a 45% win record

    Not true

they have been a financial mess for a while. He had to manage them on a shoestring, with the main transfers being loans. He did alright at Anderlecht.

I would describe Kompany as shit. He is on the Gerrard/Lambert level of manager.

Ex players have no right to get a good job

He did rebuild an Dyche burnley team and won the championship in style, se he is above the shit manager category. Also, when he took the job, it wasn’t considered that attractive because the rebuild necessary. This of course did have the parachute payments to make it easier.

he made it a good job to his own credit. He now has to prove he can do better by keeping them up and imo did not do the best of transfer business (no PL experience) and is not adapting his style of play so far

I have to say i feel opposite. She comes across like she wants to go to war with everyone. Im anti war if possible and vivek seemed to be only one who didnt want any further wars.

I didnt understand though why she got so offended by his comment about her daughter he was just highlighting that she criticised him about using tiktok but her daughter uses it. Its a valid point.

The nicest guy on there seemed to be tim scott but jesus did he send me to sleep every time he talked. He looks too soft to have the most powerful role in the world

De santis prob did better than the other debates but still meh.

The other guy i forgotten who he was so shows how much of a impression he made.

Its irrelevant anyway as trumps trouncing them all

I think it’s because you usually don’t go after someone’s family to score political points. No idea how old the daughter is, but if she’s a minor that would be a cheap shot.

I think most of them are only there for the exposure. DeSantis was the only one with a shot, but he has only shown his lack of charisma since his campaign started.

I don't think the mental strength of these players gets taken into account enough in these transfer strategies. If you have a team of predominantly young players with no experience of playing in the Premier League then they are going to go into a collective slump when results go against them. Not enough experienced heads in the mix to balance out the youthful potential.

Exactly, they should have gotten two or three Ashley young-type of player instead of another high potential from Belgium.

Is that why we are still waiting for second half or they just had a very long injury time at first half? ( sorry just joined to watch on viaplay xtra)

    The game is suspended apparently

  16. Looking at their squad, they have some players who would easily be picked up by other PL teams. Onana, Danjuma, Pickford, McNeil would find other clubs if they go down. Add the experience of Young, Gana, Tarkowski and they should be doing better.

Luton, Sheffield, Bournemouth don’t have those kind of players.

  17. SMW was the first game I owned, as it came with the SNES we got at home. I spent hour on that, first just to get through the entire world, next the star road after which all koopas looked like Marios (or something like that). That was such an epic game.

I had played SMB and SMB3 at my friends’house before this. So we later also got the SM All Stars on SNES. 1 and 3 in the SMB were still awesome, but the freedom of SMW, where you choose to go back through the entire world was better. SMB 2 was a bit different, not as good, but still cool as it was a change from the ‘regular’ Mario games.

i don’t want to know how many hours of my childhood were spent on these, but I sure my dad could still moan about it.

There may be more variation in recent league winners, but the last time La Liga's top 3 teams weren't Real/Barca/At Madrid (in any order) was 2011/12 (Valencia, 3rd).

I reckon it'd be pretty close in European semis to be honest.  Real/Barca/At Madrid for CL but then Sevilla/Villarreal/Valencia for Europa.  I'd guess you're looking at Man City/Liverpool/Spurs/Chelsea for English CL and then also Arsenal and Man Utd in Europa.

But as you say, it's more outside the elite.  The Premier League just has a ridiculous amount of money.

Correct, I was thinking about CL only, while the Spanish do very well in the EL as well.
