If we sign Amavi then it is a case of who can't we sign, we'd have some serious momentum and a 'project' that others could buy into.

Maybe Lerner is just a huge racist.

If Saints were in for him then surely we've either paid more than them, or offered the player better wages. Cannot remember us being in this position since MON..
-
Even if it is what was left in the pot then it is being spent on the first day of the transfer window.
-
I wonder if the Swindon 2 had a choice of QPR or us? Or did QPR bid more than we did, offer more wages and mention that they are a club in London? Those two otherwise seem to lack ambition and the confidence to back their ability to force their way into the first team squad of this season's FA Cup winners.
I wonder if Sherwood has struck a deal with qpr and his friend Chris Ramsey by pulling out of the luongo/gladwin race so we can have a punt at Austin?
It seems odd that Ts has personally scouted luongo only a few weeks back and it was looking all set to go but then qpr steal a march on us.
Good thought that. Certainly would explain what's happened. Austin in upfront next to Kozak then the rest of the benteke money to spend elsewhere could be very acceptable.

I think all that Sherwood is doing is giving the player full respect and all the power to make his own decision while also seeding some serious doubt in that player's mind. It's probably the most he can do to keep him, and as for the release clause, well the fact it exists says as Sherwood says, the club have no power to keep him. Hope it's set at £40 mill.

Can we loan Cleverley AND Januzaj at the SAME time?

Not claiming to be ITK but my mate works close to VP and has seen a group of chinese businessmen going in twice this week, the same group
That's a bit racialist saying all chinese businessmen look the same. Were they accompanied by a queer lookin' one, and his dog wearing x2 apple watches? Please say yes.

So, straight form the horses mouth - we know there are two serious parties looking at us. Sadly they are probably also looking at West Brom. I wonder why they even have to do that? Aren't we just automatically better in every way? Very welcome statement from Randy, good on him. Like WBA he is flushing out serious bidders with his statement about restructuring the board - we should see some movement now one way or the other.
I must have missed this?! I've just quickly read over the article again and can not see what you are referring too in terms of two serious parties?!
There seems to be three sources of info - one published article by the times with the most detail, an online article by The Times with less detail and then 2 tweets from the journo behind both articles, from the times. All of this info is based on an interview with our beloved owner so as sources of information go I think we now know a great deal more than we did yesterday. I actually think Randy has been honest in his previous statements and is doing so again now.

Tim kept us up, and got us scoring goals. But the last two games have reminded me of lambert when he played attacking football (allegedly). Win the cup and all will be forgotten.
-
5 premier league wins with a team not his own. BUT - he's never had a transfer window, he's a rookie. He kept us up, he gave us the confidence, but he is unproven. Today and saints makes me feel less bad should bielsa be bought in by chinese gazziliojnaires.
Is his future going to be a bit like Gils?
-
Impossible to say right now - need to do this after the final.
BUT
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezussss I am glad we are in the prem. One more game and we would have been down. This CANNOT happen again.
-
To add, I think Sherwood was right to go for it today to give us a springboard for the final, that's what a confident manager would do. But to be fair, the players who gave everything to keep us up just needed a rest, and I think they gave themselves that rest today.

Pants - but just goes to show how hard it is to motivate a team who have nothing to play for. We played our best football this season when it looked like we could be relegated, and then today was just rubbish. Not sure if this has a bearing over FA cup final, I think we will see a different team in that match. Arsenal favourites though, if they weren't already.
-
Nah, we're just playing 2 at the back, like in championship manager 1993, we'll win 11-0 - Tim knows the cheat buttons.

He is pretty much a 1 in 2 striker, read somewhere on twitter if he scores today that's 50 in 100 appearances for villa - he's ripe for a champions league club that needs a striker, to come in for him, a team that will play to his strengths - that team I think is Man U. Hopefully though he'll be offered the wages to stay another 2 years at least.
-
"All I want to do is win, though. (When I was a player) I wanted to kill people to win." The Sherminator - "I'll be back slags".
-
Was Ian Taylor hinting at something here?:
"The process has begun. @Scotty_Sinclair signs a four year deal. #AVFC"
-
Lovely early purchase, hopefully spells continuity...
-
I imagine any legal action Man Citeh have put to Uefa they could put to the premier league too if contesting the same points - so it's a matter of time until they are in line with Uefa's guidelines - plus why on earth would the prem allow other leagues an advantage, it would damage their own product.
-
My interpretation of the sherwood bet was just plain old disinformation, just like Fox did in his interview - there looks to be a clear strategy to say black is white until the season is finished - which you would think seems an obvious thing to do while we still have something to win. That or they speaka de truth.

What a terrific chance we have to push on next year with new owners. Timing is ideal, a team with a solid spine needing some quality additions, a manager not afraid to implement attacking football, sponsorship deals needing renewing, a fan base with recently renewed optimism (ahem saints result aside). We've got ourselves into position for this, the pyschology across the entire club and fanbase is right, more so than this time last summer.

This will be an incredible thread to watch this summer should our moneybags new owners materialise.

If Tim pulls the young Belgian off he'll probably sign.
