Can't Believe we are allowing portsmouth to get Muntari...i'm dissappointed!!!
Surprised that you have left a darkened room after the badge fiasco!
Saw your negative post wanting NO'N out the other day! Regret it? You did expect stick after all
-
I agree that the "on fire" chant is crap - absolutely awful. the Vindaloo one is miles better . I love the Gareth Barry one too.
How dare you!
CAREW!
CAREW!
CAREW IS ON FIRE!
While you sing it try giving the whole right hand up in the air, put yours hands up for Detroit style.
-
Have you won the European Cup? Envious blue nosed bastards!
-
There was no chance of a points reduction because of the precedent that was set when Spurs didn't get a points deduction because the club had changed ownership as has happened at Waste Ham.
The only solution may be a 21 team league next year, what do you reckon General?
-
We won't play with an anchor like Makelele.
We don't have the players in front of him to it beneficial. And I think picking Makelele almost forces the hand in terms of 4 - 5 - 1, which I don't want to see us play.
What like Carew, Petrov, Young, Gabby, Maloney?
Makelele would set Petrov free to roam.

I've heard Distin mentioned as a CB quite a bit but Ben Haim from Bolton is apparently available this summer as well.
The guy on Villa World commentating with dear Jack was waxing lyrical about him today and although I make a habit of NOT watching Bolton, so I can't say much but he is by all accounts extremely good and he's only 25
Not sure that Ben Haim would come here as he had a trial and got turned down by us just over 2 years ago.
-
Jagielka would be a good signing imo.
I'd like to see us sign Defoe, Young/Jagielka, Barton, Reo-Cocker, Carson and a few surprises.
Whoever signs Barton wants locking up! He is a complete pain in the arse and not Steven Gerrard who he clearly thinks he is.

Geneeral Krulak here:
2. I have asked Richard Fitzgerald to compile a DVD of the '82 Celebration...he is going to make it happen.
Thanks General, it should sell by the truck load.
-
Great, we will take Sheva off their hands. Hounded by the media like Crespo in my opinion, it always takes time to settle and he couldn't do anything about the fee.
-
Defoe, I'm indifferent to. His scoring rate is probably 1 in 3, certainly not bad, but not the 20 goals a season "fast striker" that we would need.
This season, for minutes played, he's scored a goal every 1.78 matches.............
Him and Carew would be a lethal combination! Talk about explosive.
-
General, although we have loved Mr Saunders coming back and then the 82 team coming back to VP, we haven't really got a good view of it,
1. Because we were at the game
2. Because the BBC hate us
3. Because it is not on You tube.
Can you please ensure that these are on the end of season video (dvd) in full? We may actually sell a few copies then!

It was great to meet you last Friday General, (picture page 214, glad no one has said that we are ugly buggers!), my friend Jon got his chance on Sunday. I asked you for a photo and you said sure and put your hands around Jonny's neck! Oh how we would have laughed if we thought that you couldn't kill him! I expect to hear Krulaks moaning on the radio in Brummie accents in 10 years time because we have only bought 2 world class players in the summer! Hope your dad is doing well, get him on the pitch at the start of next season with Sir Ron or Dennis and he will feel the power! 94 not out!
-
Paul McShane? Do me a favour! We will be after better players than the tesco bags defender, hardly been successful at the back this season have they?
-
Next season we might as well have a worse count of goals in the back of our net, but we are also going to defend better. Defending is much more than just goals let in, it's about how we attack, how many we score and how much we dare going forward.
I won't use Tottenham as an example, their defense has been utterly poor this season, but they score goals and are going to qualify for Europe. With a better defense they would have challenged Arsenal for the 4th spot.
Is this code for saying that next season we need a better goal difference or like an attempt by Johan Cruyff to seem like George Bernard Shaw or Confucius by saying something like 'attack is the best form of defence'.
-
Yes they do take full advantage of Karren Brady's (ahem) excellent working relationships with other chief executives.
-
Any chance of sneaking some of us in to the meal as members of staff General?
Had a fantastic weekend that will live long in the memory for fans and the boys of '82. I asked Sir Dennis when we were chatting on Friday night what it was like to finally get the recognition that the boys deserved, he was emotional and said it was great. The boys were all lapping up the praise and more than anything it was nice to see Jimy Rimmer back at Villa after Sir Dennis et al had been trying for years as well as Ron Saunders and Rose Barton on the pitch. You should all be very proud!
Might be an idea to start next season with a bang and have the FA Cup winners on the pitch, 50 years after winning the Busby babes, the fans would certainly go crazy again.
The dogshit are having their parade today for being 1st loser, long may they continue to be the poor relation in this city!

With both head and heart I think they will be going straight back down unless they do some seriously good business in the summer.
Spot on. Especially as Bendtner will be back at Arsenal and apparently they cant afford Cole's wages. They must have one of the worst defences around. Just a bit worried they might fluke the season!
I don't understand the Cole thing. Didn't they say if they were promoted they would spend big?
They did say they would buy 4 or 5 big names, does anyone know any bigger names that Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink?
Karren Brady was talking about how there would be alot of money in football so they will spend big because of the new TV deal, she forgots that all of their competitors for players this summer are also getting this money so prices are just going to get inflated as we have already seen with Young and Upson in January. Wages are gonna go mad too as Neill and Upson showed with their contracts.
Either way the shit will struggle. HURRAH!

I caught a bit of this match via stream earlier (suppose we are not allowed to talk about this right...?) and despite my poor knowledge of the French language, O'Neill's name was mentioned 2 or 3 times, alongside OM midfielder Nasri. I'm pretty sure he was the slight #22 in midfield for Marseille, good little player on the day, not seen much of him to comment on him on the whole mind. OM won 2-1 btw.
He does look a special player to me. Sign him up

It could have been so much better but I have said that I like it in a way that parents with hideously ugly kids still love them. My love affair with Aston Villa will not stop because we have missed a trick with our new crest.
-
Even when Charlton were good? Young is a solid player IMO. There because no one else to choose from? Like Barry on the left wing?

General Krulak here:
1. Absolutely cameras are allowed!! Should be some great opportunites. If you see me, let's get one together.
2. The Browns draft should say tell you all a great deal about Randy. The move to get Brady Quinn was a gutsy one...but could pay off in spades. Randy is a gamer.
Indeed, I have seen that we have given away our 1st pick for 2008 but we need a good team now for building a significantly better team in the future. Some expert on NFL.com say that we were the best drafters along with Carolina, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. Hopefully the football experts will be saying the same about Villa this summer!
My ticket is for 2-3pm, I will come and say hello if I see you there General, or infact if I see you on Friday night. Will Sir Randy be attending on Friday night?

**** Bellamy, give us Robbie Keane - younger and better, 8 goals in the last 5 games, a natural leader and superbly behaved off the pitch.
The fact that Keane has scored 14 in his last 12 doesn't bode well for us getting a good deal on him, the frozen out Defoe on the other hand could be a bargain who may well be available for the right price.
