I'm not in favour of an immediate sacking, but didn't Benitez join Newcastle on a temporary contract until the end of a season.

I'd take Lambert of Garde back in a heartbeat over Sherwood - as it is, I think we need to stick with what we've got, at least until the end of the season - then we should have a look at it.

Sherwood knows as much about managing football teams as he does about the history of French poetry. He's a hapless chancer with friends in the media and the ability to look like he's got pashun.

Kodjia hasn't made a good decision all night.

One of our problems is that when you arrive in every game at the hour mark a goal down or worse - the last half hour is just a bunch of shell shocked players without a clue looking like rabbits in headlights. Which means by the time we get to the end of games it looks even worse than it is. If we're ever going to win a game again, we need to do it in the first half.

The problem with Kodjia isn't just that he doesn't pass - it's that he's no good at passing the ball when he does. The key to getting most out of him is not letting him pick the ball up from deep. When we play Hogan and Kodjia together, Hogan allows Kodjia to get into parts of the pitch where he does stupid things.

Newcastle have now scored more than twice as many goals this season as we have.

There's now only one team in the division that have scored less goals than us.

They've had two half shots and one off target and they're two nil up. It's impossible for us to win a game of football - it just isn't possible - the game against Barnsley we completely dominated and lost 3-1. It makes no sense. None of it. Hasn't done for a while.

When Kodjia gets in those positions the midfield need to pull back - there's no chance he's passing it.

We were better than this against Barnsley - the first of that game we were excellent. The last three games we've shown signs that we're a better football team. The results have stayed crap. That's the worry.

I'm not disagreeing - I think Adomah on for Bjarnason and Kodjia pushed forward in a proper 4-3-3 would give us something going forward - it just depends on what it does to our solidity. I'm a bit worried about Jedinak and Lansbury not making 90 minutes.

Also, the not existing should keep him off the team sheet.

I think our best hope in this one might lie with the referee. Getting about Shelvey and under the skin of Mitrovic could help even things up a bit.

It's odd - I was thinking the opposite through the first half hour - that we needed another proper midfielder and Kodjia wasn't that. Now we're behind, I think there's potential for a change of shape.
