The story of the boy who cried wolf springs to mind.
But you also talk a lot of rubbish. He had KWP on toast a few times, tracked back and won the ball a lot with Taylor down the left - so much so we nullified their attack down our left.
-
Baring in mind guys - Ref gave us ****-all most of the game. Only Grealish was winning free kicks. AEG was fouled legitimately a number of times and nothing was given to him.

Sorry mate - but all of that is a bunch of bollocks.

I know this has Bin Dunn's in another thread but I cannot wait for the MOTD analysis of Super John.
Gary Lineker: A great result away at Old Trafford for Aston Villa, and they owe a huge amount to the performance of one man, don't they Alan?
Alan Shearer: Yes, they do. John McGinn. He was absolutely everywhere for Aston Villa. In his own box winning tackles, he didn't give Paul Pogba one moments rest in the middle and he pops up with the winner in the final third. A fine performance.
Jermaine Jenas: I have to say I watched him last season in the championship and he was excellent. The Villa fans were singing his name from the first minute and you can see why, he gives absolutely everything for the cause.
Gary Lineker: Yes, a fine performance, talk us throughout the goal Alan.
Alan Shearer: It all starts off with Mings, who nutmegs Marcus Rashford, and then plays the ball into midfield for Jack Grealish, who jinks one way and there the other. He just has a little look before he plays the ball through the defence. It's a fantastic ball, and who's on the end of it? John McGinn. He powers passed Axel Tuenzebe, who the Villa fans love by the way, and then NUTS! How do you like that then? Thank you very much. The Villa fans like that one. He puts it through DeGea's legs.
Gary Lineker: The celebration wasn't bad either was it?
Alan Shearer: You wouldn't have caught me doing that, not in our day Gary.
Jermaine Jenas: Meeeeeooooooooooooooowwww
Gary Lineker: Quite. The next two teams are meeting today for the 37th time at Anfield, your commentator? Joey Barton...
This is so on point, that I read it in their accents as well.

Hopefully he won't be the only one performing well this season, otherwise may need a Cairopractor for carrying this team on his back.
-
Thought he did well. A few sloppy passes every now and then, but this is pre-season. Of course he's going to be a bit off the pace.
Still class though.

Surely you should just not take notice of only negative things that fans of a selling club say? There were definitely Genk and Bournemouth fans that talked about Beneteke and Mings positively.
I can't remember that far back for Milner, but I'm sure there would have been Newcastle fans that hoped to hang onto him.
I like to read fan comments, because with a pinch of salt, you probably get a vague idea of what you're likely to see, depending on how good or bad a game the new player has.
Excellent point.

That was Galahad's fight. Should have won.
Warrington got away with that one tonight.

Lol I think some of you guys in here are overestimating how good the bottom half of the Prem actually is.
Watched some right shite games in the Prem this season. The fact we have Grealish, McGinn and El-Ghazi along with another class winger we're about to sign in our midfield, with Guilbert, Mings et al behind them means we'll definitely be better then about 6 teams already in the bottom half.
We're going to be class. Don't worry about it too much. IMO, we'll finish anywhere from 8th-14th. We'll have some great results and some poor ones, but we're going to enjoy with Dean Smith in charge and with our new set up.

Deserved. Needs to blow off steam just like all of us do.
Consider the fact the he was the major catalyst for our resurgence, 10 wins in a row, getting us through the Play Off Semi Finals and into the play off final.
He also lost his Nan a few weeks ago.

King Kodj is the best plan B any team at this level can have. We're very lucky.
I'd keep him on the bench, bring him on midway through the second half if we need a spark

Michael Brown was as dirty a player as you could get in the modern era. Absolute shit word removed, why would anyone want to know what he thinks? It was the most blatant penalty you'll ever see.
He was talking about Holgate, he said that was a dive, not Jack's!

Wow the boggies really are desperate. Trying to get grealish banned for a dive when there is clear contact and a pen.
LOOOOOOOOOL. Clear penalty.
They should be penalised if unsuccessful for wasting FA/EFL's time

I'm not sure I agree with that to be honest lads. Grealish and others play that pass to him all the time. Instead of trying to play it first time to Tuanzebe he should've cut in towards his left and moved it on as usual.
But, oh well it's happened. Glad it didn't affect him too much - for the next couple of minutes he avoided getting the ball (understandably so) but came back into it.
-
He's the first one to back one of our players if it gets heated. Love him!

I am, but that doesn't mean i won't point out if Smith make mistakes.
And it has nothing to do with hindsight, Their manager made it very clear at the press conference how they were gonna approach the game, leaving out Hourihane was a mistake and i think Smith realise that and will learn from it.
It wasn't a mistake. You need a great Plan B. If you go chucking all your eggs in one basket then you're effectively getting ready to fail.
Playing Whelan and Adomah when the game was going to be tight, then replacing them in two faster players in Hourihane and Green to run at WBA's tired legs makes complete sense. If we had done what you're talking about, we wouldn't have come away with a result.

Personally I was dissapointed with him today - however like most wingers he has he ability to win the game on his own come Tuesday
Erm......disappointed?
He beat his marker time and time again today, put about 4 dangerous crosses into their box in the first half alone, hardly ever lost the ball on the wing despite having two men on him at all times......I'm not sure what more he could've done

Appeared to tweak his hamstring towards the end, will have to be careful with him for Tuesday, dont want him out a potential final.
Think it was cramp.

Wtf? You guys are crazy. Start Hause at left back?
Taylor was very good defensively. Fair enough he lost the ball a few times in their half but apart from that he had a decent game. Did we see a peep out of Phillips and Murphy when they came on? No. Exactly.
