    Accountability = ridiculous notion.

Sounds about right for this day and age to be fair. I would never knowingly share something to be consumed by the public on a platform managed by myself without backing whatever content that might be.

But then I guess I’m in a minority.

It's an account on twitter to act like a Villa news 'feed' - not a news source. They even let you know where the link has come from, for e.g, Villa linked to John McGinn (Daily Mirror).

It's not their fault you seemingly are taking it the wrong way.

So it's fair to assume then that they spout a lot of nonsense no?

It's not enough to just say 'we just repost what others say' as though it absolves any level of responsibility or ownership, if you post something - original or otherwise - you should stand by it.

    Ridiculous notion.

It's an account that reports on everything relating to Villa, transfer speculation, rumours, news, team line ups, etc. They're never ever claimed to be ITK or otherwise.

Chances are this is just a rumour, Villa Report are know for spouting a lot of nonsense especially over the Summer transfer window.

    I wouldn't worry yet.

You know how Villa Report works right? No news comes from them - they only report what every media outlet they see reporting on Villa.

Turned around and saw it was coming at him. He was unprepared and just tried to hit it not directly at the keeper. He managed that but got a tad unlucky.

    Absolutely spot on.

You were the one that highlighted it. You're just arguing semantics at this point, but yeah we'll see what happens. I suspect Wesley will come good and make this argument moot anyway.

Some of you need to cut the kid some slack.

I'm not sure what people expected of him - he's still learning. We paid for potential - not the finished article. Strikers blow hot and cold sometimes - the most important thing for him is to learn his trade quickly.

Got 2 in 7 so far, and will only get better. We'll get better as the season goes on too.

Expected him not to play like he had a spurs shirt on

It's almost as if you have personal hatred for him.

It was his first game back after how many months? What do you want him to do upfront by himself with no one around him 🤣🤣🤣🤣

He can be a class player on his day with a little bit of magic he can produce. Technically speaking, he is one of the best players at the club with the ball at his feet. That can't be argued.

Also think others are vastly overrating the defences in this league. A few weeks ago, we were one of the teams leading the clean sheet charts in the PL. Just goes to show about 60% of the defence in the PL aren't really great.

So I see you haven't disputed this - because you know it's true.

You're talking about a striker who has a better then 1 in 3 goal scoring record his whole career across all domestic and international football. If you don't rate him that's your opinion, but I'm sure people know better to not write him off.

Completely changed the game against Rotheram last season - which basically kick started our run.

Anyone who thinks Kodjia is more suited to lead the line alone, (451) in the Premier Leauge,  than Davis. I genuinly wonder if you watch the same football team as me.

I don't rate Kodjia one bit, but lets say you argued Kodjia could play wide in a front line of 2-3 or come on as a sub in any scenario and hope for a moments magic, that I could sort of understand. But saying Kodjia and leading the line in the same sentence. Hah.

Hasn't been given the chance in he PL to lead the line has he?

You don't rate him one bit yet when he did play upfront for us by himself, he created and scored match winning goals by himself albeit in the Champ.

You never know. He is a pretty unique player and they have spent big on British in the past. Imagine how good he could be after a year of coaching from Pep. I think he would be superb for them.

When JV said behave - think he meant you'd need to double that valuation

Yet that doesn't need to have anything to do with him being captain. As I said, correlation is not causation.

it's a fact, without Grealish's influence (which coincides him being the captain) we wouldn't have won 10 in a row.

Plus you don't know what he's like behind the scenes. Numerous players actually have commended how he is around the club, with the fans and with new players. He is Mr. Aston Villa.

But if Smith had picked a high energy and tenacious Luiz for the subs bench and replaces a tired Nakamba and Jack after the 2-1 goal and replaced them with Hourihane and Nakamba we could possibly keep the ball better when retaining it and keep Arsenal more contained.

It's ifs and buts, but that's what i would do. Get Trez off for Jota in the 65th minute and bring on Conor and Luiz for Nakamba and Jack around minute 75-78

Imagine Luiz comes on and gives away a penalty. Conor comes on and scores a deflected own goal. Individual errors are individual errors mate.

Once we cut them out (and the Refs and VAR does their jobs correctly) we'll be fine. We outplayed Arsenal for 45 mins.

    Players let him down?

Our midfield were knackered mate, yet he didn't make the obvious changes until they went 3-2 up. And that was around the 85th minute. Much much too late.

I was really disappointed by Smith on Sunday and i am still fuming. He just has to learn, and learn fast.

I really like him, but he can't keep doing mistakes like this or we're going down.

Players were knackered but their goal came from 3 individual mistakes. Stop talking out of your pooper.

Not sure. Hasn't played much last 18 months. Would his crossing he of any use to Wes?

Wouldn't have to be just Wes - but Albrighton's crossing is brilliant. Can play in all types of crosses.

Edit - Plus is means yet another Villa fan in the squad who will be willing to run through brick walls for this great club. I'm all for it.

  15. 49 minutes ago, KenjiOgiwara said:

Finally some end product from him that was nice. Especially the cross right after he came on.

I also find it weird he came on tbh. But I guess it can be several reasons. Maybe showing some respect to Crewe. Maybe Deano wanted Grealish to gain some confidence in his attacking play, that's been lacking. Maybe he genuinly thought there was a chance they could come back from 3-0. No idea.

What I don't really like is how is keeps baiting for unneeded fouls and free kicks tbh. Very often you see him shield the ball and slow down, only to get clipped, and at some point that will crock him good. It's okey in certain scenarios, but he really is overdoing it. Like a former Norwegian professional footballer said about Steffen Iversen (then Spurs - after about his 10th head injury), "some players just need to be taught to protect their body on the pitch".

It's a skill not many players in the world have. Defenders fall for it and clip him, and can't believe they clipped him and didn't get ball. Grealish has always done that and won't and shouldn't change.

  16. 6 hours ago, Stevo985 said:

I don't think anyone is saying that.

All we're saying in this discussion is that Grealish did some work in creating that chance.

You've framed it as he failed to beat his man and out of desperation made a backwards pass to stop us losing the ball (not that there's anything wrong with that)

But it's so much more than that. As has already been pointed out, he didn't try to beat the man. He dummied to beat him on the left which gave him the space to pass inside. And him carrying the ball into the box was what drew the bournemouth midfielder towards him which created the space for Luiz.

Passing that off as nothing is, like I said, being deliberately negative about it. Which is a really weird thing to do for one of our best players. You keep saying ANY of our wingers would have done what he did. Firstly, I don't think that's true. I think it's more likely our wingers WOULD have tried to beat the man on the outside and then put a cross in.

Secondly, even if our wingers did do the same thing, that doesn't mean it's suddenly not creating a chance.

Stevo, you're 100% correct here. Mind boggling people think otherwise.

Personally don’t think the ref was bad. May have got the odd decision incorrect but who doesn’t. Certainly didn’t come away from the game thinking the ref had changed the outcome of the game

Think you're in the minority there mate. He was shocking towards Villa.

  18. 2 minutes ago, villa89 said:

No what I'm saying is that El Ghazi falls over at the slightest touch and then rolls around like he's been shot. So even if he is getting legitimately fouled ref's are just going to assume he's diving again. If he toughened up a bit and did less diving he'd actually win more free kicks IMO. That's why I referenced the boy who cried wolf.

You have to remember, he has extremely quick feet and is probably the fastest with the ball at feet. He could probably do better - but at the weekend he may have gone down a bit easy so we can could Conor whip in a decent free kick for us to attack.

On the weekend though, he was legitimately fouled about 4 times.
