all great players but i'd say van der vaart's the only one we'd have an outside shot of signing. sneijder and farfan would both be going to one of the top champions league clubs if they did move. another suggestion: Tuncay Şanlı of fenerbache. contract up at the end of the season, i believe. fast, tricky left winger/attacking mid. quality player. I agree with you in regards to Van der Vaart, he's a great talent. Saw Hamburg beat Bayern Munich at the weekend and he was the difference. I was surprised there wasn't more interested parties when Hamburg signed him in the first place. I was hoping we might be interested in signing him. There's talk of interest from Bayern though and Hamburg have told them to piss off so far..

Well, don't think Bent is gonna happen, looks more likely to be Bellamy... Why won't Bent happen? 13million, he's ours! And cheap at half the price! don't get me wrong, i'd love to see us sign him.. I just be surprised if MON spent that much on a single player though. As someone stated a few pages back, we have several positions we need to improve on and need to see at least half a dozen new players arriving...not going to be cheap! I can see MON going for Bellamy b4 Bent because 1. He's worked with him and knows what he's getting. 2. He could be as much as 5-6m cheaper than Bent and there would also be less competition for his name. Just my thoughts...but who knows what MON is thinking! Oh and i'm by no means a Bellamy fan, but agree that he and Carew could be dangerous. Though neither is really a goalscorer as such..

You were going well there untill the end....Wes feckin Brown! The most injury plagued (Villa defenders accepted) overrated defender in the premiership! As you can probably tell I dont really like him that much! Yea, i've never been impressed by Wes Brown, very overrated in my opinion...The only reason he gets any attention is because of his Man Ure shirt. If he was at any other club he wouldn't be noticed.

It would be so funny if we have a thread that is about 5-600 pages long at the end of the january transfer window dedicated to Phil Bardsley! However, i do think there will be at least 2 more players coming in. It can get frustrating, i'm sure it is for all managers and fans of over clubs too. But I'm sure MON will do the best he can...even if it's not his 'Plan A' targets.

Have to say i'm disappointed that MON didn't work out one or two deals in december in order to sign them for the first week in Jan. Given the poor or no cover we have in a few areas... full credit to the new egghead chairman at West Ham...he's putting his money where his mouth is...they look like being the big spenders this January.

A training ground open house could be a good little reward/day out for those buying season tickets? Be a good way to make season ticket holders feel special and part of the club and may want to make more people purchase them and be more involved with the club?
