  1. Weird night of fights. We were robbed of a Khabilov performance by a freak dislocation, several other weird injuries too. That said my accumulator came off (seeing as pretty much every single favourite won) so all was not lost.

  2.

Homework is Daft Punk's best album.  ;)

I'm a huge fan of Homework, but Discovery wins it for me.

This. I do like Get Lucky, but I think the fact it was Daft Punk AND Pharrell made me expect it to be the sum of it's parts, which it isn't (and was an unrealistic expectation), rather than just pretty good, which it is.

  3. we should aim to go for kolo toure or lescott in my view both walk in our cb postion alongside vlaar

If you drew a venn diagram of our squad the "Players we signed from Man City" circle would be entirely inside the "Massively overpaid players" circle. I don't feel like we should add to those circles.

  4.

(admittedly he wasn't great against Liverpool either).

Apart from the stunning pass for the goal

    It was a hoof up-field

    :crylaugh:

 It was similar to Rooney's hoof up field to Van Persie on Monday.

  5. I agree, the huddle is a **** disgrace. Look at the angle of their backs in that pic, not exactly the angle of winners is it? And look at the way it's organised, not in numerical or even alphabetical order, no consideration of the varying heights involved, that's probably why we concede so many goals imho. It goes without saying standard huddle procedure is left arm over, right under. This bunch of amateurs wouldn't know a good huddle if it encircled them before kick off.

If the performance in the huddle on Monday is as bad as it has been in the last few games I'm walking out there and then.

  6. Was Bannan on the bench today?

Really don't know why after every game the Bannan thread is brought up, when he doesnt even get a game.

It's the closest thing we have on here to a consensus. Everyone thinks he's awful except for one person. It's like the fight against polio, it might not look like a major issue with only a few deaths a year coming from it, but if we can just get across the line and eradicate it for good then the world will be a better place.

    Bannan is polio.

  7. Pathetic today. 1-1 and Fulham dominated the possession statistics, in control 51% time - even though they were without Steve Sidwell and Enoh started his first PL match.

Our crossing was terrible. Westwood and N'Zogbia had crossing duties today - 13 crosses between them, only 2 accurate.

Bannan is accurate 45% time on crosses. Against QPR and Reading, we dominated possession with 56%, winning these must-win, winnable games.

Bad call from Lambert to not even include Bannan in the squad today.

"I thought they were the better team" - Martin Jol. Anyway...

Bannan's crosses, especially his corners, are hit while leaning back and hitting under the ball creating a loopy, shit, backspin, floating cross meaning it arrives in the box with nearly no velocity and spin that is facing back towards where it came from. The only reason 45% of these terrible crosses are counted as successful in your flawed statistics is because Benteke (who has won more aerial duels than anyone else in any of the top 5 European leagues) and Baker manage to get the first touch on the ball when it's put in 45% of the time. These aren't opportunities these two are having, they're just winning flick ons similar to what happens from clearances.

These crosses are a waste of **** time.

  8. Thatcher's death. It will be top story for weeks and I don't care. At all.

Love her or hate her, her death changes diddly shit. Not been in power for twenty odd years, she's had dementia for **** 10 years. Usually I'd be sad for her kids but in this case they seem like words removed so they can **** off too. Trading some of your own dignity to revel in an 87 year olds death is a bizarre concept IMO to boot.

  9. The abbreviation "acca" and that word removed on the advert dressed like Steve Jobs telling me about acca insurance. Shit voice, shit product, shit acting and shit little point to the camera at the end of the advert. **** off William Hill. That reminds me, people who refer to William Hill as Bill Hill. rocket polishers.

  10. They're not as "awesome" as they sound. One of the worst teams in the UFC.

Far from it IMO. They're the newest major camp and for the quality of fighters they've got their results have been shite, but they still have fighters challenging in the top 10 of every division. They're like Chelsea this season, team of stars that have been questionably managed and underperformed as a result, but nowhere near being the worst.

The only reason I worry for Rigondeaux is that most boxers of his level have an entire camps dancing to their tune and at BZ he's not king almighty. The facilities there are as good as anything in the world but I'm not sure it'll feel the same as training in a pure boxing gym. His new/old trainer Diaz is the new boxing coach for the team so Pangloss you're right about him being there to improve the others' boxing.

  11. What a **** let down card this is. Feels like a Strikeforce Challengers Series with a few exceptions. I could accept that if the prices reflected it. 180 quid for my (good) seat. Ugh...

Commiserations broseph. Will you be sitting close enough to hit Lloyd Irvin with projectiles if he corners Easton?

  12. Rigondeaux has moved to the Blackzillians (All Star MMA Team) and it's not a late April fools joke.

They have world leading sub grapplers, wrestlers, kickboxers and obviously mixed martial artists so I suppose for them adding a boxer of his calibre makes sense, not sure if it's good for him though (fight/career wise, financially he'll be earning cash money and all expenses will be paid).

  13. Sylla is our Busquets. Westwood our Xavi. Bannan our Iniesta.

    Bannan our Iniesta.

    Bannan

    our Iniesta.

:suspect:  I need a lie down I think, I'm seeing things.

The only one of them comparisons that holds any water is Westwood's (ideal role more than current ability), which incidentally is when he seems to thrive, ie. when he has someone along side him with more physical presence than a squirrel's queef and has the opportunity to play both high percentage passes and, when the opportunity presents itself, incisive ones too.

  14.

The guy's a beast. I think he's physically the best keeper in the league (world?)

    notsureifserious!!!

 Look, all I'm saying is if an evil billionaire organised a decathlon between the best keepers in the world, Guzan would win by ~500 points. He's a freak of nature.

Scratch this, I was wrong. He'd win by 500 points on the discus alone. Young Bradley would smash 10,000 points.

  15. I enjoyed Ellenberger's efforts as well tbf but the first two fights on the main card were horrendous.

Nick is an eejit, I'm beginning to believe he has a mental illness.

  16. We'll stay up. Pressure is on Wigan now to win those game's in hand.

Would be shame to happen to a nice man like Mr Whelan.

Mr Who? I've never heard of him.

Perhaps if he put himself into the spotlight a bit more and did more interviews I'd know who he was...
